A vivid, swirling mist surrounds me as I gaze up at the sky. There, dropping from the heavens, a crimson form… so familiar… My beloved Shield Knight…! A voice speaks, although I know not from where. “Save her”, it calls out to me. I fix my gaze on her. I must simply catch her, then we may by finally rejoined after our parting so long ago. I may finally be whole again… But the voice calls out again. “Save her,” it says, its tone different this time. from the mist comes the figures of foes I bested in my travels. My heart races, my mind panics. She may die. I must save her… That same voice taunts me again and again as I fend off the overwhelming waves of evil to the very best of my abilities. It seems impossible… There are just too many. I hear her voice calling to me, unmistakable in its beauty… “Catch me. Please.” A leap, more powerful than any human could ever hope to make, carries me up into the sky, my outstretched hands reaching hers… a flash of blinding light, a moment of silence… and I lay awake at the campfire I lit the night earlier, without her… again. The voice taunts me one more time… “Save her.”

Y’know I reblogged this a bit ago and was saved from financial probation and getting kicked out of school because of it, just mere months from graduation. Got a call from the financial aid advisor telling me that they made a mistake with filing my account (or some other sort of clerical error) and said that, basically, they owe me money. Welp.
