Confusion Upon Arrival. [[Open Roleplay Starter]]
At Aya’s words, Marisa simply gave a smile. It seemed warm enough and not a bad intention could be read upon her features.
Don’t act like that? That’s really a stupid request, isn’t it? Surely she likes this version better than the last…
"But I’m sure that my last set of personality traits displeased you, Kaneshiro-sama. This set must be at least a little more appealing. Either way, you must be dying to get rid of somebody like me, so let’s get it over with."
She never really considered how she managed to change her personas so quickly, the girl just figured she did it to adapt. Why else would she? In the world she lived in, this was a needed adaptation. And she wasn’t about to drop it now she was in high school. Wasn’t this kind of place worse? She needed to be strong, after all.
Though when her acquaintance began walking, Marisa put her hands behind her back and walked behind her a good few steps, looking around as she went. He ballet flats were silent against the floor, so much so, in the past she’d scared someone into thinking she was a ghost thanks to her silent movement.
Though, in the back of her mind, the redhead felt some form of admiration budding for Aya Kaneshiro. She seemed like a strong person, and very down to Earth. If only Marisa wasn’t how she was. Perhaps they could’ve been friends.
"Thank you for escorting me…" She began with a small hum, contemplating about asking where Aya’s dorm was. "Ah..? Oh! My dorm room is uh.." She squinted, remembering back to her Student ID. "Right. It’s Room 208."
Aya didn’t know what to say to this girl. She changed her whole disposition just to please her? Somehow, she couldn’t bring herself to resent that. Still, if she was able to change her whole character so quickly, Aya wasn’t sure her talent would be able to keep up with it. Even she could be fooled if the mask put up was realistic enough.
"Yeah, well, you’ll piss me off either way so you might as well be yourself." Aya retorted, puffing out her cheeks a bit in annoyance. Though her words sounded harsh, as everything she said did, she meant them in the nicest of ways (though she’d never admit that).
As the pair were walking, Aya had to stop herself from turning back to check if the redhead was still there. She was so quiet, like a ghost. If not for Aya’s uncanny empathic ability, she’d have no idea the girl was even there, and even with it it was hard to tell. This girl, she was something different.
"It’s whatever," she brushed off Marisa’s gratitude, not wanting her to know Aya was going out of the way for her. It wasn’t something she’d normally do, and she sure didn’t want the reputation of being a do-gooder. People might start to think she was approachable, and she couldn’t have that. "Oh, upstairs then." The blonde had never bothered to check out the upstairs dorms as hers was on the first floor, but she knew where the stairs were so it shouldn’t be much of a problem as long as the numbering was the same.
Aya waited for Marisa to draw closer to her before turning back and heading towards the dorm hall once more. Aya wasn’t one for conversation, so she made no move to initiate small talk. Instead, her thoughts drifted to this Marisa Megumi. She just didn’t understand her, or her strange adaptation. At first she’d thought she was just some dumb lost little new girl, but there seemed to be more to the acrobat that what met the eye. Though she’d never say it aloud, Aya almost found the girl tolerable, which was virtually unheard of. Maybe it was just the curiosity that drew her to her, but still, she didn’t feel quite as annoyed with her as she’d expect to. Marisa Megumi, she was an enigma.
Covering her mouth with one hand to stifle a giggle, Marisa smiled, keeping her eyes locked on Aya's back with an intent expression.
"I piss you off? ...How forward. Ah well, it can't really be helped, I suppose. The matter at hand is how it is, but I will refuse to drop this persona, Kaneshiro-sama. I have a feeling you can tolerate this better than that other me. Anyway, it's not like these people are the real me. I don't even know who I am anymore."
With another giggle, the girl folded her arms. "But let's not bore you with a tragic backstory or annoying hints. That's far too annoying, no?"
Matching her steps with Aya's, Marisa simply hummed quietly as they walked, rather grateful that she was taking time out of her day to show such a pathetic girl around. How kind of her. She musn't be as awful as her exterior suggests.
"I think you're rather charming." The redhead muttered, tapping her lower lip with a dainty forefinger. "Mm...A nice person. Though, I won't bother you with trivial things like friendship. No doubt you'd hate that sort of thing, at least with me--Ah? Upstairs? Ok, let's go."
