reading older dazzler comics is cool and all until they get to really real issues with men / people in the music industry & high positions of power. seeing alison trying to please others that do nothing but try to manipulate, hurt, or take things away from her just so she can get to her dream really hurts. i'm glad she got to her dream & gets to do what she loves for the rest of her life but fuck this road was so rough and horrific.

it  was  a  gut  punch;   do  i  know  you   ?   ...   mighta’  ruined  her  whole  day  &  made  her  roses  wilt  but,  bless  her  seasoned  heart  ——   she  just  wasn’t  with  the  times!   or  was  dazzler  finally  washed..  ?   nah,   had  to  be  the  former  over  the  later..    for  the  sake  of  her  own  ego.

Anna Marie hadn't been this nervous to see Dazzler since the singer was routinely glaring daggers at her in the heat of the Australian Outback. Having her suspicious behavior pointed out, Rogue made an effort to loosen up her hands. She was still a bit sore from the thorough cursing Kitty had given her over the phone at the suggestion of anything related to an X.

"Sorry. Guess Ah'm just a bit tense given how tough things have been." She waves a hand dismissively at the mention of cavalry. "It's just Remy. He rented an SUV and is having way too much fun driving the thing." If he told one more person about sports packages she might lose it.

"Look. Ah'll cut to the chase. Given the state of things, Ah've been thinkin'...the world still needs the X-Men. Guess Ah just ain't ready to give up the good fight yet. It's been hard to find others willing to do it though." Anna knew the worst thing Dazzler could do was say no, but she really needed some kind of win soon.

pinched  nosed,   closed  eyes,   she  tries  to  reason   —   both  with  the  southern  belle  &  herself,   “   look,   i  just  got  my  break,   rogue..   i  just  got  back  in,  i’m  alive   !   i  have  my  tour,  writin’  an  album  too,  people  dependin’  on  me  and  people..   “   people  are  calming  down  is  what  she  was  going  to  say.   but  the  lie,  it  felt  sour  on  her  sorpano.   people  never  calmed  down  when  it came  to  her  people.   if  it  wasn’t  a  beating  here,  a  killing  there,  it  was  another  law  passed,  another  hurtful  glare,  another  space  they  couldn’t  be  in..   or  the  fighting.   far  too  much  fighting..   mm.
