Execution -- Do You See the Stars? They’re Falling.
[#implied escapology trick, #shooting, #poisoning, #needles/darts, #public display of affection, #heights/falling, #implied crushing, #building destruction]
YUKI NAKAHARA HAS BEEN CHOSEN FOR EXECUTION…
LOADING EXECUTION…
100% LOADED.
COMMENCING EXECUTION: “DO YOU SEE THE STARS? THEY’RE FALLING.”
[♫♫♫]
The screen flickers on as usual, the screen taking a moment to flicker, before it presented a dim… area. No, this wasn’t just a simple place, it was… a city, with a cloaked figure seeming to be absentmindedly standing on the sidewalk, a hand carefully slid in their pocket. Upon the camera zooming in, it was notable that this figure was the one that was condemned this trial, before looking up towards the sky.
The stars, they finally got to see them for once.
But they were fake, and they knew that. The sound of sirens interrupted them in no time, making them turn their head towards the noise.
And so it begins. A chase. Nakahara seems to release a hook from their coat, latching it on top of a building before propelling them upwards to the top, with gunshots resonating through the city. It seems the police have arrived to wreck Nakahara’s shit! Well, they seemed to be a few seconds too late, and the chase is on! Jumping from building to building, they narrowly miss bullets shot at them with their stunts, a few of them grazing them as they sprint away.
Of course, they realize that they had weapons equipped on them, so they started shooting back, while jumping around. It was fitting, and too much exercise in all honesty. This was probably a delivery gone horribly wrong, or maybe it’s mocking some anime. Wow, wouldn’t that be a hoot?
“BK-201! Get back here!”
And there was the anime reference. They stopped for a brief second before they started to pick up speed once more. That wasn’t even their name, why did they stop in response of that? Whatever, at least the sound of their guns running out of ammunition, and the gunshots ceasing by the time they lept to another building was satisfactory enough to appropriately slow down.
Eventually, they jump down onto emergency stairs in an alleyway, and speeds down the stairs, only to land on the ground. Upon landing, they notice a car skidding to a stop, with the passenger door flinging open by… a kid? At least, that’s what they could see. The kid sprints away from the car, only to pass by Nakahara, and trip, revealing that the kid had… a gun?
A man walks out of the car, barking out orders in Mandarin. There doesn’t seem to be a response from Nakahara, but a fluid motion of them picking up the kid’s gun, and shooting the man once, twice, three times, they’ve lost count at this point, without hesitation. After that, they grab the kid and sprinted in the opposite direction, their expression as blank as a piece of paper.
(This kid looked awfully similar to them, no?)
Of course, they didn’t expect the ground below them to go ahead and crumble for the both of them, having them fall and fall…
“I don’t want to do this! I don’t want to do this, Uncle. Please, why are you doing this? Why did you–”
…And eventually, they hit the floor. It felt like they’ve been falling forever, but the landing wasn’t that bad. Actually, they took that back at the movement of one of their limbs, still continuing to show no change in expression as they got up from where they were laying, only to look up. Well, that was a thing, wasn’t it?
They instantly rolled off the contraption before it shut together, the spikes on the slate being a huge indicator for them to get out of there. They’d be shocked at the failed attempt on the murder if it weren’t for the fact that they didn’t really care. Standing straight up from where they were, they found themself to be in… an abandoned ballroom?
Now this was turning a way that they didn’t expect.
Standing in the middle was… someone in a labcoat, with shades on their face, and notably red eyes underneath them. Her eyes were towards where Nakahara stood, and extended her hand out, only for Nakahara to walk forwards and grab with their own hand. At this point, it was futile! They knew who this person was, and they knew that they wouldn’t survive this ordeal.
Ah, oh well.
With that, the two started to slow dance together, a jazzy tune replacing the music from before to match the dance. Of course, this dance wasn’t going to last for a long time, but for now, the dance was a nice introduction to their demise. At least, if it didn’t concern with someone close to them.
“Yasuna,” they started to say. “It’s been a while.”
“Yuki… I never really forgot about you.”
Their steps were close and careful, and in return, her steps were awkward and uncalculated, her posture timid and reserved. Stuff like this wanted them to go ahead and kick the person away from them, but yet, they continued dancing, even going as far as to dip the other person. What a dance!
“You should have.”
(It made them sick, it made them so, so sick. Their hands shook slightly, and their expression was twitching slightly. Stop this, stop this, stop, STOP!!)
“I love you.”
Those words almost make them want to go ahead and stain their hands again.
Of course, it was cut off short when Nakahara felt a sharp pain on their arm, making them stop midway, and merely glancing over to the dart that was shot in their arm. From the angle, it must have been someone within the shadows. Eventually, they weakly collapsed to their knees, falling out of Yasuna’s arms.
Oh, wow, were they injected with poison? Human bodies were so fragile like that, weren’t they? Their vision blurred and sharped repeatedly, and they could feel a burning sensation in their arm. Yet, they felt apathy at their oncoming death merely making them look almost really bored that they’ve been poisoned.
They felt themself being gently laid on the floor by the time they’ve come back from their thoughts, making them almost want to cringe. If they had the strength for it, that is. Feeling their head in someone’s lap, they blankly look up at the person, a hand slowly reaching up to place around the other’s neck.
Of course, they planned to strangle that person to death if they didn’t have the lack of strength that they had. Their hand simply dropped from the person’s neck, and they slowly, but surely, continued to die slowly, and painfully. They didn’t know what kind of poison was used, but they were becoming increasingly drowsy. Maybe this was just a tranquilizer to go ahead and sleep during the actual execution.
…Nah.
They gave out a brief laugh at the thought of death approaching them closer and closer. It soon became fainter and fainter, and their expression reverted back to their apathetic look. It suited them better, to go ahead and die like that. Ha ha. Wasn’t it hilarious?
“I… never thought the last person I’d… see before I die… is… you.”
“H-Hush… be still…”
“…I hate…this.”
With that, they closed their eyes, and went silent.
Tears dropped on Nakahara’s cheek with Yasuna’s hand gently placed on their forehead, and the whole room starts crumbling down on the both of them. It starts with the stairs, and then the ceiling, following with the floor. This was an execution after all!
When the ceiling is about to hit them, you could have sworn that you saw a smile on the girl’s face before the screen flickered back off.
YUKI NAKAHARA, SHSL PIZZA DELIVERY BOY HAS BEEN EXECUTED.

They let out a yawn in response to the letter being read out loud.
“Aaaaaaaaalright.”
It’s not like they haven’t read the letters in that book anyways. It was quite boring to wait the whole night out without browsing through the pages. Act of privacy, eh? Well they didn’t really care about that anyways.
“I’ve already skimmed through the letters in that thing. I must admit, Masato Maeda was a woman that was prepared in her death. I almost feel terrible! How unfortunate.”
They turn their head over at Haruki, only to look over to the side.
“What a shame. It’s a good thing whatever was going on, it was one of my phobias. He he. I hope you don’t die. Seriously, I hope you don’t die. Don’t die. Don’t. Do not.”
Seriously, the last thing they wanted was that! Hah, how funny. It was hilarious! Hilarious…
“Don’t get attached, boy. People are so fragile, the pain ain’t worth it.”
“I won’t. Actually, it’s more like… I can’t.”
…
They hum to themself, turning on the console with a press of a button.
nyoohoohoo || nakahara yuki || abnormal days || re: haru, stella || attn: monomi
They merely took a seat on top of their podium, swinging their legs back and forth as they checked their invisible watch on their wrist. Oh look, it’s time to liberate the gays! Nah, joking, they couldn’t do that. It’s time for d e a t h.
“I guess I can say anything. Yeah, I did shoot Masato Maeda to death. Eye for an eye… that’s just like what my father said. I guess I do agree, but your existence seems to annoy me, so no, I don’t.”
“Pfffthhh, ha ha. I’m waiting for my death, idiot. What do you think I’ve been doing? I’ve been answering questions and talking to pass the time! Hey, Monomi-kun, where are you?”
They jump down from their podium and walk over to Monomi, only to give him a fistbump!
“I want to die swinging! If I can’t get back to my mother, then I’d want to die swinging and with a bang! You probably know who I am, you’d make a cool execution for me, right? Nice, I don’t expect a response. Hahah.”
Annnd they go back to their own podium, sitting on it, with the gaming console in their hands. Wait, no, they had a question to answer!
“I don’t remember, or want to know. You’re actually hard to hear- not that I’m asking you to speak up. Even with this hearing aid… hm. Whatever!”

evil macklemore || nakahara yuki || trial || re: haruki, haru
They didn’t seem to show much of a reaction throughout the explanation, until the end, where they had a soft smile on their face. Information was fun to have in the end after all! It shouldn’t hurt to go ahead and learn something new from people before dying.
Dying… huh? Funny.
"Good luck. She talked to me about those people. I guess they deserve to know how their child died. Tell them that "Lambda" killed her. You can have it, I ripped out the pages that I wrote on. I think those aren’t needed, no?"
"… I really don’t understand you. Soo, you’re saying that I have to play the role of the villain? I mean, heros constantly kill people. Sometimes there’s fake heros. Also, the justice system is flawed. Do you know how much money can you go ahead and use to bribe judges to let you off the case? I don’t comprehend your logic, and I will reject it, because I can’t help it. But…”
They let out a small chuckle, raising their hand in front of their mouth. A mocking gesture!
"What is the definition of ‘justice’ then? Is it to kill other people for killing people? Is it the justice system’s justice? Is it your flawed justice? Is it dependable on bias? Is it based on the media? I’d love to know. Please, continue."
With that, they picked up their gaming console, thumbs on the keys.

(#mentions of a panic attack, #mentions of infections)
They merely clapped their hands in response of the outburst directed at them, their expression dropping into an expression of utter apathy. Well done! Well played! They’ve finally been caught, and they had some questions to answer. Well, at least it wasn’t a test, they’ve never been good at tests anyways.
"Before I answer your questions, I’d like to address something.
Their head moved over in the direction of Haru, with an uncaring look on their face.
"My name is Yuki Nakahara. A hero wouldn’t go ahead and disregard someone’s humanity like that. I prefer my name being said than a name. Are you going on the cowardly route of merely calling them a "murderer", when you are one yourself? You are all guilty with blood on your hands. How different are we? I don’t understand.”
They tap their fingers together in an idle mood.
"Heros are only made by life threatening situations. Outside of these situations, there are no heros. I don’t get it. You disregard that murderers are human beings, and you disregard that you cannot understand why they go ahead and act out of the social norm."
Slam! Their hand was on the podium, yet their expression never seemed to change from that unamused look.
"I wanted to go home. Heros aren’t making that faster. My mother is probably having a panic attack over my disappearance. My uncle is probably the one causing that, and my father died a long time ago. My brother died before then- from a financial crisis! I stained my hands with blood because my family is more important than people who’d want to kill me! I don’t trust you, I’ve never trusted you. You all would have killed me, and I’d be forgotten."
"Next question. Why did I kill her? Because it was smart to do so. She was one of the lead investigators, so I killed her. I guess that’s the explanation you’d like to hear, classmates. By the way, Stella, you’d probably want to treat that after I die. It may get infected- that’s not good when there aren’t any hospitals around."
They merely hold the notebook that they had in their hands, and ripped out a page, two pages, and crumpled them up. Then they placed it back down onto their podium.
"Announce the promise and I’ll give it to you. I don’t do things without justifiable reason."

"Why is my luck this bad…"
They shook their head in their disbelief. Were people really thinking that they… no, that’s probably just assumption. Maybe? The vote for them was something that they really didn’t find so great for them, and it was… rather stressful for this amount of pressure on them.
"The ‘S’ or ‘N’ must have been intended for some singular letter if the victim was bleeding out. If it was intended for both, then wouldn’t it be seen as a ‘Z’ then? Why didn’t the culprit go ahead and remove the message entirely? There was enough time to go ahead and remove a message like that- unless it was planted by the culprit to lead suspicion away from them. This may sound desperate, but I don’t want someone else to die- and I don’t want to potentially die from random chance."
"There’s 18 people here, right? Out of the few that spoke, how come I’m the one accused? What if the culprit isn’t talking, and letting someone take the fall? It’s a better method to take, in my opinion, of someone who’d want to kill and get away with killing the debater. C’mon… the thought of someone innocent dying is making me sick to my stomach."
shinji votes for monomi like >:D i guess
fallen meteor || nakahara shinji || trial || re: haruki, damian, stella || attn: stella
"It’s… a long story, but I really hate it when people steal from me without my knowledge. One time someone stole my housekey from me, and that terrified me! I mean, my mom threw a fit when she found out that I didn’t have it. If you want, anyone can have the keycard after this trial… if I don’t get randomly executed, that is. Please, it’s kind of stressful to have that keycard… that’s actually why I gave back Nuiko’s ID card a while back to Masato. But to think that someone took it… I don’t know who’d do that, but that’s… I don’t know. It wasn’t me, that’s for sure."
Shinji turned their head over to Haruki, only to shake their head.
"I’m sorry, but this notebook is private… I never thought that someone’s notebook would have been stolen during this case, so this is… god awful timing. I can read it to you if you want, I have no problem doing that. It’s just… this is my diary, and I wanted to be useful in this trial, so I took my notebook to take down some notes… I won’t remember details if I don’t write them down. I mean…"
They pick up the notebook and show the page that they were on at the time to everyone, holding it out to see the pages. Surely enough, there seemed to be bulletpoints (in ink), and crossed out things in the two pages shown.
"These are my notes on this case. Most of them are crossed out, and the rest of the pages are my diary entries during the course of this place. I don’t really like using the back of the pages to use for my entries, but when it comes to notes… I guess I don’t really care? Plus, this notebook was from my room. Stella, you checked my room, right? My notebook wasn’t there at all, right on my desk. I always prevented people from looking through it no matter what."
"Also, I did put back Ellie’s notebook. I got Ellie’s keycard from Jimon after we traded keycards, and I placed it back. It was all personal stuff anyways… might as well respect it."
With that, they took off both of their shoes, and shook them upside down. Nothing really fell out.
"There’s nothing there…"
Thanks, captain obvious.
ark of stars || nakahara shinji || trial || re: stella, haruki
"Goodness…"
They merely placed their own ID card, and the Supar Mayro Kratt gaming console on the podium in response to someone taking out stuff from their pockets. Wait! They also take out… a pen, and placed it behind an ear.
"This is… all that I had in my pockets."
Wait. Stripping? Well fuck, did they have to do that…? From the looks of it, the blacksmith looked like she’d beat up anyone who didn’t. Wait, wouldn’t that defeat the purpose? Well, it was still terrifying, so that was semi-effective in it’s original purpose.
"Um. I guess I can strip…? I mean, I don’t really have high pain tolerance- I can’t even withstand someone pinching my cheek… ow, that’s a bad thought to have. But anyways… err. Wait, can someone pat me down for injuries? Or maybe I can try and do some physical activities… This is embarrassing… I’m extremely positive I don’t have any injuries on me, especially from a gun!"
"Goodness… that would hurt a lot, wouldn’t it?"
Thank you, Captain Obvious.
"Oh… An… An ‘S’? Goodness… I… actually tried to see if it was some kind of kanji letter, but that makes sense…"
They weren’t that bright, it seemed. But with this being an ‘s’… did their name start with one? Wait, yes, yes it did. Oh goodness, then that meant… oh boy. This trial was going to be a doozy, wasn’t it…?
Oh, the victim’s room, and their name being mentioned. They perked their head up at the sound of their name, raising an eyebrow in response.
"Ah, I actually didn’t get to enter into the victim’s room. I was planning to before I gave Stella the ID card! I figured… she’d do a better job at investigating someone’s room than I could, in all honesty. Hahah…"
They paused.
"Somehow… I really don’t like the sound of this. Why do you ask…?"
finally. im in. Okay, Shinji notes down some details about the scene of the crime with the notebook they had. They compare the victim's... shoe to the bruises. Okay, they're trying. Uh. The victim's fingers, are they bloody ? wow, repeating questions... this is for the ic aesthetic
The shoe doesn’t match the bruises, and Masato’s fingers aren’t bloody. You’re trying, Shinji. We’re all proud of you.
Shinji stumbles into the investigation after taking care of a room search, hesitantly investigating the body. Is there anything on Masato? Like... anything. They've already noted that the pistol has been taken. Also, what kind of injuries are on the body?
There’s nothing left to be found on Masato’s body. As for injuries there are three gunshot wounds, one in her leg and two in her chest. Further investigation reveals heavy bruising on her side and scratches on her hands.
im dying from febreeze || nakahara shinji || abnormal days || re: body discovery
Shinji honestly couldn’t believe what they saw when they were called to go to the research center. Honestly, he didn’t expect one of the main investigators (as weird as that could be) to be taken down like… that.
Honestly, it was… morbid. It was almost as morbid as that one case that was… who was it… oh right, the geocacher. How long have they been here for them to forget already! Shame on them, shame on them indeed…
"…Ah."
Well… it was time to be (semi) useful, right? Oh god, this was going to be a rocky ride.
