the societal rejection of refugees makes me feel like exploding. refugees live with an awful (oftentimes incurable) trauma and we do nothing but reject and abuse them. im boiling with anger. i don’t know if i believe in hell… but i sure hope what jesus says is right. i sure hope that those who reject the stranger burn in eternal fire.

self care is also being honest with yourself about your negative habits and mistakes. it’s also taking ownership of your faults and growing from them. self care is diverting from a negative space to a positive one. creating light and balance. blooming. watering your own flowers. being gentle but honest with yourself.

so take care.

your adventure doesn’t begin once you move to your dream home or your favorite part of the country. it does not begin once you’re financially stable. it doesn’t begin once you have a certain amount of instagram or tumblr followers. it is now. life is happening right under your nose and if you don’t pay attention, you’ll miss it. daydreams are well and good, but if you spend all your time dreaming, you’ll forget you’re awake and breathing and living life, and you will miss it. be present. be fully alive. accept failure. begin again, and again, and again. you are writing your own story, no one else. decide what kind of story you want to write and start living it today.
