Tandy dodges. “Where did the vampires come from?”

Ty is swaying on his feet. “Not sure. But I think I’m sick to my…stomach?”

"Oh my god, you did not eat one.”

"It seemed like the thing to do at the time." He definitely looks queasy, but he scoops her up from behind the altar anyway, and they teleport up into the chorus loft. “I’m going to throw up.”

"I’ve got your back." She looks down from the loft, sights, and hurls a light knife.

It takes a vampire full in the chest. The vampire looks down at it, shrieks, and explodes in a puff of dust. As Ty retches miserably behind her, she hurls knife after knife, and the vampires—shrieking, bat-like things, nothing like what she’s seen in movies—continue to disintegrate.

After a moment he manages to get up again, wrapping his arms around her waist. “Ok, how many are—wow. That is…did you get all of them?”

And of course, a last vampire pops up over the railing of the loft.

Tandy tosses a dagger point blank between its eyes. “I have now.”
