Orino nearly jumped out of her skin when someone walked in front of her. How could she not notice this right off the bat? Her nerves began to rise until her sleep-deprived brain registered the âstranger" as her friend Amaya. Orino felt relieved as well as idiotic over this...
Amaya smirked, watching the girl's reaction. "Eh, maybe cause you looked like a zombie?!" She teased, before lifting her arms up and grinning at the girl. As she had previously decided upon, anything to take her mind off of their situation. Escapism through relations was just another way to go about it, and it was certainly the method that she had grown most accustomed to over the years. Even if the whole ordeal had left her a bit more moody and prone to misconduct than usual.
"For real, though, are you sure you're good?" She tilted her head and withdrew her arms from the air, placing them instead on her hips. A minor slip up in her perfectly composed facade, but hey, who was going to be counting? She figured she was allowed to make a single joke, and it certainly couldn't hurt, looking at the state that the girl before her was in.
She hesitated; girl sounded so harsh, but the term friend was almost too abrupt. Like popping a balloon. So sudden and unexpected and not entirely unwanted. But she reasoned that, also like the ridiculous metaphor of a balloon, these sorts of friendships could disappear at any given moment. Given the circumstances of their situation, Amaya wasn't so sure she quite wanted to risk that.
Nevertheless, friend or just good acquaintance, Amaya was never one to be lacking in charm and affability. No matter how distrusting she was. Continuing on, she trilled, "Well, hey, I'm sorry to have caught you off guard! Let me make it up to you, yeah yeah?" She laughed, stroking her chin. "We could go exploring, or make food! Or something else exciting," She shook her head, deep in thought considering possible activities inside the school.
