Mikey Shoes’ Suit
@mikeyshoes2007 asked for a tutorial for the nails I did so I thought I’d make one? Disclaimer: I’m doing all this with my left hand so the pics and the painting are all a lil wonky.
1) Firstly you need: A palette, a small brush, nail polish in red, white, blue, and black, a Mini Mansions playlist on shuffle to get in the mood ;)
2) Base: White usually looks best when double coated, so this is what it looks like after painting twice.
3) The blue: I didn’t have a blue I was satisfied with so I mixed white + dark blue + ?? what blue is that. Overall I got kind of a blu-tac color? Whatever looks good to you is fine.
4) Blue strokes: Use the thin brush and randomly swipe around. Remember to leave space for the red! It also helps to look at Mikey’s suit and pick a particular area you might wanna replicate.
5) Red strokes: The blue and reds sort of alternate in a way but that doesn’t matter much really. Remember that for both colors the strokes should be thick and end up looking squarish round the edges because that’s how it is on the suit.
6) The black: My black nail polish comes with a thin brush already. Unlike the brush I used for the other colors, this is more pointed, which is ideal for drawing.
7) Patterns: Some notable patterns I picked out from the suit that you can copy.
8) Painting it on: The black goes over the other strokes so just have fun with it! You can also fill empty space with thicker strokes like I did.
And you’re done! I saw a lot of people wanting to try it and I hope you do! We can be matching nail buddies even if you’re halfway across the world!

I've just stumbled upon this invaluable gem of a blog and was wondering whether you would be open to submissions. Just let us know the correct sizing/formatting/tagging, and you would have the unhinged imagination and mediocre art knowledge of Shuman fanatics at your disposal.
Yes yes yes! Absolutely, @airheadlana! We’ve been waiting for someone to ask this really! It’s been a very busy year and we wish we had more time to post so if anyone would like to submit we’d be more than thrilled! Our submit has always been open and it’s simply the blog url /submit!
I myself am not too picky bout formatting but I guess we’d prefer portrait to landscape. As for the caption just put it as: Michael Shuman as Art: Artwork Title || Artist, Year (if possible)I can handle the tags because I have a tag bundle already :)
We look forward to your input and input from others as well!

Hi @stupid13artist! Thank you for your kind words! We (the admins) have had this blog since last year! Initially we binge-made a lot of posts and posted them in queue, but when the queue ran out I guess we didn't make anymore. New followers like you are always the best sort of motivation though, so keep a look out for content in the near future :) Tell your friends and family!
