Persona 6 Official Announcement Teaser
A Persona game that takes place in real time
It takes 8,706 hours to complete.
If you don't pick up the game in a while, the characters will notice and the story will move on without you
There is a secret ending cutscene that you can only find if you start up the game, turn it off, and don't turn it back on until 1 hour before the ending
In that ending, the rest of the cast saves the day without any help from you, you were entirely useless. They never even met you
You are not allowed to play the game during the holiday season until the remake comes out. The game will just refuse to turn on for a month
Social links will call your actual phone while you're not playing
You are not allowed to leave the game during exams
Managing traffic for efficiency is a very important game play mechanic. But a party member will be late no matter what.
If you try to play it at night, every character is asleep and you cannot interact with them
Except for the velvet room, which you can only enter at night
You heal automatically over time. About 2-3 weeks for full HP
In game part time jobs take so long that the game allows you to sync it with your real world work schedule, and get in game money and experience from your regular job.
You get a p4 Easter egg if you only play at exactly midnight.
You can change your timezone manually, and by setting it to JST you get bonus exp for aithenticity.
Each party member has their own schedule you must work around for missions. The game does not tell you these schedules, you must find out by trial and error.
You must spend an adequate amount of quality time with whoever you are dating. About 7 real world hours a week.
I'm out of any ideas, but I don't want this to die. Anyone got other mechanic ideas?
April fool's update. If you play on April 1st, it makes it appear as though your save has been deleted, but will be restored on April 2nd.
If you don't play on the first it is not restored.
There is no saving/loading feature. You are not allowed to pause. The moment you press start the game plays from beginning to end in that order and there is nothing you can do.
You can't restart the game either. Even if you die, you have to wait until the game completes itself before you can start a new game. (but, this is actually a good thing, because your death gives some of the secondary characters some much needed development and it leads to a more dramatically thrilling ending. Too bad you won't see it because your stuck in the pov of the coffin.)
Some additions to preempt the first promotion of P6:
There is also a P3 Easter egg at Midnight. If you play at Midnight on a full moon, another hour will be added to both the game and real life. Atlus refuses to comment on the technology behind this Easter egg.
The main villain has a Sans style recollection of your previous playthroughs. However, this is only apparent after your 3rd time playing through the game entirely, and not until the final month.
Pre-ordering the game allows you to access a secret prologue set in real time before the game officially begins on its release date.
Pulse detectors in the controller will sense if are getting tired and make the characters more exhausted as you do. Also, if you die in real life you die in the game.
Whenever you are not playing during in-game school hours, the teacher will notice you spacing out. Do it too often, and you will be kicked out. The game is 100% unwinnable at this point, but you will have to play through to the bad end before you can restart.
You must find a bathroom in the dungeons before taking an Irl bathroom break, or your character will die.
Right before the final battle(against 🙏God🙏, obviously), the protagonist will give an inspiring speech to all of the non-party member social links.
But because it's a silent protag, there will be no voice acting.
Instead, you will have to make up the speech and say it into a mic. (If you do not have a mic, the audience will wait for you, but will be harsher judges the longer you make them wait)
An ai then determines how inspiring your speech was. This ai is about as good a judge as the one in the original Pokemon Snap, so there is no guaranteed way to win this part.
Good luck!
Fans were surprised to see that this entry still included the staple item Goho-M, which does work as advertised, automatically returns you from a dungeon without threat of battles.
The catch is that this is also in real time. As soon as you use the item, you will enter an uninteractable cutscene that will take exactly as long as you have played in the dungeon.
The entire fandom was pleased when the programmers unanimously decided NOT to have them represented in PQ3
The game gives no special prominence to party member/social links. You must find them by interacting with every npc to get their names. If you don't have their names by a very specific point, they will no longer be a party member/social link.
You could look up a walkthrough to find the correct characters and time, but by that point it's already too late
The reason this game is taking so long to create is not programming the gameplay, that was finished before P5 was even anounced.
What is taking so long is that every party member is going to get about 280,000 unique lines and it's taking a while for the writers to come up with them.
This entry will be the first to include a mute party member. Purely just to lessen the strain on the writers
Social Link Reversals have made a comeback!!!
But, this time, the added time makes for a much better reversal system
Each level in a social Link(starting from level four and going to level nine) has its own failure requirements. Some based on dialogue options, some on stat builds, others on time between Link scenes and status after dungeons.
After each failure you are given a side quest to allow the person to forgive you. After being forgiven, you get 10 brand new Social Link scenes based on it.
That means 6x the amount of social Link content to enjoy.
Each of these paths is unique and made with heart. Just be warned you need to do this early to have enough time to finish before the final battle. And you can't reset, so it'll take 6 playthroughs to get all the routes
(gotta get that decade long replayability somewhere)
Twitch Plays Persona 8706 is considered in the fandom to be the only true experience of the game, as it is the only instance where there is a player present for the entirety of the story.
Anyone else got any ideas? I wanna see how amazing this game would be if others pitch in some ideas
Due to how long the games take to develope, it is estimated that the obligatory P8706 spinoff title will be release about 23 years after the original.
In order to feel authentic, the game will feature the entire cast in their 40s. It's expected to be the most critically acclaimed spinoff in SMT history, if it's ever finished.
New feature!
If the controller's pulse sensors detects that you(the physical player) are feeling any of the following(Dizzy, sleepy, enraged, confused, scared, lustful, mouse, or hungry), your character will be afflicted by the corresponding status effect.
Persona Dancing All Year!
Rhythum games can have a pretty short playtime, and if theres one thing Persona 8706 is not is short.
And so, we are taking rhythum dancing games to the next level! In Dancing All Year, there is not set cinematic dancing, the dancing is based by how well you play. Starting off the game, the characters are slow and prone to falling and tripping. You and the character both have to practice over and over again to get good at the songs. You follow the characters from learning the choreography to practicing for weeks to finally performing the dance in full. By the time you get to the end, you'll have listened to the entire album approximately 5776 times!
(About 16 times a day, over the course of a year. try not to miss too many practices or you'll get rusty and fail the final dance numbers.)
Its been 3 1/2 years since i started this and im running out of ideas but i dont want this to die.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Critics of P3Reload can rest easy knowing that P8706 will not recast its voice actors for the remake.
It is literally impossible to record that many voice lines again.
In order to up the replay-ability, the social stats in this game will be much more complex and open to customization.
Instead of 5 social stats, there will now be 15!
Academics, Charm, Guts, Proficiency, Wisdom, Perception, Reliability, Patience, Understanding, Dexterity, Stamina, Tech Savvy, Eloquence, Attractiveness, and Humor.
Each one of these stats can rank up from 1 to 250, giving players many different builds they can try out!
To fill up gametime in between all the scripted scenes and timelocked social links, this game is taking a lesson from another Sega series, LaD, by using old games as minigames! You can buy and play the entire Persona series, including the Q and Arena spinoffs, inside of 8706! Now your protagonist will be the most relatable persona protagonist, because they also played Persona.
The main party will cap out at 22 characters(including the protagonist), and there will be a total of 78 confidants with full social links(and reversals). The budget got a little tight later in development, so there are some double casts. Each voice actor plays around 14 roles.
And, don't worry, despite all these delays, Persona 8706 will still be released before Persona 6.

Gonna be taking a break from my usual comic books(except for new book Wednesday)
Because a friend of the family has just published their first book!
I have not read the book yet, however, if you would like to support a brand new writer on their first published work, please check it out.

I've played at least one persona game but not twewy
I've played twewy but I've never played a persona game
I've played at least one persona game and I've played twewy
I haven't played either
Watching someone else play a game or watching cutscenes counts as playing the game, reading a summary or wiki pages does not
