Birds of a Feather (Ryosuke+Tatsuma)
Ryosuke seemed to be mulling over something pretty seriously, and Tatsuma thought that it would be best to let him do just that. He probably weirded the boy out, now that he thought about it, with what he had said. His face was stern looking, and whatever he was thinking of appeared to be affecting him negatively.
Tatsuma sighed quietly to himself, facing away from him. All of a sudden, he felt something grasp his upper arm and turned around abruptly. Ryosuke had grabbed hold of his bicep and began pulling him along with him as he left the locker room and out into the hall.
The act was sudden and impulsive, and Tatsuma found himself unprepared for it. Once they had stopped, Ryosuke let go of the hold on his arm, and took a step back. He looked at his friend confusingly; what was that all about? Was something bothering him about the locker room? Either way, there’d be no point in consulting him about it. He seemed dead set on finding a way out, either way.
"That itself is true." he spoke at last, eyes flicking back and forth from Ryosuke’s gaze. "Though, taking into consideration that they want us to kill each other, I’m not entirely sure if they’d be willing to do it themselves."
The coughing ceased quickly, and so Ryosuke was relieved. Perhaps the chemical attack had been localised, and there was nothing to worry about for the time being. He did not allow any of this to show on his face, however, theorising that remaining stern would keep embarrassments to the minimum in his old friend's presence.
"Perhaps the danger itself will serve as motivation to kill," Ryosuke argued, not to be put out so quickly. "By killing, the danger will abate."
He paused, looking over his friend and their surroundings. He had already covered most of the avenues in his head of likely getaway points, and having found none in the locker room or work out room, he was at something of a loss. He decided to work out his next chain of reasoning out loud, so as not to be standing in silence in front of his companion.
"The dorms are probably especially safeguarded against escape," he said. "We will be spending more time there than other places, reasonably, so they will have made is especially safe against our escape attempts. Library is an unknown quantity, and the kitchen is obviously full of danger. The halls seem unlikely, but we could foray that direction if you wish."
He paused again. "The hall may have hidden exits, which we can look for on our way to the kitchen. Because it has so much potential for death, perhaps the headmasters were less careful in it's construction."
Ryosuke looked up at his friend, questioning.
"Does that sound like a reasonable plan of action?"
