To say Desmond was surprised when Clementine approached was an understatement. She hadn’t come to talk to him since he arrived and truth be told, he hadn’t made any movements to go talk to her either. He didn’t know how, it was weird to see her again, mostly after thinking that everyone he knew was either dead or trying to eat his brains. “Back to old times?” He smirked and handed her the joint.
She didn’t know how it was supposed to go- especially after she had run and never even thought twice about looking for him. They both knew they weren’t the kind of couple who would end up marrying and even less of the couple who felt had an obligation towards each other. But right now, Desmond was the only person who actually knew her and it was altogether weird and complicated. “Apparently so since you’re here.” Clementine replied with her usual flirty grin as she took a drag of the cig. “You’re surprised to see me, does the surprise come from believing you were never going to get such a good fuck or is it my ability to stay alive?” The girl asked, handing the joint back to him.
adclaideiisms:
“a – knife?” taking in a deep breath, holding it for a few seconds. adelaide knew she had to be more useful to the group than just a damn cook. looking up at the woman, she nodded her head slowly before handing the bow back. “alright, knife it is then.”
“Great.” Clem said shortly as she turned to the bag she usually carried around, taking out two knives and handling one to the other girl. “Grab it with one hand and try to stab that tree.” The brunette motioned with her free hand. “It’ll take you a while to make a clear deep stab. Try it.”
noellefvk:
“the fucker is dead,” noelle growled at clementine, brutally kicking the crumpled corpse to reinforce her point. her eyes raised to meet the incredulous stare of clementine and she snorted in disbelief. “why the hell would i lie about a scratch? if this were a walker bite i would have already put a bullet in my head.” she looked at the other woman with an earnest look in her eyes.
Clementine took a moment to eye the girl, she knew how this shit went- she knew that even having been taught not to, people clinged to hope till their very last breath. But this was not the case and she had stated that very clearly when the conversation between the two had started. “I’ve told you I know that’s not a bite, I’m saying it’s too big to be a simple scratch from a bush. In fewer words, get it checked.”
savannch:
the book slammed shut behind her with enough noise to catch her attention, and savannah glanced up with her eyes narrowed. clementine sighed loudly and savannah looked away as she grit her teeth together. “i’m sorry, did i disturb your leisure reading with my planning for survival? by all means, carry on.” she stared back at the map in front of her, plotting out a course in her mind. east wasn’t a bad idea actually, but jesus, what a way to share. she didn’t turn back around as clementine spoke again. “ we need more food, but i’m more concerned about our medical supplies and weaponry. food’s going to be easier to find than medicine, and we can always hunt and forage. unless someone’s got incredible natural healing skills, we’re going to be screwed keeping anyone alive. ”
Seriously, these people were going to kill her before the walkers even had a chance to reach her. She didn’t even hate Savannah, actually the girl wasn’t all that bad and sometimes she could listen to her without wanting to perform a laryngectomy. But good lord, what was it with her attitude today? “Your plan for survival will kill us, let’s not head North.” Clementine replied with a huff before turning back to her book briefly and sighing exasperatedly as she could not concentrate again since the girl had placed a thought in her mind- and ideas were flying back and forth in her brain. “Listen, plans for survival should be made by a group of people representing the rest- for which I should add I believe there must be leaders... as in real people taking the lead and not just following around whoever comes up with whatever sounds the best at the moment.” Dropping her book and grabbing a bottle of water instead, the brunette moved over to sit in front of the other. “I agree with the lack of medical supplies- not that much with weaponry considering we first need to train people into using them. For people who get injured, we need to get someone with enough medical expertise to deal with it. But those too sick to move, become a liability. Therefore, we should discuss this further as I’ve already lost all focus I could possibly have in that book.”
desmond-tarik:
Desmond was leaning against a tree next to camp when he noticed someone approaching. He looked up and nodded. “Would you like a drag?” He asked, motioning to his cigarette.
Clementine was doing her usual roundabout the place to check there were no potential dangers to anyone from the group, when she accidentally approached a guy. She wanted to turn around almost immediately as she realized who it was. She still hadn’t talked to him since he joined the group, but simply couldn’t help herself when he offered and leaned against a closerby tree. “That I would love.”
noellefvk:
“fuck. fuck. fuck.” her words sounded strained as she hastily threw the walker off of her. it hadn’t gotten her, she swore that her knife had made contact with its temple before its decomposed hand swiped at her. her fingers brushed over her neck and the sight of red smeared on her fingers caused great alarm. “that’s from the thorn bush that i fuckin’ stomped through to avoid the hoard.” noelle wasn’t frantic, in fact she seemed eerily calm.
As soon as she heard the noises, the brunette stood up from her spot besides the bonfire and made her way quickly over to see what was the cause of such riot. When she spotted the girl standing over a now hopefully dead walker, Clementine took out one of her knives and moved closer, getting a clear sight of the other’s injury. “Not a bite, but that’s quite a lot of blood for it to have been cause by just a thorn bush.” She spoke with hostility.
aidandupont:
“if you’d ask me,” he pondered over his words, a little shaken. “i think we will be fine. maybe not the same as we were before… all of this, but fine regardless.” another sigh escaped aidan’s lips, and he silently gasped for air once more. “everyone’s had to make sacrifices. everyone’s lost something, but it doesn’t mean it’ll have to be like this.. forever. it’s temporary.”
he hoped it was.
She had been trying her hardest not to listen to his rant, especially considering her uninviting silence seemed to had only encouraged people to talk to her instead. When he finished though, the brunette couldn’t help but shoot him quite a glare. “We won’t- be fine, I mean.” She told him taking a sip from the bottle she had in hand -which she was pretty sure was bourbon. “We’ll survive, if y’all are not stupid, but that’s it. Fancy some?” Clementine concluded, motioning to the bottle in somewhat of an offer.
adclaideiisms:
“i—,” the brunette stumbled, losing her focus and allowing the bow to drop right by her feet, a heavy sigh echoing around them. “yup – still pretty USELESS.”
Clementine had to swallow a complaining exhalation before turning again to the other girl. “Maybe I should teach you how to fight with a knife instead- much more effective than the bow actually.”
savannch:
“ probably need to be ready to move along before too long. there’s not much food left in the cabins. ” savannah was mostly thinking out loud, but she was concerned about how much longer they could safely stay in the area they’d made out. she might actually be sad to move on; they had a nice place carved out in the woods, safe and quiet. but the supplies were getting low, and there was nowhere else to raid nearby. “ start going north maybe, so it gets cooler in the summer months. ”
She was quietly reading a book she’d found in one of the cabins- it wasn’t the most interesting one, but it was both a good way to kill boredom and a pretty great excuse to ignore people. Sure, it would’ve been easier to focus if Savannah wasn’t ranting about what she thought was best for them to do next. Clementine finally sighed heavily and closed her book making a bit of a dread noise to catch the blonde’s attention. “We should go East, actually. If we head to the North we might be fine for a couple of months only- but then when the cold strikes, it’d be pretty hard for us to move South again.” She stopped to look at the girl with a deadpan expression. “But yes, we should be moving around the following week- that’s how much food we have added to any hunting work we can do.”
floraxjasper:
Flora paced around her tent area as she tried to calm herself down enough to just think, she jumped about sky when she heard someone behind her and she whipped around letting out a breath when she saw someone watching her. “H-hi sor-sorry I didn’t mean to disturb you.”
The brunette had just managed to catch a rabbit in the woods and was about to put him down when she spotted one of the youngest in the group right in front of her. “That’s what y’all keep saying, but you do it nonetheless.”
deaconsantorio:
“You good?”
“I was not the one who had a walker close to biting me. So are you okay?”
“Life’s too short.”
ianclarkson:
“Killing a cat for what purpose?”
“Well, we’re running out of food and the newest additions to our group freak out too easily, rapidly... and probably plan on eating that poor cat’s meat. Kind of disgusting, wicked even- that’s why I was walking the other way. Care to join me, Mister?”
elicash:
he rolled his eyes, but he was smiling. it seemed he’d done little else since finding sentience and pseudo-civilization. ‘i’m sure it is. i won’t bother you – i just want a drink.’ he’d left the remainder of the water he’d traded for behind a tree. since it hadn’t killed him yet, he expected it wasn’t likely to. procuring it took some doing – he’d half buried the bottle in leaves, and hadn’t been able to spot it immediately in the dark – but was soon on his way back, tiptoeing past the girl. the urge to sit in the quiet hit him like a train, and he’d never been one to ignore the physicality of ideas. ‘mind if i sit down? contrary to popular belief, i know how to be quiet.’
“You were drinking water, weren’t you?” She asked pretty straightforward as she looked at her newest companion, furrowing her brows together with amusement. She didn’t enjoy interacting nor company, but sometimes- only ever so often these kids that were supposedly running away with her, they were somewhat interesting and woke up the slightest of her curiosity. This seemed to be one of those rare cases so she simply gestured with her face for him to either sit or lay down by her side. “You don’t have to be quiet, but maybe you’ll have something to say that’ll make me listen to you without complaining.”
savannch:
After the meal, Savannah helped with what washing she could, despite the running water being pretty limited and icy cold. She wandered outside after she finished, seeing Clementine far from the rest of the group, clearly trying to keep her own space. Someone called her name out, causing her to open her eyes. Savannah glared at the kid who’d bothered her, and without a second word, he took off. So savannah took a seat close beside Clementine hesitantly. “Don’t worry. I’ll leave you alone if you want. That kid just likes to get in everyone’s business.”
It wasn’t as though she couldn’t handle herself, but she was glad someone else understood her basics needs and perhaps even power of will- because she would’ve probably ended up hurting the boy if he stayed for much longer in her presence. “That kid won’t survive the apocalypse.” Clementine said crudely before looking at the blonde, her eyes taking in how hesitantly she had sat closer by and smirked slightly. “You’re fine, just don’t expect me to socialize much.”
