It was Chiemi's final tour in New York with her troupe before she was to attend Hope's Peak Academy. Truth be told, the young star didn't want to go to a school like this. Most would kill for this opportunity, but not the young prissy star. The fame and fortune, the wonderful dance and musical numbers. Did she mention all the shoes and dresses her fans would buy her? All those clothes she'd sneak off the set from time to time? I mean, c'mon: How could she not?
You say that I'm kind of difficult, but it's always someone else's fault. Got you wrapped around my finger, babe. You can count on me to misbehave.
The reason for her last tour was because her manager, a shy brunette female with round frames asked for her to take a break. She wanted at least a semester's worth, at Hope's Peak upon acceptance. The black haired beauty made a fuss constantly around the troupe at this, of course. She wanted to become more well known everywhere, damn it!
Chiemi still had family who didn't know her yet! A brother out there, who needed to see how beautiful and famous she'd become! If he didn't see her, how would he ever find her? That was the real reason she did all this. After all, her parents died, making Chiemi believe that she'd be worthless if she didn't do the thing she detested above all: ballet. Damn that stupid form of dance. Why did they want her to do something she hated?
I know I've got a big ego. I really don't know why it's such a big deal, though. ...I want to be adored.
She did all of this for three reasons:
To start off, she was GOOD at what she did. Many people loved her, especially when she played her recent role, as Ursula from The Little Mermaid. What a fitting role for such a bitch, right? At least, that's what people would say behind her back. But really, were any of the assholes she worked with any better? Of course they weren't: Chiemi grew up with these people, who were much older than she. They taught her to act like this.
Secondly, she wanted to prove her parents wrong, as mentioned. Growing up, her mother punished Chiemi whenever she wasn't doing a 'good enough' job. There were scars on her back and feet. Even so, they were small enough to be covered up with hose and make up. Luckily, she managed to make it so that no one knew about them in her troupe. At least, she thought this was the case.
Finally, her damn brother. Chiemi had a twin brother named Hideki. The boy was smart, perhaps too much so. He was a bit of a jerk, but they still loved each other. Even so, she lost contact with the boy as soon as their parents died. When Chiemi started to tour, Hideki would often stay with their auntie. He was lucky the week their parents ran off to the Middle East, for he wasn't there to get hurt. ....But where was he now? Did he ever receive her letters?
...Soon, it came time for Chiemi to attend Hope's Peak at last. She missed her brother dearly, but if he didn't notice her now, he wouldn't notice her later. Maybe she should just give up.
