Conclusion

Blank focus on the main character Jesse, who struggle with an head injury that caused her to lose her memory and not being able to remember anything or anyone. Even though Jesse is clueless of everything it’s up to her to be positive and try to work with what is going on, which she was able to do, she might not have any feelings or know the right answer to things, which she is figuring out and willing to try. Overall blank was a good book and I think the writer Trina St. Jean did a great job with the characters part and the book itself, because I have learned a lot from reading. i would again recommend blank to anyone, because it shows you how someone can be living there own life but it seems like one big lie. I rate the book 5 stars because of how it was presented the cover the title and it was an interesting book couldn’t recommend any other book.

Memory lost and short term lost isn’t something anyone would want to have because it affects them a lot, they get irritated and angry, that they ask themself “why me”. Having memory lost causes you to challenge yourself to the point were you might want to give up if you aren’t getting no where, the brain works in mysterious ways and it tend to remember stuff that you might not want to remember but it’s stored somewhere else other than the ones you want to remember, like yourself and love ones. Sometimes it could confuse you and you might think cause you have it, you will understand it much more but it’s like you have no idea what’s happening and how to act. When dealing with a situation like that it’s good to relax and stay with love ones, even if you don’t feel anything towards them at least someone is at your side willing to help you wether or not you’re going to gain it back or start all over again.

Opinion; After reading Blank I was amazed, amazed to learn some new things and new words, reading the book made me go into a world that I didn't know I could go in, a world where it's just me and my book, just imagining that girl Jessica how she lost her memory and wether or not she was going to gain it all back or was she about to change her whole life base on what she had been told. I am glad I chose this book for my isu writing, I wouldn't think I could do it with any other book because it was a very interesting book that had me thinking myself like what would happen if that had ever happen to me, would I do what Jesse did, would I react how she did. I would recommend majority of my friends to read this book because I would go on and on about how good and funny the book is and if I can read it so can they. Blank was a nice and interesting book that the author Trina St. Jean created and she did a fantastic job.

4. Free write; This relates to a lot that Jesse is going through, she hears and sees stuff but can't remember when and who they are, the information she gets she works with it. Anyone with memory loss have that problem, problem where they get told things and don't know how to react to the situation because they want to react with the person they're hearing it from can see that they care but they can't really do that because of memory loss, and it affects many. People from it suffers and no one should be unhappy and feel empty with their life, not knowing who they really are because sometimes starting over is a good thing, it's like getting a second change of life to do things right.

Summary

After reading a few chapters of Stones a Grave, I have come to realize that the main character, Sara has a lot on her mind and seems to be very stressed out. While living in a orphanage with seven other girls, the house set on fire in the middle of the night. As everyone exited the big house they stood there in shock and just watched as the house burnt down to pieces. I find the book interesting because it makes you want to know what will happen next.

Hi, my name is Tracy Bonsu and I attend James Cardinal Mcgugian Catholic high school. This blog is going to be based on my English ISU assignment. The book I chose to blog about is called the Unquiet Past by Kelly Armstrong, hence why my blog is called “broken silence”. I chose to blog about this book because it has a lot to do with mystery, secrets and love, the most favorite topics I love to read about. The main character in the book is Tess, Tess is a girl who has been living with others girls her age and also younger, but they are not related. Tess lives in a group home and is trying to find answers about her real parents and family. A little bit about myself, I enjoy doing a lot of stuff during my spare time like playing basketball and soccer. I also enjoy working out and attending my dance classes.

I chose this picture because, I strongly agree with the quote. In my opinion I believe that children should have a home no matter what the case is. This quote takes me back to the book that I am reading(A Big Dose Of Lucky) today. It relates to the book because in this quote it talks about how nothing is wrong with group homes.Sara, Toni, Cady and Malou are all characters in the book that Im reading and they are all orphanages and they all live together in a group home.

Summary

Jesse had been in the hospital for a while now, even though she still hasn’t remembered anyone or anything before the accident, she was progressing well and the doctors had some good feed backs for her that she is coming and it’s still up to her to gain back her memory. Jesse had three best friends, that would come occasionally to visit her even though she doesn’t remember them she was grateful for them; Karry ,Cybil, Megan, her three best friends. The day has come, Jesse is finally going home even though she still doesn't remember anything she was doing well and it’s up to her now, not the doctors. She was a little nervous about going home, she didn’t know how to feel, if she wanted to go home or stay but what if she could gain back her memory at home who knows what she wanted to find out. Jessica doesn’t remember the girl she used to be and she wanted to find that girl again other than living an empty life not knowing who she really is.

Real-life connection

I haven’t experienced any head damage that caused me to lose my memory or have anyone in my family not remembering who they are. I have read a lot and watched a lot of movies that had to do with brain loss, people waking up not knowing where they are, not knowing who they are or what to really do or think and it can be a problem for many in that situation. Even if I haven’t experienced it I can relate by putting myself in Jessica’s shoes, feeling the pain she feels, and how to react seeing family and friends but I don’t know who they are, or what to say to them. Even if I can’t relate personally, I can relate mentally. But it also relates to me when I first came here to Canada like when Jesse was at the hospital lounge she didn’t really know how to make friends or talk to them and I didn’t know what to say or how to really act when they talk to me as well, because I didn’t know if they were going to like me or dislike me base on where I came from or how I act.

Kay Delany , 55, had lost her memory after a freak fall at work hitting her head and losing 20 years of her memory. She doesn’t remember taking care of her children, she believe she’s 30 years old and in the year 1990, she doesn’t remember when she gave birth to her children and she believes they are still young kids which they are all grown now. I chose Kay's story because it related to the book Blank because Jessica had also lost her memory and didn’t remember anything like how Kay had forgot a lot of things too and they both have similarities when it came to that.

Character

The character I have chose to talk about is Jessica, because she’s the main character in the book. So far I know that Jessica is 15years old and was charged by a bull and lost her memory, which lead to her being in a coma for eleven days. She has grey blue eyes, a pale face, with a few freckles that are scattered across her cheeks, her hair was mousy brown and medium length. Jessica plays a role where it was up to her to gain back her memory, to show everyone that she was able to do things she thought she couldn’t do or remember and everyone was counting on her. She is a nice girl and was an excellent student, knowing that she had brain damage it was hard to communicate with others because she had lost her social skills.

Summary

After reading a few chapters of Blank I got to know Jessica, or Jesse as everyone calls her. She is one of the main characters in the book. Jesse was a smart girl, well that’s what she been told, and fun to be around and loved by many till one day turned into the next when Jesse got into an accident and woke up not knowing where she was. The doctors had explained that she might not remember anything, her family, her friends and so on because she had brain damage. To her everything was new and it was all up to her to try and remember things or start all over again. I enjoy reading this book and getting to know what might happen next, like will she gain her memory, will she be able to recognize her father and mother? or does she have to start all over again and just try to adjust to everything around her.

My name is Rushaunna and I attend James Cardinal Mcguigan, grade 12 student. I am doing this blog for my ISU to talk about myself and the book I have chosen. A little about myself; I enjoy reading because many times when I am home alone I occupy myself by reading or going outside for a walk with my friends, I also enjoy eating pizza and wings - my favourite food to eat. The book I chose is called BLANK, it's about a girl name Jessica who had lost her memory after being in an accident which causes her to forget who she is and not knowing if she would recover or stay the way she is now. The reason I chose this book is because the cover spoke to me, like I wanted to know why was there glass on her face and why was it broken? I needed answers, so I chose to read it.
