SessKag Mystery Author March Round Up
To conclude our event, I've collected some statistics for you!
The easiest story to guess was Wicked's Unpredictable. There were two other fics where the right author got most of the guesses: Troll's Start Again and Lost and Found by @drosselmeyerwrites
The hardest stories to guess where Hard Day's Night and Roadblock, which were the only two stories where no one guessed the right author. @chierafied and @shortfry managed to fool everyone! Here's how well you managed to guess:
Most guesses left on a story: 10 (On @proudhanyou's Anthropological Purposes)
Least guesses left on a story: 6 (On Troll's Start Again & @gingermintpepper's Of Vernal Winds and Second Chances)
Average guesses per story: 7,9
Total guesses left in the event: 95
The author who got the most guesses throughout the event was @drosselmeyerwrites. In joint second are @chierafied, Troll & Wicked. Here's how all the guesses divvied up:
Most authors guessed on a single story: 7 (Anthropological Purposes by @proudhanyou Live Today, Die Tomorrow by Walter Of Vernal Winds and Second Chances by @gingermintpepper)
Least authors guessed on a single story: 3 (Unpredictable by Wicked)
The author who was guessed most often, in 8 stories overall or in other words, in 2/3 of the fics in this event, was @chierafied. In second place, guessed in 7 different stories is @drosselmeyerwrites. In joint third, guessed in half the stories of the event were Wicked and @deadlyglacier! The author who got the most wrong guesses was @kaoruhana08, who got as many as 4 guesses on Ain't it exciting, the rumble where you lay? by @deadlyglacier A fun statistical anomaly was our dear Troll. Troll was guessed at in 5 different stories, and in every one of them they got 2 guesses. And finally, on @kaoruhana08's A Little Push, Kaoruhana had a 3-way tie with @shortfry and Troll. But Shortfry and Troll were also the only two people to get a tie again in another story, this time in @gingermintpepper's Of Vernal Winds and Second Chances!
* Thank you again everyone who participated, guessed and commented on the stories! I hope you all enjoyed this event! And of course, the biggest thanks once again go to our fantastic Mystery Authors, who gifted us with such wonderful new stories. Thank you so much! There wouldn't have been an event without you! 💖

Roadblock

Every time she's been travelling lately, there was always something in her way.

Our Story no 9, Roadblock, was written by….
@shortfry!
This was the other one of only two stories in the bunch where no one guessed the author correctly! There were 9 guesses total on this fic, but the audience was between divided between @chierafied and @drosselmeyerwrites, who got 3 guesses each! The remaining 3 votes went to three different writers, none of which, of course, was Shortfry.
Here's how everyone guessed:
Congrats to Shortfry for staying unmasked! 😉

December Drabbles Day 18 - Liquid Courage
Read on AO3.
Banner fan art by the amazing @sayuri-liu
For @shortfry. Thank you for being amazing and for sharing your talent with us! You're such a wonderful person! Hope you have peaceful end of the year. 💙💙
For the 12 Days of Promptmas, Day 5: Warm Sake.
Day 18 - Liquid Courage
Inuyasha was not stupid. He knew that plenty of people might vehemently disagree with that statement — and his insufferable ass of a brother would be the first in line to do so. But he had seen the stolen glances. The smiles he couldn’t quite smother when she wasn’t looking. He’d seen the way the impenetrable amber of his brother’s eyes had grown warm and soft.
Hell, he couldn’t blame him. Inuyasha brooded into the cup in his hands, then raised it to his lips. The warm sake soothed him as he swallowed, filling him with glowing heat. And a sense of purpose.
Sesshoumaru had been clueless enough not to pursue his interest. Sure, he was a jerk. But Inuyasha wouldn’t mind giving him a helpful shove to move things along. After all, if there was one person on the planet who could soften the sharp edges of any jerk, it was Kagome. And Inuyasha was the living and breathing example of her influence.
It was about time to return the favour, anyway. He owed her too much. Out of all of them, she had probably sacrificed the most. She deserved all the happiness she could get. Inuyasha would guarantee it.
Inuyasha levered himself up. Swayed just a little before he swaggered towards his goal. He swiped another cup and a new bottle of warmed sake on his way to his brother.
He loomed at the edge of the village, looking on at the merriment of the winter festival. Always keeping himself apart, the idiot. But his gaze was tracking Kagome, as she laughed and danced and chatted with everyone. The heart of the party, as she so often was.
Inuyasha shoved the cup into his brother’s hand, then poured it full before topping up his own.
He arched his stupid snobby eyebrow at him but made no remarks. Silently, Sesshoumaru sipped his sake .
Inuyasha took one last gulp of liquid courage before embarking on his mission.
“You’re an idiot,” he informed his brother.
Sesshoumaru paused, the cup hovering near his lips. “That is rather an alarming assessment, coming from you.”
Inuyasha ignored his hoity-toity insults. “You need to do something about it.”
“About what, exactly?”
“Kagome.”
Sesshoumaru’s claws clinked against the cup as his grip tightened. Abruptly, he was standing straighter and stiffer next to him, as if someone had just shoved that pole up his ass deeper in. His usually cool amber eyes were wide with surprise. Then, he quickly looked away.
“I do not know what you are implying,” he replied, his voice carefully neutral.
Inuyasha snorted his sake . The bastard was blushing!
“Don’t give me that evasive shit. I’ve seen the way you stare at her.”
Sesshoumaru drank his sake . Clearly avoiding answering him. Keh!
“There should be less staring and more doing ,” Inuyasha advised him. “She’s worth the effort.”
The amber eyes flashed. “I am aware of her worth,” Sesshoumaru snapped.
Inuyasha blinked. Well. That was interesting. He grabbed the bottle and poured Sesshoumaru another cup. “Then what’s the hold-up?”
Sesshoumaru shook his head and frowned at his drink. “I am not sure how... That is, I have never... What if she does not... What if we do not suit?”
Inuyasha’s mind boggled, as he tried to both make sense out of his brother’s stammered fragments and understand what such a fumbling response revealed. Inuyasha heaved a sigh. This was a bigger mess than he could’ve imagined. He‘d meant to give his brother’s ass a good encouraging kick, not hold his hand and pat him on the back.
“Listen,” he said gruffly. “If I didn’t think you’d be good for her, I wouldn’t be here telling you to go get the girl.”
Sesshoumaru’s expression remained dubious.
Inuyasha heroically resisted the urge to smack his brother’s head. “Also, I’m not here for you .” Well, maybe he was, a little bit. But he’d never admit that, least of all to him . “I’m doing this for her. Because I think she’s interested.”
Oh, he had his attention now. The mask had slipped and the raw mixture of hope and longing on his brother’s face was both unsettling and deeply reassuring. He was doing the right thing.
“Truly?” Sesshoumaru asked, lowering his cup.
Inuyasha grinned. And patted his brother on the shoulder. “Go get the girl, you idiot.”
He watched Sesshoumaru go. Pause at the table where the feast had been laid out. Pick up a bowl and carefully peruse the food on offer, before collecting the choicest bits into the bowl. And then carry his offering to Kagome.
Inuyasha shook his head. Maybe he should have another talk with his brother at some point and explain to him the differences between youkai and human courting rituals.
Across the village, Kagome took the bowl and gave Sesshoumaru a brilliant smile.
Or maybe the two of them would be fine, after all. They’d figure it out.
THANK YOU @chierafied ! Such a sweet surprise for the holidays :)

We Must Hunger for Them [Yandere Sesshomaru x Reader]
Title: We Must Hunger for Them [Yandere Sesshomaru x Reader]
Synopsis: You forgot. You forgot because of his elegant airs and his aloof disposition. You forgot because he doesn’t so much as break a sweat, doesn’t so much as lift a finger if he doesn’t have to; you forgot what he is.
For Horrorfest request: Sesshomaru “I told you, I feed erratically, and often enormously."
Word count: 980ish
notes: yandere, kidnapped reader, mentions of blood and gore, non-graphic violence
The full moon should be a comfort. It often was, in your old life; a brilliant round moon would provide more illumination to keep away all those things that go bump in the night, that might jump out at any moment and devour you.
But that was your old life. A life you still remember, keenly, sharply, painfully. But not a life you have anymore. Not since you were pressed into the service–if your unsteady companionship could be called service–of the demon lord Sesshomaru, whose full titles you heard so often recited from Jaken as he tut-tutted over your inability to meet some essential metrics now and then.
Tonight, the full moon brings no comfort, no sense of safety. It only illuminates the horror in front of you. The carnage. The blood.

Decided to make a lighthearted manga version of my fic Binded! Will be making it into a short series, and some OCs will appear in future instalments. Weee I'm so excited! Tis a dream of mine to materialize my writing. <3
The process was surprisingly a breeze--from scriptwriting, outline, scene prep, draft, lineart, inking and effects. Really enjoyed it...if only my toddler and I didn't share the same iPad lol.
If you're interested in reading the original fic, here's the ao3 link below. Be warned for mature themes however.
Binded | Ao3
Summary: Canon-Div. SessKag. Kagome, now a modern-day miko, discovers Sesshoumaru’s spirit during an exorcism. Desperate for answers to her inconclusive past, she resurrects and binds herself to him—a reckless decision that inevitably leads to catastrophic consequences. Domestic fluff that slips into the dark.
Love love love!!!
Beautiful artwork by @thepadawanartist to illustrate a scene in chapter 192 of “You and Me After All.”
Title: His Name On Her Lips Author: @shortfry Posted on: A03, Dokuga, FFnet Pairing/Fandom: SessKag (Inuyasha) Status: One-shot Warnings: Angst, Tragedy Summary: There are things that he counted, and things he did not.
**Review Below (May contain spoilers)** || Live Read FAQs
He did not wait, he did not acknowledge. He turned and walked away. <—— Ouch, this one hurts. Everything from the rainy setting to how cold Sesshomaru’s attitude is makes me just want to rush to Kagome and give her a hug. I imagine he has a reason why he’s keeping her at a distance. I’m interested to find out. Until then, I’ll just be over here, pretending not to cry.
There was no reason to linger. He did not know her. She did not know him. Yet the stranger pleaded again. <—— How could he call her a stranger? Ugh, I feel like I’m going to ugly cry really soon…
I want to know what happened to them. <—— Wow…this is turning into a tear-jerker and they’ve only met a handful of times. It amazes me how you can convey so much of a scene in such concise sentences. You don’t waste time on flowery language or preparation. You let your readers draw the image in their mind based on the emotions and DAMN, girl, there are TONs of emotions in this. I am in awe.
There were things that he counted, and things he did not. I am immemorial. <—— You should win Best Characterization of Sesshomaru. Seriously, the way you’ve captured his impassive nature and his style of speech is outstanding!
For once, he did not have an answer. <—— Ah ha! Did he finally realize that his conquests were insignificant and meaningless? I think our girl’s slow and steady process is chipping away at his hard exterior. She’s going to get him to accept her. I know it!
It was winter when his name fell from a pleasured moan. <—— Hold the phone! What? What just happened?!? I think I read this section about three times to make sure I wasn’t dreaming.
Sometimes, I feel like we’re strangers. Yet you know me more than anyone else. More than everyone else. What does that say about me? <—— This one cuts deep. I can feel her vulnerability here. I like how she doesn’t let him change her. She continues to be upfront and open with him. She doesn’t bend to his way of doing things. She remains herself. Another gold star for impeccable characterization!
It could not save her. It broke upon my rage. <—— I take it back. NOW, I’m gutted. I understand why he’s so closed off and why he built such high walls around himself. Rin was the first person he ever let into his life. Losing her would be equally impactful for him. Excuse me while I go sob in the corner for a minute.
Will you remember me when I am gone? The answer came to him clear as day. Always. <—— I knew it! I knew she’d worm her way into his heart. He can’t deny her. Kagome is just too precious!!!
Yet how bitterly ironic, that the light he had found would ever leave him so dark. All those years he had been holding her were in a lover’s embrace. <—— Why, dude? Why didn’t you tell her? Ahhhhhh! Men are so frustrating. This was wonderful! Your writing is absolutely captivating. I couldn’t stop reading. I had to keep stopping myself to write down my thoughts and then scroll back up to the quote because I wanted to know what happened. I wanted to know if he ever told her and if she ever told him and what happened to them. Now that I do….
Yesterday’s warm up sketch,
featuring a little roughed up Sesshoumaru.
(And a funky sword because I couldn’t remember how to draw Bakusaiga 🥹)
LoL, idk what I'm doing at this point.
I like to imagine that Sesshomaru would find Kagome's quips entertaining if not noteworthy.
Posting this early for SessKag week ‘22 since I’ll be working all weekend. it’s their first and last dance, shared iPod and all. I hope you likey :)
Don’t tell me this has never happened to you 😁
Happy New Year sesskag drawing - nsfw version now on Patreon :D https://il.ink/sayuriliu if you want to commission me kisses
Ao3 tagging rant
At this point people are using Ao3 tagging system like it's fucking tumblr tags. It's getting real fucking hard to actually just find fic and at this point I think I'm just going to skip fics that don't properly tag things.
They were in love, Even if they hated each other, Everyone around them knew it, And they were stubborn till the very end,
That bullshit doesn't tell me anything. It tells me you don't know how to tag properly and that you have no idea that people are looking for fics like yours but can't fucking find it.
Enemies to Lovers, Slow Burn, Mutual Pining, + (Other coherent tags)
This tells me exactly what I'm looking for. It gives me coherent tags to search for. Put the first tags in the synopsis section of the fic, not the tags. Also, just because you make a tag, doesn't mean it's searchable.
On Ao3 there are things called tag wranglers and it's a hard fucking job because they are constantly having to wrangle commonly used tags in order to instate them as searchable tags.
The more you put this nonsense in the tags, the more BS they have to wade through.
Business in the front, party at the back.
Just throwing some OC art. Please sir, it’s been a year since I’ve last written about you so please stop passing by my mind occassionally, okie??
Wonder if you guys still remember this chap 😌 @elevenharbor @shortfry
Oh yea, imaginations running sexy wild here :)
