The internal conflict he faces, raised by the return of his sister, it was trying to banish the cynical ice that encased his heart, but its grip was hardened over the millennia, keeping Qrow encased essentially.
“You call this corruption, I call this being betrayed by those we called allies.” A statement he remains close to, no matter how wrong or right it is in other’s eyes, he believes he’s wronged, and he will seek his revenge one day, but not now, not when he’s playing along with their expectations. “I know our paths have not crossed, but I am happy you weren’t there to be associated with me when those we apparently trusted turn on me and made me into this bastard god I apparently am.” Tone sneered in anger, but it wasn’t directed at her, rather at the surroundings he finds himself in as he stands there.
But her reaction did leave a mark, and he just sighs as he takes some steps forward, feathery hair shaking a little bit. “Robyn… I… I can explain… I just… I don’t want you to think I’m what they say I am.”
The woman’s eyes narrowed upon her brother as he spoke, her tail continuing to lash and coil behind her as if it were a serpent coiled back to strike out defensively. There was this core pit of pain that was building at her chest, writhing and twisting in great discomfort and anguish.
“We were both BETRAYED, Qrow.” She reiterates, hardly shying away from the man as he stepped closer. Instead, she drew herself to full height with her split chin lifted and nostrils flaring. “Why would I, someone who has always valued the truth and always seen the best in you, think you were anything less than the brother I love?”
Every word was spoke with righteous fury that burned through her very veins, leaving the searing agony of the deceit behind.
“I do not know what happened to you after I was locked away but if it is built upon the same lies that dragged me to the depths then why would I care to buy into further slander? I am no fool and I have more trust and faith in you than half the fuckin’ pantheon combined!”

‘ i have fallen & though i may miss the sky, i belong here now. ’

There is something deeply unsettling about the way that Winter’s wing’s have been clipped-The way it cuts way to close to sensitive muscle and bone; the way it is not meant for ease of carrying the larger appendages but to prevent them from ever having use.
Robyn’s own wings pulled closer to her back in sympathy, a grimace upon her features. Winter’s words, whilst sorrowful seemed to be laced with acceptance and that was the true cause of the sickness now coiling over the eldritch woman’s form.
“You do not belong here as much as those above belong in a sky they do not deserve.” Robyn replies, a hiss following the last syllables. “There is no justice in what was done to you, the sky should still be yours for the roaming.”
And if Robyn could do so, she would give this woman her own leather bound wings to see her fly once more. Maybe… she could.
“But worry not, I will see you set free again. There will be no more cages to hold you prisoner.”
Someone stop me making an Emerald Blog. I have F E E L I N G S about this neglected child and I cannot contain them.
cursedburden:
Temptation to just walk away was there, but he never did live up to that mindset. Rather, he simply stood there and watched his sister’s actions. He had no reason to admit what happened to him, even if she questioned, he won’t answer - it’ll just make her even more vengeful when she learns the bitter truth he was condemned to by those they saw as allies.
Tilting his head at her, his eyes looked at his former alter, neglected by his own desire and he lets out a sigh, laced in boredom as he shrugs. “You say that as if I care for my alter, I have no followers, only onlookers, this place became irrelevant as of late.” A truth, but not fully accurate, given how he chose to abandon this first. “I’m aware you’d only tell me truths, Robyn, but if you’re here to gloat, this conversation will end faster than any other route.”
If only he had the guts to walk away on the only person who actually cares for him.
There was a sharp prickle of irritation at Qrow’s brazen attitude towards her and her questions of concern. Her nostrils flare and a sharp exhale leaves her maw, goat-like eyes locked upon her elder sibling.
“It seems time has changed more than just the lands. Have you succumb to it’s corruption too, brother?” A hint of desperation sunk into Robyn’s tone, seeking anything of the man she once knew so many hundreds of years ago. “We have not crossed paths in so many moons, I had assumed you would be gladdened to see me like I, you. It seems, like much as of recent, I learn that I am wrong in this capacity too.”
The sneer to her voice does little to mask the pain she dons like a well worn heart upon her sleeve. Did Qrow truly think so little of her that she would gloat him for their first meeting of a millennia?
After she had been cast into the depths and forgotten?
“If this is all the elder sibling of change, a deity known for his compassion, has to offer then this conversation will be short and not for it’s lack of gloating.” Her tail lashes, cutting through swathes of uncut grass behind her and hands wrung out as Robyn’s emotions spill upwards and out.
It had seemed that time had robbed her of a brother too if this shallow grave was to be called kin.
showamity:
Staying still for only a moment, Winter was trailing behind Robyn towards the pile of her belongings. A soft look finding it’s away across her face, the ice hued princess gave a slight roll of her eyes.
“No issue at all… I actually rather like it.” truthful to her words, she did rather like the name. Much more than the other two Robyn suggested, her face scrunching at the last one. Ice Queen sounded like it was half an insult, and Princess – while her title – didn’t have the same ring as Snowdrop.
A smile was given to Robyn, a kiss pressed to the woman’s cheek as Winter passed her, a box grabbed that she knew was merely clothes. A look of mirth copied off her as she turned with a curious look. “So, shall we?”
A small noise of mirth escaped Robyn’s mouth before she could quell it, smiling at Winter’s reaction to the nickname. It went over well so she was hardly going to say much more on the topic save for a quirky remark--
Except when she went to speak more, to offer words, soft lips had pressed to her cheek and her face was flushing lightly in colour. This was not part of any script nor was it making Robyn’s entire stance on letting this princess settle and gain comfort in her home without pushing romantic affections getting any easier.
Robyn’s throat clears and she inclines her head, box set down as she manages a grin; albeit goofy.
“Yeah, yeah. I’m coming, your highness.” She teases, wriggling her way back into a smug and confident visage before this Schnee managed to smell weakness. The door to the wardrobe was opened as the box was set down, “I am hoping this’ll be enough room for your collection of attire, good lady? Or should I send for another wardrobe?”

showamity:
Where one would cower in the gaze of venom laced threats, cower and beg forgiveness before the maw of their untimely demise – Winter did not. The goddess of icy hues stood before bared teeth and groaning chain. But not without fear, for that rolled in waves from her very skin.
She accepted death at this moment would it come to that, but she suspected the arcane that held the beast bound also prevented anyone from stepping closer.
In some sense – she was safe to say and do as she wished, with only consequence spat words.
A pause waited, the need of staying to prod outweighing that of flight. Cyan hues roamed the spindly form until matching with dull purple between where the metal muzzled the eldritch being. “Indeed I know not… so being of lost, who am I challenging?”
Wings torn to the point of no flight, the young god pressed them firmly to her back. Hands placed to either side, she held no sign of taking a step back down the pathway to exit this eroded prison.
She was here to stay until her questions were answered.
If Robyn could have taken steps closer, could have reached this woman, then maybe this day would have a different end; maybe there would be a dead form of another god, their blood spilled fresh upon arcane stone--
But they both knew that she was bound by more than iron chains. There was no threat from this beast unless this young god put herself into Robyn’s maw and asked for her to bite.
So she had little but her words to hiss and spit. Words that fell silent upon a query of who she was.
Her maw opened but the truth fell short and Robyn's voice croaked at the back of her throat. “Who... am I...?”
Whether the question be at Winter or herself, the fallen god found herself wondering. No longer did she lay claim to the domains she once did prior--
No longer did she feel the soft call of the forest nor remember how the grass felt below her heels. Time had dimmed her long enough that all she knew were four stone walls and the bitter taste of iron.
“I... am the slow rot of nature seeded for anew--” She begins, a new identity coiling in the pits of her mind amidst the betrayal she had suffered. “The twisting maw of the Forest that has been forgotten, the truth; bitter and cold.”
“I am retribution come to bare for the sins of those above the law and there will be justice done for their long forgotten crimes.”
For they may have cast her aside and forged paths anew but she, among many, remembered and when iron shackles fell, there would be no mercy for the suffering she had suffered for their deciet.
showamity:
It was a tell of how her time had been prior to traveling to marry that she felt the need to thank for such simple things. Safety had a different meaning to her, and comfort wasn’t within her personal vocabulary. But that was all over, and for now, she could start republishing her dictionary of commonly used words by Winter Schnee with additions.
The first being love – a word she had never so spoken unless directed at family.
Winter followed Robyn’s gaze to the piles of her belongings in the corner, a sheepish look as she truly didn’t realize she had packed the entire carriage (originally she believed it was only half.) A quip on her tongue but lost as she backpedaled to squint at the blonde, brows raised.
“Did you call me Snowdrop?” only genuine curiosity came from her tone, tears long since dried from her face, and now replaced with dust of colour. Cyan eyes blinked – anything witty she could have possibly responded with lost as she focused on this nickname given to her by her prince charming.
A small hike of Robyn’s shoulders is given, already making her way over towards the boxes of belongings that Winter had brought with her. The sooner they started on this chore, the better--
A smirk was cast over to Winter, nonchalant in the given nickname and whatever implications that this woman chose to take from them--
“Is there issue?” She asks back, mirth written across Robyn’s tan features. There was silent appraisal, testing to see if there was any doubt in her mind that offense was to be taken or if the Schnee heiress was merely perplexed on the name.
A suitcase was opened, peering inside for clothing content before dragging it across the room to the wardrobes provided. “I can think of another if you would prefer-- Snowflake, Ice Queen.” There was a pregnant pause before Robyn snorts, “Well, Ice Princess. You’re not a queen just yet.”
@pcklesthings @alexkablob i heard a fellow gays questions and found i had an answer
showamity:
Of iron will and icy grasp, the child of old could only stand and bear witness to the being long since lost. Damned for speaking out, sent to rot for the attempts of the greater good. Not that the frosted maned godling had ever heard of a such a tale – nor a prison below the library.
The knowledge these eroded walls could tell had they a voice – or inmates not reeled back in a threat of striking towards the young celestial.
For now, in the audience of the chained fiend, the chamber rumbled by a peal of hollow laughter. Winter found herself drawn to the being in the center of the ancient runes, a thought of reaching out a hand – forming a fist at her side to prevent.
“Lost… I am not the lost one here – but you, forgotten one.” words tentative on frosted lips, Winter kept her ground to this looming creature of eldritch ties. “…my kind left you here. Time has passed – do you even know how long?”
Was that sympathy in cold hues? Or nothing but a trick of the light as the young god frowned.
Eyes narrowed and a hiss of air escaped Robyn’s maw. The stark and sore reminder of her indenture loomed over head much akin to the chains that had grown to second skin; raw and ever aching. There was little need for the verbal reiteration if anyone had bothered to ask but long since were the days when the Truth-Seeker was sought upon for knowledge--
Be it sympathy or misplaced lighting, the imprisoned being felt her heckles raised and a wave of irritation at the prodded questions that rubbed salt into centuries old open wounds; festering and virulent.
A snarl builds in her throat, echoing the chamber as chains rattle and Robyn closes space between her and this stranger. “You know not who you are antagonizing.”
But, perhaps, it did not matter. Not when she was bound so clearly for the other to see; a lion with no teeth nor claws to be spoken of. There was no threat here, just an empty husk of a broken woman.
“Return from where you came---” The beast snaps, “There is nothing but lost time and death awaiting you here.”
