It’s early, too early. Many are sleeping peacefully at this time of 2am, and others getting ready to head to their beds. No one could have been prepared for the sudden outburst of static from the speakers, which may have startled some awake.

“Good morning..!! Something amazing just happened, so your families don’t have to die. That’s really great. In the showers, Nikki found a body. Nikki found a body and is busy touching it all over. Go look..! Who the body is, I’ll let you find out.

But, you can find out through your tablets now. If you look on the main screen, there’s a new tab. It’s a tab for case files. It makes it sound like you’re actual detectives with a case file, so it’s really cool. Everyone please look at it, and you’ll also think it’s really cool! Use it to help investigate and put pieces together. You’re welcome. Have fun.”

A body was found in the showers? So it finally happened. You ought to make your way to the showers, where you will indeed find Nikkita hugging a corpse in the cubicle furthest away from the door. By approaching the body, you can see the identity of the corpse as Eiji Katashi, SHSL Demonologist.

Caring to check your tablet, there is indeed a new tab located on the Main Screen that reads “Case File”. It lists the identity of the victim, the cause of death, and the time. Useful.

Making The Best Of The Situation | Open Starter |

Nikkita’s head felt light and fuzzy, but a painful throbbing awoke her, leaving her to find herself on a cold concrete ground. She woke with a small jolt, her body not responding for a moment before she sat up slowly, rubbing her throbbing temporal lobes. She couldn’t feel any other pain or see any visual harm done to her and began to relax. This was…strange. “Vhat is going on..?” She asked herself quietly

Nikkita looked up at the voice in the intercom and began to frown. Her questions were being answered as she sat there, instantly taking herself into action as the disguised voice explained their situation. She didn’t have time to be shocked or angry but to survey her surroundings. So far she had noticed very little detail in the construction of everything. Boxes lined the wall and had rather…normal things in it? She took the blankets, leaving one or two in there before folding them neatly so that she didn’t have to sit on the hard ground later. The more she explored, the more it amused her. They were being kept here like prisoners. She began to then smile when she found the walk-in freezer and stared at the medicines. “Very interesting…” 

Nikki walked back out before closing the freezer door and making her way to the exit of the some-what Warehouse. She wandered for her room. Or…a room. Any kind of bed worked because she could feel her legs begin to shake as she walked. “Der’mo…” She muttered under her breath as she walked. She couldn’t find anyone around so she guessed it was just her.

After talking to a couple of people Eiji, he began to wonder a around a bit. this place was just so... bland. However, that wasn't really important. he looked aroud and went to the boxes and grabbed the dull shirts, pants, slippers, a blanket, a couple of sketchbooks, pens, pencils, and a couple of books. Eiji liked to draw some, but it was more of a hobby than a full on talent.

He walked out of the building and began to look around at the area. they really were underground. As he was looking around , he noticed that the place almost had an abandoned feel to it. He kind of liked it to an extent. Eiji began walking around and noticed someone also walking around. He stares and realizes, it was someone he knew. He placed all of his stuff in one hand, and began walking again.

Eiji began to walk faster and got closer to the person. As he got closer, he knew exactly who the person was. Nikki. Eiji was so relieved to know he knew someone. As he got closer, he started walk lightly on his feet. just as he was close enough, he ran up and gave her a side hug.

"Well, well, well. who do we have here?" eiji said while smiling at her.

Sebastian moved a bang away from his red eye, lightly sighing with the other’s apology. Even though he’d love to have something to do, it wasn’t worth it to fight because of that. Graceless, to be precise.

But the way he talked… The manufacturer lightly narrowed his eyes. Isn’t it similar to… The male shakes his head, dismissing the thoughts and giving the other a firm handshake.

“Sooner or later it’ll happen, it’s just a matter of someone choosing a victim first.”

If it wasn’t for the way that he said these words, the light smile accompanying it could be considered kind one. What can you do? It’s one of his favourite subjects.

“But I’m sure that eighteen ‘super highschool level’ will be able to solve an amateur murder. Speaking of which, do you have a title? Oh, ans the name is Sebastian. Sebastian Graham.”

Eiji fixed his hair a bit after he shook the other guys hand. Afterwards, placed his hand back in his pocket and sighed at what he said. Sadly, he was more than likely right. Someone is going to choose a victim, and kill to get out of here... Possibly. It all depends on how well the person covers there tracks.

"Well. We will see. Right now we are in a waiting game. Waiting for someone to make the first kill..."

It was a scary thought to think that someone in here might be willing to kill another for possible freedom. possible being the key word.

" Oh yeah. I'm the Super High School Level Demonologist " Eiji said. "Sebastian Graham... Nice name. So Sebastian, what is your title?"

Eyes Wide Open (Open/ DanganSummer/ Prologue)

Stiffness… Cold… Light… Was Eiji dead? Did he just die from some freak accident and wasn’t aware of it? Nah. Eiji began to slowly open his eyes to see a light above him. Okay, good he wasn’t dead… Eiji slowly came up from from the cold concrete and began feeling a pain shoot down his back. Not the best of places to sleep…

Eiji got up, stretched and began to walk around a bit. Where was he and who were these people exactly? some of them looked familiar, but his vision was a little too foggy to see any familiar face. Suddenly, static came over the intercoms speakers in the rooms. what exactly is going on? A voice came on the speaker greeting all the students.

Eiji stood there facing one of the speakers. He listening and keeping his focus to whoever was on the other side explain what was going on. He could feel the mass confusion among the others. What did the voice mean by covering our tra-…

Killing… A sick and twisted game of killing… Eiji’s heart began to race at a rapid pace. He could feel a panic attack beginning to set in, so he placed his hand on his chest. He began to take controlled breaths to help calm himself down. This was not the time, nor the place to begin panicing. The voice continued to explain the rest of the “killing game”.Afterwards the speaker went to static, then nothing, leaving only the sound of a low rumble and sobs among the people in the room.

Eiji began to walk around to get the stiffness out of his body. He began to recognize some of the faces in the room. While staring at some who he for sure knew, he ran into some and fell back onto the ground.

“Oh god! I am so sorry for that! I just… I wasn’t paying attention!” Eiji said while rubbing his eyes and brushing off his clothes.

Sebastian didn’t actually react too much with the bump, but if someone watched it closely they’d see the slightest hint of worry when the golden ring he was playing with flew from his hand. Luckily, he caught it just as it was about to fall.

He angrily looked back, searching for the person who was careless enough to do that. A ‘tsc’ escaped his lips as he found the other on the floor, the angry expression quickly changing to an uninterested one. No reason to do something, the other’s own clumsiness already did the work.

“Be more careful when you walk around. What if someone falls, get angry and kills you? I don’t want bodies that early in the game, that’d be a bother.”

With a swift movement, he took off his right glove, revealing a hand full of protective rings (the same ones that archers use) around his fingers. The only free one, the ring finger, was where he put the golden ring, placing the glove back. For a few seconds, his eyes paused at the other male, as if calculating his next step. Finally, Sebastian offered a hand for the other to get up.

“What’s your name, klutz?”

Eiji looked at the guy he bumped into and realized he was not so happy that he bumped into them. Oh well, accidents happen. Although Eiji didn't really like the attitude, but it wasn't worth arguing over. Eiji accepted the help from the guy and got up.

" Hey man, I apologize. I didn't purposely try to run into you. Hopefully it wont happen again. Oh also, Thanks for the help." Eiji said while giving a half smile to him. Eiji looked around at the others talking to one another then looked back at the guy he bumped into.

" Yeah, lets hope no killing happens any time soon... Oh yeah, just so you know, my name isn't Klutz. I'm Eiji Katashi. May I ask who you are?" Eiji says as he extended his hand out to offer a handshake to him.

!! BEGIN. !!

Consciousness begins to trickle its way back to you. Against your cheek you feel something cold and hard- a concrete floor. You find that your body is sore and stiff when you try to move it, but you press through it to sit up. It’s dimly lit in this large, large room- Where are you? There’s a thick pillar at the center, just a support beam. Placed high on the beam, you notice a cluster of cameras- Is someone watching? Movement draws your attention down. There are people awakening all around you, all about your age. How did you get here? How did everyone get here?

An alarming memory floods to the surface of your mind. Something over your face; someone behind you, on you, panic; you couldn’t breathe; you couldn’t see. You have to get out of here. There are two doors on one side of the room, and on the adjacent wall there is one larger door. That must be the way out, right there- !

Discordant static overwhelms the area. But soon, it breaks off into a voice.

“Good mooorrning,” the greeting is drawn out, and the voice sounds inhuman. It’s evident the voice is going through a processor to disguise it. “I thought some of you were dead. I’m relieved. Everyone woke up, so it’s very good. Welcome to your new home, everyone..! It’s not bad here. You’ll all like it here, a lot… hm,” the voice trailed off, as though it were trying to find its words.

“But, I think not everyone will like it here. That’s the point of this game, after all. The game is to escape, congratula- Good luck! I’m going to tell you how to play now. I think everyone will really enjoy the game, because you can prove how great you are! Hope’s Peak students like doing that, right? You prove how good you are, and how much better you are? You can win this game by being really good at covering your tracks, really good.”

“If you kill someone and cover your tracks well, you won’t get caught!”

“That’s the point of this game, to escape by killing people. This is going to be very exciting…! When someone finds the rotting corpse of one of their friends, everyone has to pitch in to investigate the murder and figure out who slaughtered them. After investigating, you can vote for someone in a certain room. I’ll invite you to that certain room when the time comes. If you can’t find the one who ended another’s life horribly and prematurely, then that person ‘wins’ and can leave this place as a reward. It’s a really fun game because it brings out the worst in people. People are really terrible. They’re awful. Now you can freely be as awful as you want. Good luck!”

With a brief static, the speakers fall silent. Everyone is now standing, glancing at each other in stunned silence, trying to process the situation they’re in. It’s surreal. It’s all so surreal. How could this happen to you?

You have found yourself trapped in a game of death and despair.
