Quite powerful and moving work: using photography in mixed media to create and capture dialogue between interviewer and subject.

Color owes its brightness to force of contrast rather than to its inherent qualities primary colors look brightest when they are brought into contrast with their complementaries

Good
There's a note on my phone titled 'good'. I add to it every few pages I'm reading something good. And recently I've been reading some pretty good stuff.
One book this year has really blown my mind when it comes to artistically disrespecting the need for punctuation, the conventions for metaphor and reality. And in a good way.
"Autumn of the Patriarch" is possibly the most badass piece of respectable literature I have ever read (for the reasons I preluded to). It's poetically written - sentences bracketed by commas joined to other sentences without paragraphs. And read as a poem, it finds a narrative rhythm that switches naturally between the main character, an eternal dictator, third person and other characters in the book.
The book is vivid and full of character:
"...sharp bump backbones of satanic looks of bloody fangs of the string of fleeing howls with the tail between the legs of the butchery of dogs quartering each other as they exchanged nips in the mud puddles", p61
Philosophical, political, surreal, ironic, poetic in a neat 200 odd pages.
