Alright, so I apologize for certain things in my last post. I didn’t mean to cause paranoia/heighten anxiety, etc by saying ‘you know who you are’. Even so, I do not apologize for the majority of the post, stating how I really felt. At the time, I felt like there was no one to turn to but myself to let everyone know how I and some others in the group felt. I know I was tired of feeling the way I did without letting others know, especially since the actions I mentioned didn’t cease. This went on for months.   I’d also like to add that, given how skype is not working well for me at all, I’m having trouble accessing it. I’ve probably pissed off everyone, so I’m just gonna high tail it from the community. Sorry I’m an awful person. : ( Didn’t mean to make people hate me: That wasn’t my intention. I was just honestly telling you how I felt and there was no harm meant. But I guess I can’t enjoy an rp without offending people, so time for me to go I guess... Even if I don’t want to.

I’d like to discuss something...

Hi. If you’re reading this, you may (or may not) have noticed that I’ve been inactive, as well as absent from the chat. There are a few reasons for that:  While originally, I did enjoy being part of this group, the truth of the matter is? I feel like most (not all) of you are treating me like an outsider whenever I try to say a word. Whenever I so much as say HI in chat, I get ignored immediately by certain people and the subject changes. As if I, the mun, was never there to begin with.  Now, before I go further into excruciating detail, let me note 4 things:  1) You know who you are and it isn’t nice.  2) I do have anxiety and depression. I have been diagnosed with both, and I also am quite sensitive to top it off. Sometimes I CAN be offended by little things. For that, I’m sorry. I’m working on that and no one is perfect.  3) I have folks who back me up on the fact that this isn’t just me freaking out over nothing. AND, most importantly,  4) I am NOT writing this to attack you (you all know who you are though...) Just think of this as if you were in my shoes or someone else’s who was treated this way. What if you, the mun, were treated like this in chats? What if you were ignored for no reason and made to feel insignificant or like no one cared? Your feelings would be hurt, right? So, why do it to other people? This is supposed to be fun for everyone. But, when you keep others from feeling or being included, you are often making them feel insignificant or unwanted.  ...It is for this reason that I may, in fact, leave the rp. I feel unwanted, try as I may to engage in the conversation. When you are ignoring people over and over again in a chat (yes, even when it isn’t currently being flooded with messages), you are engaging in toxic behavior. 

 I really don’t enjoy writing this post. I think you are all wonderful people with wonderful characters and writing skills, but my feelings are hurt and I know I’m not the only one. So if you care at all about me or anybody else who feels this way, please be kind. Please try to include others. I know I try to every single day that I converse in groups. It’s the kind and right thing to do.  I will also end with this: Just because you don’t like a mun’s character doesn’t mean that you have to treat the mun in a hurtful way too. The mun’s character IS NOT the mun themselves. Sometimes, I just feel like people get so caught up in their own characters and their feelings to remember this. Really though, we can all be at fault in that respect.

On the flipside, Ammy had much more important things to worry about than a simple confession. True, it was cathartic to finally see Nobu’s murderer be revealed, but considering she had long-suspected Ava anyways (and her interactions with Emiko, Nolan and Armin post-trial only cemented her guess), it felt more like a confirmation than anything particularly revelation-worthy. Right now, there was still the issue of, you know, possibly dying in a couple of days because the random number god didn’t like her. In addition, the reveal caused a lot of uproar, and while some resolved themselves (Chie was a good, Hiromichi was a loud and Ripley was a meme) there were…some things that needed to be handled imperatively.

Her roommate, for example.

The elder Shinozaki had stormed off midway, and honestly Ammy couldn’t blame her for wanting to be alone right then. But now that Ava was presumably nowhere close-by, she felt like she had to find the elder Shinozaki and ensure she was alright and not painting a target on her back. Besides, even if you’d never get her to admit it out loud, she did care for the Barista. Admittedly, she didn’t care enough to censor the following words that were uttered when she eventually found the short girl, but the thought was present.

“Do you want me to make fun of you, Chiemi?” Ammy crossed her arms, half-amused, half-exasperated. “Sorry, but if you were looking for a comedian I’d have looked for Hiromichi. Dude’s a walking joke.” Nevertheless, after a while, Ammy does sit down by Chiemi’s side to place a comforting hand on her back.

Tears were still streaming down the barista’s cheeks as Ammy came up to her. Considering how her roommate spoke, Chiemi didn’t take it offensively. On the contrary, she was very relieved to see the girl before her, rather than someone like Aiko, Stefanie or Armin. Those were folks she detested the most right now, even as she was still slightly pissed at Ava.  By Chiemi’s feet was a piece of cloth that likely belonged to Stefanie. Judging by its current state, Chiemi had done a number to it, just as she had with her fists. She was only now feeling the pain from everything she did, having been fueled by pure hot anger.  Chiemi couldn’t help but chuckle despite herself at Ammy’s response. Her touch and words were very much welcome in her slightly broken world.  “He’s disgusting sheeple. Just as bad as Pimenta, Yamamoto and Mancini. ....You think you can trust them, but only as far as you can throw them.” After saying this, Chiemi let out a slightly relieved sigh.  “You want to know the weird thing? I’m not as mad at Alkaev. I’m annoyed she’d so readily use Chie and I as scapegoats to be thrown under the bus after the fact, but I’m not as mad at her as I am at almost everyone else. Assholes, the lot of them. Thinking I’d kill when I have folks I’m looking after here.”  Having been wearing her apron this time around for seemingly no reason at all, Chiemi took it off and started wiping her tears with it. She couldn’t help but vent, especially when someone she so clearly cared about was here. Without Ammy or Emiko, Chiemi would crumble completely to nothing. That said, it was kind of comical when a few espresso beans fell out of her apron pocket.

So here they were. The culprit finally made herself known and Chiemi was understandably livid. There were many reasons she felt this way, but the fact that Ava killed Nobu wasn’t one of them. Deep down, she knew shit was hitting the fan faster than she could say such a sentence. Everyone was scared and the barista felt honestly betrayed. From a former ‘friend’ telling her to shut up for no reason whatsoever to most pointing fingers in her direction as the 'definite killer’ from Aiko and Armin’s own words; all Chiemi could see was white hot anger as she dashed the fuck out of there and called most people out on their utter bullshit. She even put two middle fingers way up so anyone who turned might notice her hatred.  However, not once did she raise her voice. Not once did she yell at people, even if some folks treated her like dumpster remains. She felt so many things as she stomped off, trying her best to calm down.  …Yeah, that wasn’t happening. If she had anything Stefanie gave her on her person, Chiemi ripped that thing to shreds and stomped on it over and over.  Specifically, Chiemi did this once she went to her calm spot at the koi pond. She felt tears streaming down her face as she punched and punched at some nearby wall until her knuckles were red. She even kicked at it too all the while screaming at the world and thanking everyone for fucking her over 'oh so much’.  She did the majority of her screaming, punching, stomping and kicking while everyone was screaming or whatever at or away from Ava. When she was finished, Chiemi sat down at the koi pond and continued to sob. Damn it!  “…The fuck do you want. *hic* Come to make fun of me? If that’s what you’re here for, have fun laughing. I don’t give a shit anymore…."  Despite her harsh words, she seemed to have calmed down. She was only crying at this point as she sat there, peeved as could be.

“Ah, it’s probably nothing, it’s just usually people’s legs don’t make sounds like that.” Nolan really doesn’t want to pry, but it seems like she’s actually unsure, so it’s not like he’s getting into any secrets or anything here. “Wait, years? You haven’t?” That shocks him briefly. “Not even for like, yearly check-ups? Chiemi-san that’s not good, I mean, I might be biased since I’m studying for a medical degree but it’s still important to have annual exams done by a doctor. How have you been getting away with that? You’re required to have all your vaccinations up to date to attend public school, you know, so you should at least be getting that taken care of…”

God, Nolan, you sound like someone’s dad. He seems to realize that he’s accidentally entered some kind of concerned parental lecture mode and quickly dials it back, his cheeks turning pink as he awkwardly glances away. “Ah, sorry, you just… caught me by surprise there, I guess. But I mean… of course I want to help you. We’re friends, aren’t we? And… that’s what friends do. Look out for each other.” It seems like he’d skipped past a big chunk of what she’d said, but as he looks up at her again there’s a worried, thoughtful expression on his face.

“I understand, and I’m not saying you’re wrong, but… what if the person couldn’t come forward…? Not just wouldn’t but like, actually… couldn’t…” Nolan sighs and shakes his head. Even he knows that didn’t make much sense. “Nevermind. I’m just… still really frazzled by everything. L-look, don’t say that, I’m sure you’ll make it out alive. We all just need to stick together and hold on. I know it’s… hard to feel safe… I don’t either, really, but… if we do our best to support each other and keep trying to figure this out, I’m sure we all have a chance. So don’t go counting yourself out so easily, okay?”

Knock Knock | Nolan | Closed for Chiemi

What on earth was that? Nolan’s gaze darts down to her legs, curious and concerned, that didn’t sound good. “Um, are you okay? Wait, stupid question, that’s not what I meant. Do you need to sit down? You don’t have joint problems or anything, do you?” She seems a little young for that, but juvenile arthritis is a thing. As are any number of other conditions that might affect joints. But that’s not what he came to talk about.  Nolan takes a breath and steps into the room, letting her have a chance to talk. He obligingly shuts and locks the door behind him when she asks, but stays near it, not wanting to crowd her or anything.

“Look, I’m sure no one wants to kill you… what happened during trial was just… a mess. Everyone was really upset, I don’t know if anyone was thinking clearly… but I know you didn’t kill Asanuma-san. I can… try talking to some of the others, but I really don’t think anyone is planning to hurt you anyway.” Nolan tugs at his collar, twisting it around his neck anxiously.

“If anything… I really hope people are just going to try to move on…” He looks down at the floor, biting the inside of his cheek again. It’s definitely sore, but the action is strangely grounding. “Even if everyone did know who the real culprit was, attacking them now wouldn’t solve anything. It… it wasn’t even their fault really, what happened. They just wanted to save someone important to them. So it’s really better to… just let it go…”

Chiemi looked equally surprised at Nolan’s question. Joint problems? That couldn’t be...could it? The idea terrified her, but it couldn’t be throw out the window, could it? “I....hope not. I don’t think I do, anyway...” She nervously looks to the side for a moment before adding. “I haven’t been to the doctors for several years, so...I mean I’m probably fine...” That wasn’t very convincing. Still, the girl sat down on her futon, just in case. Was she alright? “I want to move on, but I think...the person, whomever did it, should confess and apologize to Chie. ....She got the brunt of it. All because we were all selfish.” That was strange, considering how badly she wanted an apology from Armin before. But now was not the time for anymore of that. “I...I mean, I’d like to be safe, but....how can anyone feel safe after all of that?” There were some sense in her words, even though she sounded a bit like she brought it up out of nowhere.  “You’re right; attacking them would do nothing now. Coming forward, however, would do a world of good. I just don’t know if I could handle seeking out that truth. Or coming out of this room.” She took a moment to pause before realizing what Nolan said before. “Really? You’d do that for me? But I’ve been...such a damn nuisance.” She offered a weak, yet lighthearted chuckle at this. Nolan was really too kind to her.  “You’ll probably make it out of here alive, you know? I probably won’t, but you will. So I guess, when the time comes, I’ll give you something to give to my big brother. Is that...a little forward?” Well that came out of left field!

The door opens and for a second Nolan feels a bit of hope that this won’t be so bad after all- and then he actually sees her. Holy shit, Chiemi looks terrible. Even after everything that’s happened, Nolan hasn’t been neglecting his morning routine. If anything it’s become more important to him than ever that he take care of his appearance, since there’s so much else for people to judge him for now. Apparently Chiemi hasn’t been able to do that, though. Guilt gnaws at his stomach, he hadn’t noticed before because she didn’t give off red flags the way… well. It was pretty obvious now, anyway.

“It’s okay, Chiemi-san, I’m not upset with you.” Nolan assures her quickly. The way she’d lashed out had been alarming, but it was really Armin she owed the apology to for that, not him, and judging by the sign on her door he doesn’t think that’s going to happen anytime soon… for now he thinks it’s more important to help her, though. “I… if anything I should be the one apologizing… I got everything wrong, and because of me…”

It’s hard to continue, Nolan bites the inside of his cheek and looks away for a moment. “Um, is it okay if I come in to talk?”

As Chiemi stood behind the door, a small snap could be heard from her knees. She winced, but didn’t make much of a response besides that. She tried to make a quick recovery from this, but it met another sound. Even though this small happening, Chiemi looked up to watch Nolan once more. She was merely observing him, unsure of how to proceed.  “It’s ok if you are. It’s...my fault too. Now almost everyone thinks I killed him when I barely met him once. ...No one will believe me though. I probably deserve that, huh?” There was a bit of an emotional tinge to her words as she said them. The barista bit her lower lip as a means to keep from crying. Whether or not it would be effective remained to be seen though. For now, no tears fell, but how long could that last? “You did nothing wrong. I should....have never said a word. If I were like I am right now, maybe they wouldn’t hunt me down, like they plan to.” She almost said something else, but the girl bit down on her lip once more.  At Nolan’s question, Chiemi nodded. “Y-yes. But please lock the door behind you, alright?” There was some definite shakiness to her voice now. As she brought the boy in, Chiemi walked to her futon and slowly moved some of her things off the bed.

Wow okay that sign on the door was not a good… sign. Apparently whatever had happened to Chiemi during the trial hadn’t been dissipated much by a good night’s sleep. Then again maybe she hadn’t had a good night’s sleep. It wasn’t like Nolan had slept particularly well, and it was pretty likely that no one else had either… but he doesn’t have x-ray vision so he can’t see through the door and tell what state Chiemi is in right now.

At least he knows she’s in there, judging by the frightened voice coming from the other side. Oh dear.

“Hey, it’s Mizuhara… Nolan…” Nolan calls back, feeling a little awkward talking through a door. Her question makes him jolt slightly, “What? No! Of course I’m not- Chiemi-san, it’s okay, I’m not going to hurt you. I just want to talk.”

Chiemi slowly opened the door. She liked Nolan since she first met him, as he was such a kind and caring soul. In a way, he kind of reminded her of her big brother. Unfortunately, Chiemi didn’t have the courage to tell him such a thing. Not right at this moment, when she was scared of everything. Even the simplest knock on the door was a war declaration in this horrible place.  “...Really?” He could probably see the girl fully now as she opened the door. She had many choice things she could say, but the girl figured she said enough spiteful things the time before. The barista held onto the door, as if it were a shield to defend. She wanted to trust Nolan, even put down her defenses for him, but the girl was too frightened and unsure to do so just yet. That trial was just like a nightmare.  “....I’m sorry. About yesterday. I....was being stupid defensive.” She looked down on the ground and then up at Nolan. It was as if she were a kid who told their elder she’d broken the family vase or something. What else could be said though? How could she say it eloquently without getting emotional or upset again?

First thing the morning after trial, Nolan had gone to get breakfast. He wasn’t really feeling up to it, but he knew that as much as he wanted to wallow in his room and hide forever in the company of Cyrille and Takeshi, that wasn’t a viable option. If he didn’t force himself to get up and continue on, he was going to fall into an even deeper depression, and he couldn’t allow that. There were people counting on him, and people he needed to check in on. It was bad enough he’d messed up so much during the trial, now it was time to suck it up and try to make amends. If he didn’t want to be a failure, he’d just have to work harder.

So, breakfast! Despite his best efforts his appetite just isn’t there, so Nolan only manages a few pieces of fruit and a cup of coffee, but that’s still better than nothing. He’s actually feeling a lot better just from this small accomplishment, so he decides that maybe it’s a good time to start doing the things he planned on doing. Checking on Chiemi is at the top of the list. He’s… a little unsure how to feel about her right now, but they’d been friends before the trial, hadn’t they? And he doesn’t want to stop now. Besides, she’d looked kind of… completely awful at the end of it. He hopes her cousin has been looking after her.

Nolan heads over to building five, and knocks on the door of room nine. He senses there is going to be a lot of door-knocking in his future. Considering his own wish to hide away he supposes he can’t blame anyone else for wanting to do it, so he’ll just have to be the one to go to them. Even if his nerves are already starting to act up again as he waits for an answer.

It had been a day since that first trial. Chiemi would barely leave her room, unless Ammy, Steffie or Emi were by her side. Even then, she never really slept or anything, her thoughts keeping her up. She probably looked worse for wear, but the barista seemed to care little at this point. She wore an oversized boxing t shirt, black cloth shorts and no shoes or socks at this time. Without make up on or hair bows either, the girl looked more like a short haired Samara from ‘The Ring’. The bags under her eyes didn’t do the girl much justice either as she paced around her room like a lunatic.  Chiemi jumped at the door being knocked and paused, clasping a hand to hide the small gasp. She certainly hadn’t expected someone to come after her this soon! If they truly wanted to do her harm, they could do it easily. She was rattled beyond belief, lacking in rest and quite disheveled for...well, her. Chiemi seemed to care very much for her appearance, so like this, she was definitely not doing too hot. The girl was so paranoid, she put a sign on the door that said: “Aiko Sato and Armin Pimenta aren’t welcome. this is an Armin-Aiko free zone.”. How Ammy could even deal with this girl’s paranoia was anyone’s guess.  “W-who is it?” She finally asked after a moment. Her voice had a little squeak to it, making her seem a bit more pathetic. She didn’t know what she could do if this was Aiko or Armin. She didn’t have anything to defend myself with, save for the locked door. “You’re....not here to kill me, are you?”

Takeshi frowned… He seemed to genuinely tense up at the ‘big brother’ bit, but quickly pushed it away. The other didn’t know he had lost his own big brother, but he didn’t want to get into it.

…

[Definitely. I went through it. You can’t be strong forever. You break down eventually and then can’t give up your crutches.]

Takeshi gestured with the cigarette. He disliked smoking so much.

[You have to take care of yourself too. I’m sure we’re willing to help you and your cousin.]

He wasn’t paying much attention to his own coffee right now, but once he was done writing, he drank some.

If Takeshi reacted at all about the mention of a big brother, Chiemi hardly noticed. Perhaps, for a moment anyway, she was caught up in her own thoughts?  “Thanks, really.”  Had her ciggarette gone out already? She’d hardly noticed. Chiemi let out a small exhale before adding.  “Lets just get the hell out of here together. Soon as we find an opening. Everyone has a weakness, after all. We just gotta find the weakness of whomever the hell has us here, right?”

Chiemi seems pretty sincere. That look of confusion plus the smile…maybe she wasn’t teasing her? But why would she say those things though…Ava doesn’t understand.

“O-Oh…no you’re…fine…I just…Um…it…doesn’t matter…I guess…“

Ava blinks. Armies? Battle strategies? How did this girl get that from her talent? The statistician is baffled for a few seconds before a look of understanding shoots across her face. Oh! Maybe Chiemi is thinking of something else entirely? That’d make more sense…

“Do you…mean a…tactician…maybe…? It’s…not like that…I…um…work with…mathematics…specifically with…probability…and correlation…If you…think of…things like…luck…or how things…affect other things…I study…those numbers…“

That’s pretty simplified, but that should work to explain what she does. Ava gets a sparkle in her eye when she mentions luck, her mouth twitching into a little smile for a brief moment.

“That’s…fine with me…Please…make yourself at…home…Chiemi-san…“

Nodding, she opens the door the rest of the way and retreats further into the room. She makes her way over to the table to sit down. Ava tucks her legs underneath her, her dress covering most of her lower body. She worries at the edge of her scarf, rubbing the tassels in between her gloved fingers, before quietly asking a question that’s on her mind.

“If it’s…okay to ask…what’s…your talent…? I haven’t…really looked at…the class list…sorry…“

“Oh I see! Like Statistics! Perhaps I read your talent wrong. My sincerest apologies! Please tell me if I offended you!”  The girl bowed at the poor shy girl twice, a look of pure embarrassment on her face. Hopefully she didn’t make Ava feel bad. Or did it make Chiemi seem a little dim witted? Oh well, it didn’t matter, now did it?  “That’s pretty cool though! I’ve never been any good with numbers even though I’m working towards working on opening my own cafe in Okinawa~ Maybe it’s a good reason my big bro is going to school to be my manager, since he’s almost as good with numbers as I bet you are. You two...would get along well. Assuming....”  Chiemi’s gaze went outside, a sigh escaping her lips. Hopefully Ava would ignore that? Still, she looked worried about something, but said nothing. It didn’t matter anyway, right? Everything would turn out a ok. It had to.  Chiemi joins her at the table, offering her usual warm smile. That worried look if replaced with something that seems genuine at least. When Ava asks the question, Chiemi waves her hand and nods.  “Think nothing of it, my dear~ I’m a super high school level Barista. Naturally, its part of my job to memorize names and the like. Even I sometimes have trouble with it sometimes though.”

At least she was honest. Takeshi was a bit taken back by it but it was likely her wording. Scared shitless was definitely one way to say it. He couldn’t help but wonder how worried Chiemi was.

[You wouldn’t be the only one. For now, sticking together will hopefully help.]

They were all going through the same thing after all… Except one. The Ousama.

[Don’t wear yourself out. Acting strong is okay, but you don’t have to be strong all the time. That’s bad for you.]

There was a sad glance, but he seemed to follow her as she spoke about going to the kitchen. He paid a bit more attention to his cigarette as he walked. Writing while shaking was hard enough. Now add walking? Impossible.

Chiemi looked down at her fingers and bit her lower lip. She often wouldn’t show it, but each passing day, she was ready to see her big brother on that board ouji had ‘oh so kindly’ posted up for them. She then looked away from that and back up at Takeshi.  “You’re probably right. I just...after this motive, I really want to see my big brother. Just....not on that board. Anything but that board.”  She put a mouth to her coffee and blew on it, the steam moving in a different direction as she did. Takeshi’s next words surprised her a little though. She didn’t need to be strong all the time? Really?  “You...really think so? That it’s bad for me? Would it...be weird of me to ask why?”  She cocked her head to the side, obviously curious at what he had to say or, in this case, write. She then took a moment, realizing she might need to take the time to explain herself so she didn’t sound condescending or something.  “Sorry. I guess what I mean to say is, that’s all I’ve ever known. That probably sounds strange, huh?” She disregarded her own response with a smile and shrug.

Chiemi couldn’t help but find herself surprised at the voice that followed into their room. Emiko was here to visit, hmm? How wonderfully exciting~ Of course, in a situation like this, the barista could only imagine that her words could sound a little wrong if an observer heard them from afar. Perhaps it sounded like something of the lecherous nature might be going down?

“Emi?! Hello, yes I’m here.”

The more the barista thought about it, the more amused she probably sounded. After all, it couldn’t be helped, now could it? Her cousin catching her in such an interesting situation? Why, it was fortunate for Nobu that he hadn’t undressed, now wasn’t it? Of course, the poor guy probably felt positively disgusting by now.  Now it seemed Nobu was asking about Emi. So he hadn’t met her cousin yet, had he? Now, he had twice the Shinozaki occurence! Well, if Nolan and Hitoshi could survive it, so too could Nobu! After all, there’s no party quite like a Shinozaki party! 

“Nah: That’s my cousin, Emi~ She’s probably the prettier of the two of us. Oh Emi: We’re gonna help poor Nobu here clean his clothes. Wanna help?” 

Would this put them in an interesting predicament? You bet it would~

“E-excuse me,” she answered as she opened the door. And there they were, soaking wet. Emiko was thankful she caught them just before things got too naughty!!  “Oh, laundry?” she repeated. The girl crossed her arms and smiled with a slight tilt to her head. “I can help with that, if you’d like. Doing laundry properly without a machine is a little bit of an inconvenience, but it isn’t impossible.”

Oh! She forgot to introduce herself. She was just so caught up in her excitement about being able to do chores that the thought completely slipped her mind. She approached the boy and gave him a small bow. “I’m Emiko Shinozaki. It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance.”

For his part, Nobuteru seems entirely oblivious to both the image Chiemi is trying to construct and the image Emiko is developing in her head. He sees the situation for what it is- a couple people hanging out in the dorm room, one of whom happens to be soaking wet. Pure boy. Still, he doesn’t seem fully comfortable with the situation, and smiles a bit awkwardly as Emiko approaches, offering her a little bow in return.

“Ah, I’m Nobuteru Asanuma. It’s nice to meet you as well, Shinozaki-san! Wait… Shinozaki-san and Shinozaki-san… That’s going to be a little confusing. I guess that must come with the territory of having a cousin here, right? Is there anything else I should call either of you?”

Calling them both the same name would get very weird very fast. He smiles appreciatively when Emiko offers laundry help.

“Oh, that would be really nice of you! But I can help too. I don’t just want to dump all the responsibility on you two! I’ll need to get changed first, so… Gosh, I’m sorry to ask you any favours when I’ve been welcomed into your room! But could the two of you maybe just turn away for a minute? Privacy and all, haha. I’ll be done quick!”

Chiemi smiles at the poor wet and confused boy. She even goes ahead and closes the door behind Emiko, in hopes no one else would see Nobu if he got undressed later. Well, he wasn’t confused anymore, but darn was he innocent. It wasn’t often that she noted such purity in a boy!  “Like I told you before, call my Chiemi~ No need for formalities. We’re all stuck in this place together, right? So we’ll see plenty of each other anyway, yeah? And but of course, we’d help. A fellow student in need and all, right?”  She offered a small chuckle after saying this, waving a finger up as she spoke. Formalities were too much anyway, weren’t they? It was nice to ease up a little. Especially when the craziness around them made the majority of the students around them so...tense. Oh was he changing already? Made sense, but it was kind of adorable how politely he asked them to turn round.  “Oh, but of course~ Don’t mind if we chat you up with our back turned though, right? Just let us know when you’re finished~” As Chiemi turned around, she grasped Emiko’s wrist so she could do the same.

Already she’s thrown off. This playful attitude completely contrasts what the statistician heard earlier. Gorgeous? Cute roommate? What on earth?! She shrinks behind the held open door, cheeks quickly turning pink. Honestly it looks like she hasn’t had a compliment on her appearance basically ever.

“I…um…I d-don’t…Th-that’s…“

She unnerved by the sudden laughing, unsure if there’s a joke she’s missing. Ava glances away, unable to hold eye contact. Is Chiemi making fun of her? Is that what those compliments were, mocking? But the other girl has already moved on to talking about Emiko. She shakes her head.

“Hnnng…n-no…I…stay out…of her way…so I…don’t bother…her…I’m not…afraid…j-just…being…polite…“ She glances up at her in surprise, a little confused. First names? So quickly? “Okay…if that’s…what you want…Chiemi-san…My name…is Ava…Alkaev…SHSL Statistician…“

Calling her -san after all of that kinda defeats the point, doesn’t it Ava? She hesitates before realizing she’s being rude just having a conversation at the door like this. She opens the door up wider, taking a step or two back so Chiemi can enter if she chooses.

“Did you…want to…come in…?“

Ava looked a little upset from what Chiemi could gather. Was she upsetting the poor girl? Chiemi cocked her head to the side, a look of pure confusion on her features. Was she ok? Then again, who could be ok in this place? In a circumstance where their very lives were threatened?  “Hey. Did I do somethin’ to offend ya? You seem a little offput.”  The girl scratched her nose slightly, a sudden itch coming on. She tried her best to offer a sincere smile despite it all. So she was a statistician, huh? Those people were probably hella smart. Honestly, the girl looked it, but she didn’t look like someone who would help with armies or whatever. Thats what they did, right? She had to ask!  “What, like the person who gives armies good battle strategies? That what cha do? Because if not, I’ll be honest, dear: I’ve no clue.”  Well, at least she was honest about it. Though, there was no need pretending, was there? After all, these kids would be amongst each other for awhile. At least, until they found a way out!  “Sure. I don’t mind if you don’t. Maybe we can hang and I could leave a little note for Emi~ A win-win, wouldn’t you sayyy?~”
