Sick of all the hype over romantic scenes? Or just wish more love for platonic moments? Well, here's the blog!
In this bracket we'll be voting for the best platonic moment (which can be different compared to best platonic relationship)
Submissions open until Sunday, August 6th, 6pm EST
Either 32 or 64 submissions will make it into the poll, depending on responses and my mood
Submission rules:
- submissions happen in this google form
- platonic, in this case, will be referring to dynamic that does not end up as romantic, nor is familial (friends, found family, those all work)
- 1 moment per submission
- image of submission required (if in format such as a podcast, provide a screenshot of the transcript you want to display)
- one submission slot will be reserved for my own submission (Jung Heewon & Kim Dokja, Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint, "that man is the world I wish to save")
- Very possible that only 1 per fandom will make it into the poll, will decide later
- no hp or dsmp, I'm not trying to deal with any drama + I have the right to deny stuff (will most likely not need to, but we'll see)

Congrats to the Winners of the 2023 Sibling Showdown, Nani and Lilo!
Nani and Lilo from Lilo and Stitch received 4 submissions for this showdown, 1/4 the amount of submissions as our first seed siblings, but they've been a clear favorite since the beginning. In the first round, they beat Kai and Nya from Lego Ninjago 78.2% to 21.8%, then moved on to beat Candace, Phineas, and Ferb from Phineas and Ferb 74.8% to 25.2% in round two, then Eda and Lilith from The Owl House 76.4% to 23.6% in round three. In the quarter finals, they beat Yakko, Wakko, and Dot from The Animaniacs 68.3% to 31.7%, then emerged victorious against Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy from The Chronicles of Narnia 65.2% to 34.8% in the semi-finals.
The finals was by far their closest challenge yet, but they still beat their opponents, Dick, Jason, Tim, Damian, Cass, and Duke from DC Comics, by over 8% at 54.2% to 45.8%. 1626 people voted for them in the finals!

“Nani has practically raised Lilo since their parents died, yet she never acts like a stand in mother, just a big sister doing her best. despite all of Lilo's quirks, Nani loves her unconditionally, and while Lilo may sometimes feel like Nani doesn't know best, she still loves and respects her to the point where she'll do anything to not be separated from her and placed into foster care”

“They are really compelling because it's representation for eldest daughters who have to care for younger siblings. Unfortunately I mean that in more than just the literal eldest daughter syndrome way- Nani is literally Lilo's guardian because their parents died. Anyway they are great! Despite the roles they've been forced to fall into, they still act like SIBLINGS, like not a mother and daughter or something. Native Hawai'ian representation! And Nani swept the eldest sibling showdown poll so I wonder if love for her as an elder sibling would carry for here, too. “They are one of the most complex families in media today. They're not only a blended, single-parent family, but they also all work together as vigilantes which only makes they're dynamics more complex. For example, the boys not only are brothers but they also have all held the same vigilante role as Robin, which amplifies sibling rivalry, jealousy, etc. And I love them so you should put them in“

Duke might be just a ward, under Bruce's care, but he's a sibling like the others. They all are siblings.

Whatever he is in canon doesn’t matter here. Wayne Family Adventures isn’t canon, it’s fanon, as far as I know, so if Duke is a sibling or not shouldn’t matter.
We can still say Duke is a sibling whether it’s fanon or canon. Let us have that much.

The rules of this showdown included foster siblings. Duke was canonically fostered by Bruce, so he was included in this sibling set along with the other characters who were legally put under Bruce's care and lived at the manor with him at various points.
Also, Wayne Family Adventures is produced by DC, making it part of the DC canon. It may not portray the batfam in the same way that the comics do, but "canon events" are already fuzzy in the DC universe due to the numerous reboots that have occurred and numerous comic series that take place in different universes.

Nani won the @eldest-sibling-tournament and the two of them are currently in the finals for @siblingshowdown and the same reasons for those wins also apply here, also they deserve the triple win and it would be funny
Lilo is PEAK younger sibling energy. The wild shenanigans. The intentionally driving oldest sibling insane. The "I don't need your help!!!" while very much needing help. The being small and adorable in a way that makes everyone love her. The being equally half feral in the most amusing way possible.
She's the sweetest and weirdest little girl ever, and just wants to be loved. But because her older sister is her caretaker she also fights so hard against everything because she instinctively needs to maintain that chaos sibling vibe. But she ultimately loves her big sister, and all of their adopted alien family members SO much and will do anything to protect and stay with them
She is 6yo and adopts an alien as something between her pet and twin brother, and flies around Hawaii in a hover car fighting aliens all day while her older sister frantically tries to keep her alive. If that isn't the funniest and most younger sibling thing ever to you, you're lying
She reminds me of my youngest sister and several of my little cousins. My baby sis actually once asked me if she's Lilo or Stitch (she's both)
