Chevrolet Camaro Yenko SS L72 427, 1967. The Yenko Super Camaro was a first-generation preparation by the Yenko Chevrolet dealership, developed by owner and racer, Don Yenko. When the Camaro debuted, a General Motors corporate edict prevented it from carrying an engine larger than 400ci (6.6 litres). Yenko felt there was a market for more powerful Camaros and found ways around the GM limit. His version placed the Corvette's 450hp L72 427ci (7.0-litre) V8 in SS Camaros with heavy-duty suspension and M21 transmission. Yenko fitted fibreglass hoods styled after the "Stinger" hood used on big-block Corvettes. In total, 54 were made.
