Rin smiled at Adrian’s impressions of the various monsters that had been in the haunted house. Jacques cocked his head at the pilot’s werewolf impression and barked in response, which was the feather that broke the camel’s back. Rin couldn’t hold her laughter in anymore and she found herself cracking up. As she settled down, she heard Adrian asking about where the two should go next. She turned and looked at Jacques at the suggestion that there might be somewhere he wanted to go. The dog trainer could tell by the look in his eyes that he had one thing on his mind: Food. “I reckon he’s expecting a treat for being a good boy and sitting outside the house.” She gave him a quick scratch behind the ears and he began wagging his tail. “You up for some food?”
At the word, ‘food’, Jacques hopped to his feet and began walking in the direction of the food stalls. He stopped once he was a few yards away and turned to look over his shoulder at the two, as though asking them to hurry up. Rin smiled and looked at him, then to Adrian. “Race ya’ there!” She chuckled, clapped the pilot on the back and began running in Jacques’ direction. “Catch me if ya’ can!” She called over her shoulder, focusing on winning the race and letting their bleak situation melt into the background.
Laughter really was the best medicine. And given the situation there wasn't anything they could do but laugh. Things were definitely taking a turn for the better and despite the murders and that bear's presence it wasn't impossible to have fun. He continued to laugh at his stupidity before finally managing to calm himself down. He watched Jacques run off as Rin mentioned food to him. He was certainly no SHSL Dog Trainer but he could see, or at least guess that Jacques understood everything that was going on. Those same thoughts also made him wonder just how this dog managed to survive for so long in this place. That bear seemed to have a strong control over everything maybe it was just part of his plan or maybe it was a simple mistake. Something that went wrong but turned out to be a positive. But Adrian highly doubted that. He would have to bring up these questions to Rin.
Adrian heard his stomach moan followed by Rin's challenge. It was impossible for him to turn down such a notion and he wouldn't hold back. Running was something that he enjoyed, he wasn't the best but it was enjoyable nonetheless. He'd become so consumed by his thoughts that by the time he recovered from his trance Rin had already gained a good lead over him. "Hey wait for me!" he called, but that was a stupid thing to say-this was a race after all and that's not how things worked. He laughed to himself as he ran towards Rin. "I can still win! Just you watch out!" He retorted. As he advanced his thoughts began to swim again. There was still soo much that he wanted to know. Why they were here, where was here-it wasn't the school which he'd planned to attend, the murdering, everything. So much was still left unanswered. He looked towards the sky imagining that he was flying and his arms instinctively spread out as he mimicked a plane. This wasn't the best technique to use in a race, naturally it would slow you down but for Adrian he gained a boost. An adrenaline rush. Flying was his ecstasy and he was flying high.
It wasn't until he stopped running that he realized he'd ran right past the food stalls. He tried his best to casually rejoin Rin and Jacques but his embarrassment could easily be read. "Aha about that....I just got a bit distracted and yeah..." his voice trailed off. His thoughts wouldn't contribute much as Rin was probably stuck in the same boat that he was in. All these unanswered questions just kept building up, every time he thought that something was starting to make sense something else would contradict it. He sighed putting the thoughts aside. The stalls certainly did smell good, he began on another useless plane of thoughts thinking about who made the food and how they even got it here without being noticed. "Let's eat!" Adrian declared as he scanned the stalls. "This certainly looks better than half the things they serve at the cafeteria!"
