Blissful Dream
Family gathered from close and far,
Chatting on histories lost and old.
Some members I have never met,
Others simply fled to the bar.
Eddies bore through the evening cold,
Tugging me toward a forgotten debt
Until She loomed, still at my petite touch.
A mirage or glossy mold?
Without a shimmering veil set
My hands tighten their clutch
For I have found her soul,
Seven years ago when we met.
We emptied into the gray
Chasing our shadows in the alleyway.
Spurts and splash of puddles by and by,
Two smiles peeled, wonders in time.
Seeking refuge in solace and peace
Warm whispers found a crease
Tucked beside a crumpled, brick wall.
Downhill we slipped to fall
Caught in the net of our arms.
Silence, Bliss, Charm
Melted the boundaries of the past
Till nothing but us would last
I woke.
Alone.
Twas only a blissful dream.
