I just want to try some new markers

At first I wanted to draw Mira (from kpdh) with a armor and her gok-do as you can see I changed idea

A few days ago I saw videos of a YouTuber I follow every now and then and she reminded me of what a professor of mine said.

He said < AI is just a bunch of "If-else construct ">

I was reminded today of a rule I was given growing up, that my parents insisted was the number one thing to remember: Only do one illegal thing at a time.

And honestly my first thought when that phrase came out of my mouth today was "That sounds like a Celine rule".

So I'm not a writer or anything ... but i like physics, so I'm going to analize, from the point of view of what should happen if we follow the law of physics, the opening scene of kpdh ( the one when start "How it's done") and the Huntrix are onboard the plane.

Okay, let's start:

Usually plane travel at between 9 000-12 000 m (30 000 - 40 000 feet) , but in they film they were problably lower, when Bobby calls them he say that they are late for the concert and we see the stadium quite well.

So we don't know if they were supposed to do, but we have two realistical choice:

to jump and do a skydiving entrace (so what happened in the film)

they were supposed to "atterare" at a airport and then go to the stadium

So I'll find option 1 the most likely, so I'll use that. The altitudes used for skydiving jump are between 3000-4000m (10 000-13500 feet).

First thing I want to say is that they shouldn't have the occasion to jump because they should have been thrown out of the plane as soon it broke in two,

But let's ignore that.

Okay, I will just consider Rumi becouse it's an analog situation for the other girl.

I'm not going to be really picky and specific, I just want calculate with how much force she would arrive at the ground (and see how badly injured she supposedly would be :) )

She's not throwing herself therefor I'll assume her initial velocity as 0 m/s , as other force on the play we've just the gravitational acceleration g= -9.8 m/s^2 and I'll pick an altidute of 4000m.

The law for an accelerated motion is:

h = h_0 + v_0*t + 1/2*g*t^2

v_f = v_0 + g*t

and with our data ( h=0m h_0=4000m v_0=0m/s g=-9.8m/s^2) it become:

h = h_0 + 1/2*g*t^2, I know the distance so I can calculate the flight time

t^2 = 2h_0/g , t=28.6 s

v_f = g*t = 280.3 m/s

But we want the force at which is subjectd Rumi.

(I'll suppose Rumi mass as m=60kg, Fp = 588 N)

At the istant just before the impact we have a momentum of

p = m*v_f= 16816 Nm

Supposing an impact with a duration of t = 0.1 s

We have an impulse of

I = p_f - p_i = m(v_f - v_i)

with v_f = 0m/s and v_i= -280.3m/s

I = 16 816 Ns

And the force at with is subjected Rumi is F = I/t

F=168 168 N

I have to add her own weight force

F_t=F+Fp = 168 756 N

With an area of impact of about 0.05 m^2

So in the end I get a force for area of 3.375 *10^6 Pa, that around 33 times atmosferic pressure.

This is an unrealistic scenario in which I did not consider air friction. With the contribution of air friction the speed increases more and more slowly until it reaches the limit speed and in the end we will get much lower speeds.

Considering the air friction, I would get a terminal speed of about 80 m/s.

In the end I have I get a force for area of 9.72*10^5 Pa

Which is still much greater than the forces that the human body can bear.

For Zoey and Mira the math and the and the reasoning is quite similar.

If we want to be really picky we should go through the scene frame by frame and analyze individual actions.

Ps. This was done only for fun. I could have done some mistake, let me know if you see something that doesn't seem right

you said you're interested in how terminal velocity would be calculated. I'm not very versed in fluid dynamics but I believe that different approaches are possible, especially based on how precise the result needs to be.

Going to research skydiving more carefully I found in that context the terminal velocity is calculated with the following formula

I'm still in a nosediving position.

With this data I should find a terminal speed of v_t =100 m/s

This is a theoretical result with a lot of semplication

I got the density of the air from this table, I pick a altidute of 3000m and a temperature of 80 F.

So..okay, i usually don't post anything and i just lurk around but there are somethings that are bugging me.

( i really don't have to be here and writing this because i don't have much time lose and i should study,but let's convice ourself that this count as bit of englis writing practice, anyways.. let's start)

I'll talk about what I saw on the kpdh fanfic becouse it's the one i follow, they can be both on ao3 or here on tumblr. IT'S NOT a attack to anyone.

So the last post of @karomei489 ,the one about food, how it's mentioned in the fanfic and how some just refers the they own culture disregarding the culture of the characters or/and the place we're they live, have made me thinghink about some things that I saw and are bugging me.

Okay so, first thing that are bugging me to any fanfic writer that is from the western world... are you only from America or are you just ignorant about your own country and culture? I mean in europe the waste part of pig/cow/.. ARE USED so why the same ingredients became weird when we're in another context?

Are you disregarding the recipe that maintain alive your ancestor for FUCKING CENTURIES (and more) ,i'm not going into the details but for example, practically every country on europe has a recipe where it's used pig blood or another examples it's the "trippa romana" and the "lampredotto" where it's used the stomachs of the cow, this are things that are still really common. An example of something that are practically no one eat anymore it's the "cervelletto" (it mean brain).

So you aren't only disregarding the culture of that the caracthers but even you're own, just make some research ,it's okay even only wikipedia just don't go straight to sterotipes.

Some other thing that i want address,it's just some particular nothing thant influence the story ; in the last fic by demodemodex the italians couple that mira should meet ,the one mentioned in the first chapter, are called "castellanos" so ..uhm ,i mean it could be a italian surname but it sound a lot more as a spanish surname (even if in Spain they usually have two surname one from the father and one from the mother ) in italian it becames "castellano".

And another thing that I saw , Italy it's not a minuscule country, also it's split by the Appennini and the infrastucture especially in the South are in a bad shape. You can't go by foot from Florence to Pisa, i mean you can go but at that point it's a trip of some day, you can go by car (ah, good luck :) ) or you can use public transport (yeah ..., good luck) or get a plane but yeah, they are not so far away from eachother also ticket can be quite expensive.

Okay, that's all.. remember it's not an attack to anyone, it was just somethings that were bugging me and i wanted to address.

Sometimes when i read a fanfic and i can tell a slip up of racism into the fics.

"Rumi is a demon so she eat all kind of weird parts of a cow/pig/chicken and made Mira and Zoey ick"

And the weird food in question is just beef innner organ soup = Naejangtang, chicken feets as in one of the most famous delicious part in Korea food.

They are Korean, they wont weird out by those Karen. Can you not whiten my Korean girls?

As an Asian, sometimes it kinda exhausted to read a fic because its blatant racism but the fic and the comment agree although they write a fic about Asian living in Asian

potentially controversial take but i, as an autistic lesbian weapon nerd, habe never heard of nor seen a gok-do

Mira's weapon in kpdh is a guandao. Look at it, it is. its a guandao. and while doing research to find this mythical gok-do i only found Mira's weapon from the movie, art, 3d prints, toys, and guandaos from the real world

there is no gok-do its a guandao this has been my controversial point

also Rumi's sword fucking disgusts me. long ass handle and short ass blade. that is NOT a sword, that is an abomination of a shortsword blade on a montante handle

I'm not a weapons expert, but there are fucktons types of swords; for example, the Roman gladius and the one-handed sword are both types of swords with relatively short blades. Furthermore, from what I know, swords are weapons where maneuverability and speed are very important, and they need to be balanced, so with a very long blade (which would also increase the weight), I would have to weigh down the pommel, thus compromising maneuverability.

Also if you search "gok do" other than the merchandise you will find reference to the "woldo" a type of KOREAN weapons extremily similar to the gok-do of the film. So even if the gok do it is not a real historical weapon it's problaby ispired from the woldo

Another thing you said about Rumi's sword, which I forgot to mention, is that you said the hilt is too long ( it doesn't seem excessively long to me, however... ) but Rumi uses the sword with both a one-handed and a two-handed grip, so the hilt needs to be long enough for her to be able to hold it comfortably with two hands.

ok one last addition! if you want to take it one level higher, i think learning the very basics of at least one programming language is good for people. it makes computers less scary and it makes you feel very cool, and a lot of people get discouraged about it because it seems overly complicated and hard to learn outside a formal classroom setting, so heres some resources for learning the very basics of python (because i consider it the easiest language to learn and knowing one language will make it easier to learn others)

an online compiler so you dont need to download anything or worry about running code directly on your computer if that makes you nervous

a basic video guide to introduce you to python and walk you through beginner steps

a guide to some syntax and commands you should know (this was literally my lifeline in my first CS class)
