â 蟌éäşÂ â˝ [sousuke & caadia]
Dirty work needs to be done by someone, he supposed. If the poor guy really did croak from poison, there might as well be some evidence in the supposed entrance point. Over time, he simply began to care less and less. His hair was scruffy and unbrushed, even curlier than usual against those beastial affinities. The dodgeball gameâs aftermath shook his core to the point heâd simply like to forget everything about it. But it felt nice to be natural. He never thought that he had been pushing himself to always be so chipper. But it was true. He had a lot on his mind all the time.
When Xue pulls his hand away, all he gives is a short look of confusion before shrugging it off. Her eccentricities were no longer a point for his ridicule. Surprisingly, the innkeeper had grown slightly fond of her odd tendencies. He didnât understand all of them, nor did he exactly want to. But a few moments alone revealed a lot about himself.
âYa really gotta start talkinâ in a way I can understand you if youâre gonna go on those lilâ rants of yours.â
He shakes his head gently, shrugging as Xue takes him along for an escapade. Apparently their search now expanded past fondling the body. He was pretty glad for that fact. Loicâs room? Sousuke had no room to agree, the tall boy practically being ushered along by his purple haired companion. Like anyone could get a good nightâs sleep in this place anymore. Everything smelled like sadness and leftover corpses.Â
Wait, find something?
âPlease, god, tell me you lended him something before he croaked. Iâd even accept you mackinâ on him or somethinâ. Or. Do you know something about this? God, Iâm like your older brother or something.â
Sousuke sighed under his breath, beginning to ransack through Loicâs room with his new found animal speed to find whatever strawberry pink object Xue was detailing.
Everything was fine.
Feeling drained, Caadia allowed herself to be pulled and dragged by the others, showing absolutely no resistance. AdmittedlyâŚshe was hoping to investigate with a certain someone, but it was near impossible to disagree with XueâŚkinda. Sorta. Okay, not really. It was really easy to disagree with Xue, but Caadia simply had no drive to even make an attempt.Â
She remained silent the whole time, but watched closely. Her eyes werenât darting around the room like every other investigation thus far, but rather they were fixated on the pair who were clearly working. Her nerves were still on high, however, as she was sweating and biting her lip. Even after two bodiesâŚshe couldnât handle the fact that people were still dyingâ how was someone supposed to get used to it?
( âIt seems subject 266 Toubei Kobayashi is also a victim.â )
âŚEverything was fine.
As they made their way to the room of the victim ( One of them ), she heard the announcement loud and clear, and she almost felt as if she had been struck by lightning at that moment. A victimâŚ? That meantâŚhe was dead, rightâŚ? No, that couldnât be true. It wasnât true. HeâŚheâŚ
( âI was kind of hoping I wouldnât have to leave you so soon.â )
( âIâd make the time for you no matter what.â )
( âYouâre really precious, you know that?â )
( âI just⌠want to spend all my time with you, if youâd let me.â )
Why was he dead? ( He lied to you. ) He couldnât be deadâ why would anyone kill him? He was so niceâŚsurely no one had a reason to kill him! ( It shouldâve been you instead. )
ââŚIâŚI umâŚIâm sorryâŚIâm just going toâŚstand by the doorwayâŚâ
And with that, she fell silent again, watching the two from the door. HowâŚwas she supposed to help in a situation like thisâŚ? SheâŚjust didnât want to think about all of this anymore. She wanted all of this to end.
Seeing how easy it was to drag two very sleepy and sad kids to someoneâs room, Xue didnât mind being the only one really putting any hard work on this. Well.. hard work for her own ideas, not for the corpse that was found. She barely exchanged any word to Caadia, feeling sorry for her, but also not knowing what to say. Xue knew she just said whatever she wanted, and there was almost no repercussion for what she did or said. She wanted to be careful for her.. wife? Friend? Who was Caadia to her anymore, now that she didnât like being with her anymore, it appeared.Â
âWait.â She stopped her search to glare at Sousuke. â<Lend him something? Of course not.> I wouldnât ever let my lips touch him, he was too prissy for my liking.â She furrowed her eyebrows, how could she best explain this.
âIâm trying to find lube he has.â She wrinkled her nose at the older brother comment and went back to digging through everything she could get her hands on in the room.Â
Surely, Apollo wouldnât mind returning to a mess. Or those who cleaned corpses-- Leroy-- wait no. Leroy would never clean their mess except when it applies to murder. Nevermind.Â
