Motive 5 || Hinata || Local Teen Dead Inside

Another chime another morning gathered on the deck. This all felt so routine to him after a while. Hinata stood there idly, staring at the parrot with tired gaze as he explained this weeks motive.

"..."

This one was... Interesting to say the least. Get away with murder and get to take a person out with you? Huh. Hinata could see a lot of people being tempted by this motive, but he remained unfazed by it as always. Without another work Hinata turned on his heel and went back to go sulk in his cabin. He was too exhausted to deal with this today.

Plus it's not like there was anyone he would want to take with him to begin with... Not anymore at least.

Body Discovery || Hinata || Why This

Hinata wasn’t surprised at the body announcement, figuring it was only a matter of time before another one of them died. He had to drag himself out of bed and force himself to go check out the crime scene first hand, finding himself looking down at the body of a girl he hardly knew.

 Ah... Letizia was one of the nice ones, right? Hinata never cared enough to really speak to her so he couldn't say he was really affected by her death all that much. Although every couple of seconds he kept having to look away, holding on the railing for support as his legs got weak. Even after all this time he still couldn't handle the sight of blood.

The announcement of yet another body brought him out of his daze. Atsuko? She was dead too? Shakily, and probably against his better judgment, he wandered over to get a better look for himself.

When he gets to the greenhouse he blinks, staring down at lifeless Atsuko's corpse with dull eyes. Huh. He wasn't quite sure what he was expecting here besides yet another dead corpse. She was one of the few people he actually liked, and now she was dead like all the others. Ha, he was almost jealous in a way...

Shaking his head, Hinata had to look away again as he took a shaky breath. He needed to focus right now. As much as he wanted to go back to his room and sleep everything off he couldn't be laying around doing nothing. He had to at least try to solve this...

Motive 4 || Hinata || This Is Fine

That morning when he had woken up, Hinata didn't realize anything was wrong at first. Days of barely getting any sleep and hardly eating were leaving him exhausted. Sitting up, he yawned tiredly and went to go smooth out the boa he usually slept up until he realized it was missing. Blinking, he peered over and under the bed, searching for it frantically. It wasn't until he went heard the motive announcement did he realize it was taken from him. His boa, Huang's boa, was gone.

Hinata felt tears starting to form at the corner of his eyes as he shook. He had been pretty... Fragile for the past couple of days, and this only made things worse. This wasn't fair, they couldn't do this to him! Hasn't he been through enough already? Those mascots couldn't take the only thing he had left of Huang.

"You can't! Y-You can't fucking do this, you-!!"

He choked out, tears starting to roll down his face as he struggled to find words to say. What was he suppose to do now? Just wait around until one of them eventually died? He was just so tired of all of this. Hinata ended up retreating back to his room, curling up on his bed as he whimpered and sobbed yet again. Someone let him rest.

✥  ——  HUMMING TO HERSELF, she’d been laying on the beach for… lord knows how long. A towel under her, her hair splayed out over the cloth. The tune she was humming wasn’t much, and she simply stared upwards at the sky blankly. She wasn’t really thinking, she was just there, tired… what was she doing again? She didn’t really care. The only thing that snapped her out of her stupor was a shadow moving over her, and she focused her half lidded gaze – tilting her head to see who’d approached.

          “ …HELLO… ”

Hinata had just wanted to take a walk, distract himself while avoiding the trouble of dealing with people. When he got to the beach he was rather surprised to see Atsuko there. Blinking, he looked down at the medium curiously.

"Oh, it's you..."

Wow, real polite there Hinata. Despite his rather rude greeting there wasn't any venom or animosity in his voice this time. After the last trial, well... Hinata still felt pretty bad about what she went through, he knows what it’s like after all.

Body Discovery || Hinata || Jojo’s Dead Adventure

Part of him wasn't even that surprised to hear that there was another death today. After being awoken by the sudden body announcement he rolled himself out of bed with a yawn, rubbing his eyes and getting dressed real quick before going over to check out the body.

"....."

... Well it wasn't someone he particular liked too much anyway, so Hinata couldn't say he felt bad in the slightest. Sorry Jo. All that blood though... He could feel himself getting sick on the spot, head spinning as he quickly turned away. At least when they found Bailey there wasn't any blood, but this... Euugh.

Taking some deep breaths, Hinata tried to regain his composure. He was fine, everything but Jo over here was fine, he could get through this without fainting. After calming himself down for a couple minutes, Hinata hesitantly turned around. He couldn't just faint like he did the first time, had to be useful in times like these.

Motive 3 || Hinata || Tuesday again? No problem...

It seemed the day Hinata finally came out of his room was the same day as when another motive got released. Hair sticking out in every direction, it was obvious Hinata hadn't really been taking care of himself or getting much sleep for the past few days. Looking down at the envelope with tired eyes, he really doubted whatever this letter said could make him feel any worse than he did already.

"..Ghh..."

His hands shook as he tightened his grip on the letter, crumpling it slightly as he continued to read. There were probably the only people left alive who even cared about him in the slightest, but to read such cruel words... To believe they would say such cruel things about him really hurt.

Shaking his head with a sigh, Hinata shoved the letter into his pocket without another word. It's not like this was anything new to him. He always knew he was pretty horrible person, it was only a matter of time the few people he cared about felt the same way...

"...Whatever...I d-don’t care.."

He murmured shakily, trying not to let it get to him too much.

Body Discovery || Hinata || Water You Doing

Hinata practically froze up at the sudden body announcement, following everyone anxiously to the docks. Another one of them was dead? Someone had really murdered after knowing what would happen if you got caught?? He almost couldn’t believe it at fist.

As soon as he got to the docks he paused, looking down at the corpse with wide eyes,

“Oh....”

Oh, this was... Someone he never spoke to much. The children's book illustrator if he could recall. Frowning, Hinata watched his classmates pull Bailey out of the water. He couldn’t find any words to say... Thankfully, as far as he could tell anyway, there wasn't any blood so at least he wouldn't feel sick. But staring at another corpse like this was a bit unerving.

Shaking his head, Hinata pulled up the case file on his E-Hanbook and decided to look at that instead. Although he wasn't exactly liking these question marks on here. Did the mascots just not know? Or were they intentionally doing this just to make things more difficult for them?

Sighing loudly, Hinata shoved his handbook away. Not like standing around in shock was going to help them find Bailey’s killer. He might as well get to work investigating while he can.

Motive 2 || Hinata || Distressed Screaming

Unfortunately for Hinata, someone else had the same idea. Staring at her envelope contents, Ayaka was shaking and obviously trying to hold back tears. For some stupid reason, she had chosen to stand in front of Hinata’s doorway while having her own little breakdown. What fun.

Apparently she noticed him coming, because she looked up and immediately stepped aside with a hasty apology. Her nerves were frayed even more severely than normal due to a number of factors in this situation. She wasn’t planning on sticking around, and she certainly wasn’t planning on talking to the luckster. So what came out of the raconteur’s mouth surprised even her:

“…d-do you need someone to t-talk to?”

Hinata stops dead in his tracks, turning around to scowl down at Ayaka. Ah, he recognizes her from the trial. She was one of the few that actually went to hug Trouble before he died, wasn't she?

"Why... Why would you care? I hardly even know you, why would I want to talk to someone like you?"

He spat out. Sorry Ayaka, you caught him in a very bad mood. He doesn’t understand why she would be concerned of him of all people.

Yup that’s her. What’s her name. She sorta stares at Hinata, he was that one guy from the “trial” but honestly she doesn’t seem to remember him all that well, just really knows him by vague looks.

“Not fake.” She’s been going by it for a few years so technically it’s her name now, not a nickname or anything. “Candy. And ya are?”

How rude already, calling her name fake without even providing his name, maybe he has the fake name huh???

You figured it out Candy. His real name is actually Salt Man(™), the name Hinata was just a cover up.

"Sounds fake, probably is fake."

He rolls his eyes dramatically, as if he's going to believe that. Hinata would rather believe it's just some kind of nickname if anything. Sorry Candy, Hinata is awful and skeptical.

"Hinata Kobayashi. I'd say it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance but it's really not."

Motive 2 || Hinata || Distressed Screaming

Hinata was initially a bit skeptical of what the mascots had in mind for them this time. Holding the envelope he wasted no time tearing it open, prepared to shrug it off and toss it away shortly after. He knew better than to let it get to hi, right? Well, that’s what he liked to believe at least.

Looking down at the letter, Hinata starts reading over it carefully and looking over the pictures. By the time he was done his face had gone pale, hands starting to tremble as he's frozen in spot. He was starting to feel sick to his stomach. How? How did they know this? How would they know his fears this well...?

"...N-No way...This isn't..."

He shakes his head, gripping the letter tightly. No, no he wouldn't believe it. There's no way these couldn’t be real, right? Like everything else these mascots shoved at them they had to be fabricated in some way. Like hell those ridiculous mascots had any way of making this happen.

Crumpling the contents of the envelope in his hands, Hinata turned on his heels and storms off to his cabin. He was on the verge of freaking out right now and he didn’t want anyone to see him possibly have a melt down.

She’s out and about, not really phased by the recent deaths but also not really in the mood to do much than lounge around- or is that just how she normally is. Who knows. She wanders on into the room, just looking around to check it out, she’s not interested much in the purpose of the room, she really only cares for the comfort of the room- oh. There’s someone in here. She waves a little to him, then promptly returns her hand to her pocket.

“I mean I guess.”

What really constitutes interesting to her though isn’t this at all. She heads over to one of the bean bag chairs and just, plops down onto it. Now THIS is what she’s interested in.

Oh this was... What was her name again? Hinata turns around and squints a bit at the girl. He knows hes seen her around, it’s not too hard to miss someone with hair like that, but he just never made any effort to actually talk to her. Whoops.

"Oh, you're.... One of the ones with those ridiculous fake names right? I don't believe I bothered to care much upon hearing it the first time, so I can't seem to remember it now."

He shrugs. Wow, rude Hinata. He could just open his E-Handbook and look at her ID, but he’s mean and doesn’t even bother. Thanks Hina.

Free Time || Hinata || Open || Hakuna Hinata

After sleeping for god knows how long, at the mentions of a new floor Hinata decided to get up and check it out. The places he'd normally hang out either had pictures of dead kids in them or a corpse was found there the other day... So Hina kinda didn't want to chill around in there for a while.

Plus it was a good way of trying to distract himself from thinking about the last couple of days. Not wanting his mind to linger on the thought that four people were dead now.

For now Hinata was looking around the Mini Theater curiously, going through some of the cabinets and generally observing the place. This was the first time he'd ever been on any kinda of ship or cruise so he wasn't sure if they usually had things like clubs or mini theaters in them. In the middle of his wandering he noticed another student walk in and audibly sighs. He was a bit disappointing about having to actually deal with people today, but he supposed other people must've had similar ideas.

"Hmmm.... Interesting floor this is, right?"

Hinata hums. He's not out right insulting them at least but he doesn't even bothering to say hello or anything. Thanks Hinata.

Turning over the glasses in his hand, he notices the crack. Hopefully soon he’d remember who they belonged to. Until then, he racked his brain to differentiate which one wore these kind of glasses. He’d only seen Trouble in his glasses once, and he hadn’t even talked to Kato. He’d flip through the student files soon, but until then, more investigating.

“Aiyah… Well, it’s a good thing we took a look at this before someone else picked it up. Think there’s anything else in the kitchen we should look at before we get out of this mess?”

Hinata looked over the kitchen one last time. While there could possibly be more to find in here, but from the looks of it they've found all there is to find to here. They'd probably just be wasting time if they looked around in here some more.

Plus those blood splatters were starting to gross him out again. Euugh...

"No, I doubt it. We've probably found all the evidence we're gonna find in here. It'd be best if we get going while we still have time to investigate."

Huang nods,

 “Don’t worry, I know you wouldn’t do something like that. I trust you, didi.”

He examines the pair with a squint, trying his best to remember what the other’s glasses looked like. He hadn’t spent a lot of time with either Kato or Trouble, but from what he remembered… Trouble only wore his glasses sporadically, but he seemed rather strong. Kato, on the other hand… the few times he’d seen him, he’d always been wearing his glasses. If he showed up without them, that was the guy they were looking for. 

“We’ll have to find Kato and Trouble as soon as possible. They’re the only other ones who wear glasses, right?”

He nods in agreement,

"Yeah, they're the only other ones who wear them. It'll be pretty obvious to notice if one of them is missing their glasses."

They at least had two suspects so far. Hinata hadn't spoken with Kato much, only seeing him a couple times, so he had no idea if the kid actually had the guts to straight up murder someone. He also had no idea when it came to Trouble but god knows he was just going to use this as an excuse to be an asshole to him.

Huang nodded,

“Good observation. Whoever came out of this fight is gonna have a hard time covering themselves up tomorrow. So we’re looking for someone small and meek, wearing clothing that could cover up a wound or two.”

Taking another glance around, Huang notices the pair of glasses lying in the midst of the mess.

“Hm? Glasses?…. Here’s a clue…”

"Well it doesn't have to be someone small and meek necessarily, just someone who isn't exactly the strongest. Which... So far could be anyone really."

Turning his head, Hinata peers down at the glasses when Huang points them out. He squints, walking over and crouching down by them to get a better look. He inspects them carefully and taking note of any details that might be useful later.

"Huh, glasses... Well that narrows the suspect list down a bit, only a couple people here even wear glasses. Myself included."

Realizing what he just said Hinata pauses for a moment, standing back up and turning to look at Huang with a pout.

"...Before you get any ideas those aren't mine."

Huang gently covered his mouth, ushering Hinata behind him and swallowing back anything he thought might come back up. Having been in action movies in the past, he was used to a gory scene or two, but… jeez, nothing as realistic as this…

“Urggh… yeah, there was definitely a commotion… I guess the culprit must’ve had a hard time taking him down, huh?”

He takes deep breaths. The important thing was not to think about Viktor too much- focus on the murder as if it had been someone else… think of it like a reality show.

“Well… at least now we can tell this wasn’t an act of brute force. It was obvious they used a tool, but… struggling even with that? This person must not have been the strongest…”

"Yeah, probably not... It must have been a serious fight, considering how much of a mess the kitchen is in."

He nods. Man he does not feel sorry for the guy who has to clean this place up. Still, he'd imagine someone stronger wouldn't have left much a mess. Fight would've been a lot shorter.

"But... Since it was probably a really big struggle, surely there must be some marks left on the culprit, right? Some bruises or scratches at the least... You probably wouldn't come out of a fight like that unharmed."
