be that way // senri ichinose
If it wasnât already obvious before, it was apparent now: Senri really, truly didnât want to interact with Leo. Of course, that didnât stop Leo from attempting, but it still caused his face to screw up in a manner that wasnât hurt, more like anxiety, or frustration. Or a mix of the three. Leo felt a little frustrated at the fact that he had been partnered with someone who was so unwilling to cooperate, but more frustrated that he had been partnered with anyone at all. Sure, he liked the idea of partners - it gave him a way to get to know people, but couldnât his partner been a little more flexible?
Leo clenched his teeth as the door was closed on him, and the young man reached a hand up and simply placed it on the door, lowering his head and sighing. Yeah, the door had been shut on him. Great. This did happen often in Hellsalemâs Lot, but for different reasons - and this guy was someone he felt like he kind of had to at least keep in touch with.
Leo let out another frustrated sigh, backing up and weighing his options. He could continue to pester Senri, or he could just go away. Of course, to Leo, the answer was obvious - especially since the latter would have left him feeling like he failed in something. He hated that feeling, so he continued to be persistent, moreso for his sake than Senriâs - he just wanted to talk, and then heâd be on his way, thatâs all.
Leo hesitantly knocked on the door twice. âIâm sorry, youâre just⌠leaving me with nothing. I understand you donât want to know me, but since we were partnered up, it feels kind of like we need to at least introduce ourselves.â Cringing, he stepped back and rubbed his forehead, watching the door through the slits of his eyes. âFor Godâs sake, youâre the only person I even relatively know in this world.â
The knocking on the door was enough to cause Senriâs head to rise slightly as he listened to Leoâs words. He sat there in silence for a couple of moments before heaving a loud sigh. He got to his feet and turned back towards the door, creaking it open again and peering to look at his partner with a cold gaze. He didnât like that speech this guy was giving, or rather, he didnât care that much. He just wanted him to go away and leave him alone.
This guy already knew his name, didnât he? He was told when he got paired up with him. âWhy are you asking a question you already know the answer to?â Senri bit his lip, irritated and clearly not wanting anything to do with this man. âItâs Senri Ichinose. At least I remember your name.â Leonardo Watch, whe recalled. He wasnât sure if he had a nickname or whatever.
âThereâs nothing much worth knowing about me, really.â In his opinion, he wasnât lying. He didnât have much of a backstory to tell or whatever. After another long pause, Senriâs awkward silence indicated that he was waiting for Leoâs introduction of himself.
