Bucky Barnes during Airport Battle Captain America: Civil War 2016 | dir. Anthony Russo, Joe Russo
The New Avengers
For those of you who are concerned that Bucky Barnes being a part of Thunderbolts will somehow erase the progress he has made in the MCU, I don’t think you have anything to worry about, and this is why.
People who haven’t read Thunderbolts focus too much on the “team of villains” description they read in press releases and so they miss out on what that series has always been about: finding redemption. Many of the Thunderbolts started off as villains pretending to be heroes, but they change and become better people.
I know what you’re thinking. “But this isn’t the comics! MCU Bucky doesn’t need to change, he’s already good!”
I still say pick up the comics and you can get an idea of where his storyline in the MCU may be headed. In particular, I recommend the Second Chances graphic novel. This is the key part of the book description:
Bucky Barnes believes in second chances. Having survived death, manipulation, loss of identity and a lifetime of murder, the man known as the Winter Soldier has worked hard to atone for his many sins. But now…he’s going to go one step further. What do you do after you’ve found redemption? You help others do the same! Bucky is working to help others leave behind their lives of crime. It’s his way of channeling his own pain in a productive, personal way — by helping others find the same salvation he’s found.
I think we can expect something like this in Thunderbolts, where Bucky helps his damaged teammates get past their own traumas. This is how his MCU arc can progress. In TFATWS, Sam accepted his legacy and knew his future path. But Bucky was still figuring a lot out. When his therapist told him he was free, he responded “to do what?”
Sam told him if he wanted to crawl out of his hell, he needed to do the work and be of service to others. When Bucky finds out that people like Yelena and Taskmaster were brainwashed assassins just like him, and that it was Winter Soldier program intel used to create their conditioning, I believe he will do everything he can to help them recover.
I wrote this over two years ago when the Thunderbolts cast was first announced. Based on the last trailer I saw, I think I came pretty close about Bucky’s role on the team!
Wish I could go!

I am not lying when I say that I can't stop thinking about this.
Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova in "THUNDERBOLTS."
With Kamala/Walz going up DAILY, I've seen more people talking about voting third party/Jill Stein (EW) and I believe the above screencaps from @three--rings can explain WHY Third Party votes NEVER work NOR is this the election to screw around in.
Everyone....like she says above.....PLEASE LEARN FROM HISTORY!!!
(Because if Trump gets in, he's NEVER LEAVING).
