GáŽáŽáŽ: â¶SáŽáŽÊáŽ
{ â - - -; Adonis wished they had slept in. The news was inevitable, of course, but if they had been smart, had just ignored the click of the door being unlocked and just went back to sleep, it could have waited a few hours until they had a decent amount of rest. Or, as decent as they could get, after being locked in an infirmary all night.Â
But with their luck, after what happened to them yesterday and that night, of course the first news they hear that morning would be of a murder.
The first thing they did, completely reasonably, was lock themselves in their room. In their defense, it was solitude, or a panic attack. They didnât even know Miki, had never talked to him butâŠbut his murder still hit hard. Itâsâheâsâheâs the first murder, heâs actually dead. Someone killed him.
And all of a sudden their predicament became all that more real.
Their life was at stake here, all their lives were in danger. Someone just died, and it was someone among those fourteen other students in the school who killed him.Â
Out of everyone here, one of them is a murderer. One of them killed Miki Ikari last night, andâandââŠ
       They couldnât trust anyone.
One of them is the killer, and they didnât know who. They couldnât trust anyone.
But they couldnât very much isolate themselves from everyone, it would only backfire and make them seem suspicious. They could ask for alibis butâcould they really trust anyoneâs word?
              No.
But they had to try something.
And it was either extremely fortunate, or extremely unfortunate that they ran into someone three steps out their door. Trying to hide their alarm and skipped heartbeats, they managed to form some sort of a calm expression and some semblance of a smile, before greeting the student with a cheerful, âHello.âÂ
Oh. There was a murder already. That...that happened quicker than Akiko thought it would. She had hoped that no one would stoop to this level at all, but it was unrealistic to expect nothing. After all, it was a good bargain, and there were a lot of people here that would do anything to get into Hope's Peak. Honestly, Akiko was probably part of that category. She drew the line at killing though. Taking another person's life...it was disgusting. It wasn't fair.
She was hesitant to go look at the body. Again, this was something she'd only witnessed in movies. Hopefully it wouldn't look too different from the makeup work she'd done to make people look dead.
Against her will, she felt tears starting to form. No, that wouldn't do. She didn't even know the kid, why was she so emotional about it? The only tangible emotion she could identify was fear. Fear that she'd become a victim too. Fear that the killer would go free. The fear petrified her. What was wrong with her? She was stronger than this. She just had to put on her brave face, and she'd be fine. No one could know that she was upset. Being weak would just make her a target.
It took a little while, but she was finally able to leave her room and go across the hall. She wasn't entirely sure what to expect. She certainly didn't expect to literally run into someone. At least this person was polite about it, unlike some other assholes she could name.
"Oh, uh, hi," she greeted, still caught off guard a bit, "Sorry? I didn't see you there." Okay, the apology came out a little rude, but it was there, so that was better than normal.
