AEDITHA
Aeditha smiled softly “When I was younger I used to wish that I had magic,” she admitted. “I didn’t know that magic could be taught though, how long did it take you to learn?” Aeditha asked curiously as she gently placed the branch back on the ground. “I’ve tried not to, but I can’t help it. I think the only way I won’t think about other people’s opinions is if I was actually good at dancing.”
☼ — araxia tucked her hair behind her ear to reveal a distinct POINT. “it can’t be taught to ANYONE,” she gently corrected her words, a muted smile spread across her face. it brought her J O Y to speak about the parts of her life that had never disappointed her. “i learned all of my LIFE or at least until i was twenty.”
it all started out as a simple stroll, a patrol of sorts. a few rounds back and forth, mostly out of boredom, but also because he much preferred the feeling of the ground under his feet and the commotion of the people. castle walls were cold and demanding and not cold the way he remembered it from childhood. now, there he stood, standing above the sight of a motionless man, sprawled on the ground at the entrance of a tavern with a deep wound gushing at his throat. not a man, he thought, a corpse.
visent’s eyes rose, embellished in threads of blue iron, and leaped from one person to another amid the circle that had formed around the victim. it took him a moment, but his speech was absolute. “who is to blame for this?”
☼ — “i ATTACKED him out of SELF DEFENSE,” araxia said to him, voice hoarse as she allowed the dragger she had been loosely holding to fall to the ground. her pointed ears were E V I D E N T and the scowls that surrounded her confirmed the consensus that no one supported her account of the encounter. “he snuck up on me, HOLLERING “knife ears.” then he tauntingly pressed a blade to my back and i REACTED,” the woman relayed detachedly to him, a stare without conviction boring into the marquis.
ALEIA
Aleia shook her head with a small smile appearing on her lips. “Hurting the earth is the last thing I want to do but I do not think my feet are willing to follow.” The elf spoke, scratching her forehead as her eyebrows shot up. Pressing her lips together at Araxia’s words, the elven girl crossed her arms over her chest, letting out a small sigh, feeling as if her elf friend was merely used to entertain those that would despise them in a different situation. And it felt wrong. “Pretend you are alone in the room. It is what I usually do.”
☼ — araxia chuckled, delighted to be conversing with a fellow elf and a long time companion. the NATURE of their conversation didn’t matter, she was only concerned with the fact that she was in close proximity with aleia. “as long as you respect the earth, then it’s acceptable for HARSH feet to walk the earth.” araxia didn’t put too much thought into her purpose in the castle. as long as she got to dance then she didn’t CARE if she had to perform for an audience. “i don’t mind the C R O W D, they are only appreciating the beauty of dance and it’s acceptable to me.”
AEDITHA
“You have magic?” Aeditha asked her eyes widening in surprise.”What else can do besides healing branches?” At the other woman’s words her cheeks flushed lightly “Oh yes, I know that. It’s just hard to not wonder whether people are secretly judging your dancing ability.”
☼ — “i do,” she responded to the woman, nodding her head to reinforce her point. a gentle smile spread across her face as she began to speak of magic, truly REVELING in the moment. “i was taught by my MOTHER, she was a mage,” araxia hesitantly told her, unsure if she could divulge this information to this stranger. “you shouldn’t CARE about the opinions of others. they don’t matter in the grand scheme of things.”
FIONA
there was no RHYTHM coming from fiona, or at least she didn’t feel like there was, though she didn’t bother saying it. the dark haired queen merely nodded her head at the elf’s words. she knew how to dance well enough for the castle balls, and that was more than enough. “hm, i’ll keep that in mind.” she spoke, eyes fixated on the elf. “WHERE did you learn how to dance?”
☼ — aware of the fact that fiona’s eyes were boring into her, araxia remained still as she returned the stare. the queen conversed with her from time to time, no MALICE detectable in her tone. while she was unsure of her feelings about her KIND, araxia would venture to assume that she didn’t harbor ill thoughts. “i taught myself, your grace,” she answered with a tiny nod her head. “the DARK FOREST is filled with more than enough plants to grant me inspiration.”
GARRETT
Coughing for a moment he owned a blush he usually saw belonging to the dwarven girls that would follow him around or the noble hunters who even if he had no significant station were attracted to him like flies. It was not for the same reasons though - not just because she was beautiful but more so because she was fascinating. Her ears …. he wanted to touch them. He’d never seen an elf this close before. It was a terrible curiosity that bit at him. “I well - personally I have never seen one of your kind this close before. You’re just as fascinating as any number of the things I could make. What’s caught your eye in particular?”
☼ —araxia continued to linger further away from the dwarf, curiosity still at full height but she desired to act POLITE. her chocolate opticals conveyed a certain warmth and the gentle smile quirked on her lips confirmed her TENDERNESS. absently, she tucked her head behind her ear to further its P O I N T E D T I P to the man. “you can say ELF, just as long as you refrain from any derogatory term,” araxia’s melodic voice said to him. blithely, she finally decided to float closer to the scene she had been examining, eyes torn between the dwarf and his trinket. “i wouldn’t call myself fascinating, i have know what i am my entire life,” she lightly teased to him. “the WHOLE THING, in all honesty.”
ALEIA
The elf let out another chuckle, keeping her eyes on the other and shaking her head – there was some truth to Araxia’s words, Aleia knew that much. However, more and more ever since she got captured, it was as if nature was no longer a constant inside of her. It was more like a whisper, during most days. “I have, I just do not think I have feet as light as yours, Araxia.” Aleia spoke, keeping her eyes on the other elf and giving her a look, pressing her lips together. “Is that how you train to entertain the court?”
☼ — “my feet don’t want to HARM the earth they walk on, that’s the reason they are so LIGHT,” she explained to her companion, a light smile surfacing on her face. she kept her eyes trained on aleia, watching her closely as she attempted to read her face. “YES. it’s much easier to find inspiration for my dances when there isn’t a crowd with all of their eyes trained on ME.” araxia spoke lightly, despite the fact that their situations in the castle were far from casual.
AEDITHA
Aeditha stepped back and leaned over, picking up the branch she had accidentally trodden on. A smile quickly spread over features. “Oh, you did fix it! How did you do that?” she asked, her eyes widening as she ran her fingers over the branch trying to find the place where she had snapped it. “I wish I could dance like you,” Aeditha said softly “My dances are never inspired by anything. I’m always afraid that I am making a fool of myself.”
☼ — araxia couldn’t keep a pleased mile from spreading on her face at the woman’s reaction. “that’s the power of MAGIC,” she told her pridefully, keeping her eyes trained on her as she examined the branch. “it is just something that comes NATURALLY to me,” the elf explained to her. then she shook her head, unable to fathom what she was saying. “you’re supposed to focus on yourself when dancing and NO ONE ELSE.”
FIONA
dancing had been something fiona wasnever good at, and she found herself ENVIOUS of those who could. “well, it’s fascinating that you can do it without. many can’t.“ she spoke, giving the elf a small nod. “it does a good job. you dance just as gracefully.“ fiona complimented, something she didn’t do often.
☼ — “you just have to remember that the rhythm comes from WITHIN and nowhere else,” araxia tenderly spoke, as if the concept was the easiest thing in the world to COMPREHEND. the elf dipped her head in gratitude at the queen’s compliment, offering her an affable smile. “thank you, YOUR GRACE.”
EDMUND
♞ — “are you always this daring?” asked edmund as he swung on his heel to pace five steps away from where she was standing. when he faced her again, he met her with an apple on his head and an impish grin on his lips.
☼ — “ALWAYS. i have nothing to lose from being, as you put it, DARING,” she answered him with an even tone. as an elf in the olelasan castle, araxia was placed on the lowest pedestal possible. “i’ll even take the blame if an A C C I D E N T is the sole outcome of this situation,” the elf spoke with a devious smile painted on her face. she took a practiced stance, drawing back the bow and taking precise aim. the arrow shot and whirred towards edmund, hitting the very center of the apple.

Strike me down? I’ll get up again. I am not invincible, but I won’t give up either.
I used to be soft. I used to be gossamer and silk, Until it was all torn away And I was abandoned and alone. I used to be broken. I used to be shards of iron and ice, A whirlwind of broken glass, Until I learned to be more. Now I light up the night sky. Beauty fighting against the darkness, Fire and lightning mistaken for nothing more than a pretty picture, But I’ll burn you alive And look damn good doing it
