Project: Disaster! [idolsayakamaizono]
Sayaka was in English class, texting as usual. She was alright at English, but that was mainly because she had a few songs that had some lines in English. Either way, this class seemed like it was going to last forever today. The teacher was explaining some…project? Grammar rules? Didn’t they learn this last year? Whatever project it was, she could probably finish that up quickly then have the rest of the time off to herself.
That is…until she heard they would be partners. It’s not that she hated group work, in fact, she liked it….when she knew the person. Sayaka had a decent idea who everyone was and who or who not to work with in this particular class. Of course, there were always a few people she didn’t know about. One of them being the girl she was assigned to work with. Kaneshiro…? Sayaka didn’t even know this girl’s talent. She was the brown haired girl in the corner…right? Or was it the purple haired girl…Oh—no, Kaneshiro was the blonde! Right? She honestly had no idea; she could only hope that the girl would approach her first, so she wouldn’t look like an idiot not knowing who her partner was.
Sure enough, a blonde girl approached her. Sayaka had been listening to what they had to do for this project. Ooooh a video! Maybe she could make a song…or even a dance routine for this! Maybe she could sing some popular English song that is well-known in the west?! Needless to say, she was a little lost in thought when Aya approached her. “Eh?” She snapped back into reality when she saw the girl in front of her. She smiled brightly and acted like she knew exactly who Aya was—for the most part. “Yes! I believe we are! We haven’t formally met, but as you know, I’m Sayaka Maizono!” She giggled, thinking introductions weren’t necessary here, but she did want to know this girl’s talent. “I suppose we should figure out when it would be best to work together due to our separate schedules. Or…would you rather talk about ideas for our video first?” Might as well get straight to the point of this project. She had a feeling that Aya didn’t think highly of her, since it was obvious that Aya was trying to not look angry here.
Aya frowned at the other girl's too cheery of a smile. It was so fake, it was obvious this girl wasn't even sure who she was, and it only pissed Aya off that the girl tried so hard to play it off.
"Aya Kaneshiro," the blonde huffed in return. "Of course I know who you are." Her fat face was all over the place, it was hard to miss. The whole country of Japan seemed to be infatuated with the idol and her little pop group, but those kinds of fads never lasted long. Soon, she'd be yesterday's news. The thought made Aya stifle a chuckle.
"Right." Aya pulled up a chair from a nearby desk and sat down next to the idol. "Any time after school is fine with me," she shrugged. Her lack of extracurricular activities and social life made her wide open for working on the project, and the sooner they got done with it the sooner Aya could go back to her own little world where no one else existed. People were too much of a hassle anyway, and the idol was no exception. Besides, they'd be scheduling their meetups around her schedule anyway, and depending on what they decided on doing there could be a limit on what Aya could do on her own.
"Have any ideas?" She voiced the question aloud, but she wasn't expecting any suggestions from the blue-haired girl. A girl who got by on her looks never needed to use her brain, so Aya figured she'd be doing most of the idea-making and work herself. "Let's see..." She studied the instructional handout the teacher gave out to look at the topics to choose from. They were all units they'd covered this semester, so they were pretty broad and gave little guidance on what exactly they should do. "Leisure, careers," she rolled her eyes at that topic before continuing. "Food, technology, fashion." She paused. Fashion? She didn't even remember that unit, she'd probably slept through it. Still, it sounded interesting, and there was no doubt Sayaka would be interested in it as well. "Fashion sounds like a good topic, right? We could do a fashion show video or something like that." She looked up expectingly at her partner with the least bitter expression she'd had all day.
