My class today
"Me: So when you see the 4 year old boy pull the little girl's hair...
Students: He likes her!
Me: Now they are around 11 or 12 and he grabs her arm and wrestles her to the ground even though she calls him a jerk and yells at him to leave her alone.
Students: That is just how boys are.
Me: Now they are 18 and he grabs her arm and--
Students: Oh, that's not okay.
Me: Really? How would he know? How would she know? How would you know? You just told me that for the first 17 years of these children's lives that you thought it was cute, sweet, and natural for a boy to grab a girl and be rough with her.
Students: Oh.
Me: Oh, is right."
Wow, this has never occured to me before. What a good point this brings up.:) Think between the ages of 12 and 18, boys are expected to figure out and appreciate the line that divides us from animals. But as the conversation above points out, if everyone just lets boys be the way they are, how are they supposed to somehow miraculously know where the draw the line? And that's not even taking into account the fact that boys mature later than girls, so we may not have the sensibility girls do at that age.
"Boys will be boys" huh...
o.O oh, silly monkeys~ hahahha! love y'all!
the true is out their
Whoa, whut...but it looks super cool!
I have a question for all you Fi Doms and aux’s out there, predominantly ISFPs, INFPs, ESFPs and ENFPs.
As an INFJ with Fe as my second most important function, I care a lot about what people think of me, and whether or not I am of any help to them. I fundamentally need to please others and know...
Hmmm, I can't speak for all INFPs, but personally, the times when I feel the most accepting and at peace with myself is when someone expresses their concern, love and understanding for me, even more so if it's by someone I care about. In the absence of others however, I don't really love myself, despite my efforts in proving to myself that I'm worth that compassion.
dream date: let’s get absorbed in deep conversation and discover each other’s sadness and fears.
Yeap, that does sound like a dream date for me.
Cool.
"The name of this picture is "Who leaves first shall die". In this picture, even though the girl said if the guy leaves he will die but her hand is..." (Click on the link to see the picture and read more)
Something I found on Facebook to be very cool.:)
If I were to be really honest though, I don't at all fancy when people say things like the description. And I like it even less when people who have experienced negativity like that in the past comment to express their strong agreeability to the statement.
Why you ask? Well, it is because of shit like that that divides people into groups who fight each other. And the best part is, statements like that in the description are always over-generalising.
While I applaud the artist's creativity and insight, and appreciate how everyone should have the freedom to express their views on life based on experiences, there will always be people who unwittingly get stuck in the paradigm of whatever the author says. Personally, I believe there is always a story behind every expression a person makes, verbal or otherwise, and that encapsulates the thoughts and feelings of the author about an issue, BUT it's almost never the whole story.
For me at least, there is usually a good reason behind everything that happens to a person, and a simple expression like "girls will ________, while guys will always ______" seem to get readers believing the statement for what it says ONLY, and generalise everything around them with that statement.
And that may be all right for most, but there will be the ones who always speak out, and it is these people who will cause trouble for an otherwise understanding society.
That aside though, like I said, the insight and artistic mind behind that image truly is something...
What is it about cartoon characters tilting their heads that make them look so evil...
Anyways, this is hilarious!
Nostalgia for the child in me, and awesome music arrangement for the musician I'd like to be.
Have always admired her guitar ability and how resonant and crisp her singing is. Though this is a very rough recording, this performance really brought out both capabilities of hers, especially the singing. Was hooked on this for a while.:)
Pretty colours~
