As a pregnant oncologist, I’m still working every day as usual. Cancer doesn’t wait. Cancer doesn’t care if there’s a pandemic. Cancer will continue to grow and my responsibility is to my patients to continue their treatments in the safest way possible. I will admit I’ve been scared. Scared that I’m an asymptomatic carrier bringing it to my patients. Scared for my unborn child. Scared to bring it home to my older parents. Scared that people will ignore the recommendations to stay at home. Scared because I’ve had to use the same mask over and over. All I can say is that I’m very thankful for this fandom and for @taylorswift - in particular Daylight - which has been instrumental in calming me as I drive to work preparing for the day. You are what you love.
