dear santa i wish for a manosaba EN localization january release
Miria Saeki Character Design Reference Compilation
i'm just going to grit my teeth and accept this stupid content warning label idc idrc IDC
Notes - There appears to be an "early" Miria and an "updated" Miria, the only difference is "updated" Miria has lace on her dress straps and bodice.
- Her chibi is missing: beadstrings on large head bow, second necklace loop on necklace, and flowers on shoulder netting. Whether due to simplification or by mistake (ie. chibi Sherry's matching shoes) cannot be determined.
- Due to lighting and the fact Miria wears both silver and gold jewelry on her fingers, I have trouble discerning whether her earrings are all gold or whether the spikes and some of the ball stud earrings are silver. Her chibi and birthday art draws her with all gold earrings.
- It's difficult to tell whether the square spaces on the border of her stockings are filled with white or don't have anything in them.
- I've seen fan art that's drawn it solid white, which led me to color-test and realize, yeah, I would say there's a difference. However, her Tokyo Tower art and birthday art point to that not being the case.
- Miria's right hand (left side of the screen) is very clearly unpainted. Her left hand (right side of the screen) very clearly is. My first thought was: can she not paint her nails with her left hand? That's pretty fucking funny lol. However, her birthday art has both hands painted so the moral of the story is this shit doesn't matter and do whatever the hell you want. Can't believe I went through all of this trouble for a character I'm only going to ever draw like twice (still love you though girl✌️) but hopefully it can help out any future Miria fan artists out there because they'll sure as hell need it apparently.
"Early" Miria Full Body (5/26/24) Chibi Art (5/8/24)
"Updated" Miria Tokyo Tower Collab (5/26/25) Game Release (7/18/25)

Manosaba Character Design Ranking
I have my complaints as you will very quickly come to see, but I do like all of the designs. Or, is that just me liking all of the characters? Who can really say.
Anyways, several designs are actually very close in ranking, if not ranked equally, but are simply placed higher or lower based on how I'm feeling at this current point of time arbitrarily. I have never been a consistent person.
disclaimer: my opinion is just my subjective opinion blah blah this is just for fun you know the drill let's get started
15. Prison Guard me when I've lost all of my humanity and have become a monstrous human-killing husk but still gotta accessorize
MOTIF + PERSONALITY Prison Guard + Witch. Emotionless, murderous, inhuman. Conveyed well enough.
DESIGN The weapons stuck in its head are illegible and silly looking. The spindly arms would be cooler if they weren't jointed. The cloak is solid enough; the Little Nightmares hood shape, iron collar, and triangle collar add that little something something to the design. The mask is, whatever, honestly. There's a moon and sun motif? Guess that's kind of interesting. Just kind of lackluster for what's supposed to be the main monster, you know?
Overall, jail.
14. Hanna Tono i respect the designer so hard for not going the pink princess route for the ojou-sama character and choosing green instead.
though, Ema's already pink, and maybe they just needed to make somebody green.
MOTIF + PERSONALITY Floating/Wind + Ojou-sama. A young girl playing at being a mature and refined woman, and wearing a poor girl's idea of a royal person's dress. I think it's conveyed quite well, but only after reading her bio.
DESIGN The overwhelming details of her outfit (white, yellow, and black roses, bird wings, lotus fan, daisies, fur, tulips, bellflowers, leaves, bow, ruffles, lace, sheer lace) convey the perception of extravagance a girl who grew up poor would have; more is more.
Makes sense personality wise, but design wise, it's a mess.
Do not like the mismatched shoes. Her dress is unflatteringly proportioned and like no dress I have ever seen before. Again, as if a dress from a child's drawing was translated as literally as possible into real life. Great, personality wise, but not so design wise. I praise the designer for this, but I don't even know if it's intentional.
Fine hair. The KAngel twintails aren't bad.
But overall, Hanna ToNo Thank You.
13. Alisa Shito her leg irons must sound loud as fuck clanging on the floor when she walks
MOTIF + PERSONALITY Fire + Witch + Delinquent. A standoffish girl who doesn't gel with others. Conveyed well enough.
DESIGN What is the belt. Just, what is it? The hoodie and off the shoulder cape is not working for me. It looks like they couldn't decide between a sarashi and sports bra, and went with the tank top dress to try doing both. Boots are uninspired.
The thing that annoys me the most are the tears on the front that her right leg should be showing through, but is just, not there.
Bandaged neck + stitched up neck + belt neck choker does not look good, but is so OTT I kind of have to respect the brazenness.
Fine hair. I do like the scribble graphics. I like the melty parts of her clothing. Having both melty and ragged edges feels greedy but this design is already doing too much so I'll just say I don't mind. I like how the underside of her hair, dress and cape are red. I don't like that her nails are because of that however. Just being pedantic, I suppose.
But overall, a hot mess.
12. AnAn Natsume that dress weighs as much as her and those straps are digging canyons into her shoulders for sure
MOTIF + PERSONALITY Sleeping + Hikikimori. A shut-in who is easily exhausted and doesn't like to talk. The impracticality and weight of her dress adds to her sense of incapability. Conveyed well enough.
DESIGN Impractical to the point of absurdity. She communicates through writing, yet her sleeves go far past her wrists. She is constantly holding a pillow and sketchbook, both of her hands are occupied. Where does she keep her pens? I can respect impracticality in character design up to a point. This may cross it.
The dress is dummy heavy, but her shoulders are bare. It's not the worst, but it feels unbalanced. Don't like that gap between the dress and the floor. Her dress should either hit the floor if it wants the ballgown shape or drop straight down. The Minnie Mouse bows need to appear more, or less. Eh hair. I don't like the side pony but it's not the worst, I guess.
I like the slippers. The layers of ruffles are good. She looks like a mattress. The orange on her sketch book is great, it makes it stand out.
But overall, I sleep. YawnYawn Natsumeh.
11. Coco Sawatari gamer gril
MOTIF + PERSONALITY Devilish Streamer. A provoking girl with a sharp tongue. Shark teeth doing some heavy lifting here, nothing wrong with that though. Conveyed well enough.
DESIGN I like the concept of her outfit. Tank top and pajama-like hoodie, casual streaming fit but magical-girl elevated. I don't like how busy it is. Polka dot and bear pattern, two skulls with heart eyes, cat plush, etc. etc. Too much. And don't like the structure.
Those belts cannot be diagonal. I won't accept it. Not one bandaid on her knee, but two and they're not even on top of each other. Too much. I get why they added the bat wings, but they feel tacked on. Poor shoe situation.
Love the cat ear headphones. The circles on the tips and mismatched patterns really do it for me. Love her circle hair clips too. They remind me of the holes you plug cables into.
Good hair. Love the restrained orange streak. Very tasteful.
But overall, Miss Coco(nut) can take another crack at it. (that was pretty bad. maybe I should take another crack at it)
10. Leia Hasumi idk i don't have anything particularly witty to say here
MOTIF + PERSONALITY Stage Actor + Prince. An androgynous girl who other girls fall for and takes on a proactive leader role. You can tell she's princely, but she's also pretty friendly and upbeat in game, which you don't quite see at first glance. But this is just one of her many sprites. Anyways, conveyed well enough.
DESIGN It's very... safe. I wish it wasn't such a slim design, and her shoulders were made broader. The cuffs are oversized in a silly way. She's toothpick thin, but I guess that conveys she's an idol though.
Her coat needs a lapel. Two waistbelts is dumb. Her stand up collar looks silly. Chest cravat accessory is too small. Sword should be longer.
Ugh, you know what she needs? A cape.
Love the hairpiece, love the hair.
But overall, tomato tomato tomato tomato.
9. Meruru Hikami me when my hair hasn't dried yet so i put a towel on it
MOTIF + PERSONALITY Healing + Nun + Anxious. A worrywart girl who cares for others and cries a lot. Would have made the crosses wider to more resemble the traditional medical cross, personally. Anyways, conveyed well enough.
DESIGN I like the layers of the dress. I like the stitches and tears. I like that the sash is gray. Hair is fine.
Would add a line of black ribbon between the yoke and the ruffle, maybe. Shoes could have been better.
It's a plain design. It's safe, it's solid, a little boring and very plain.
Overall, very Protestant of her.
8. Saeki Miria okay. look. she is my fav. and I am biased. she is going to be getting the most compliments out of all the girls.
MOTIF + PERSONALITY Shiro Gyaru + Old Fashioned Movie Starlet. A beautiful girl who refers to herself as an oji-san and has low self esteem. Her personality isn't terribly well conveyed through her design, but the gap is the point.
The starlet theme is a reach I personally came up with. Huge blonde hair and blue eyes and dimple, the black and white outfit, the old-timey black and white stripes, the film reel-esque pattern on the edge of her stockings, and she's the only one who holds her cellphone in her sprite despite everyone having one because the second function of a phone everyone thinks of after calling is the camera. Or social media even.
I am stretching, but reading way too deep into characters is all part of the fun.
DESIGN Love her hair. The braid and the high side pony, with the big bow and two little ones. Not crazy about the bangs but it's fine.
Love the piercings. Really makes her unique. Dangling earrings probably could have been on both ears, but it's also fine only on one.
Love the ruffle choker. Would have had a chain necklace instead of beaded, that connected to the fabric on the front, but I guess it's fine.
IDK if I'm a fan of the off the arm puff sleeves but it's fine. Love the sleeves.
Not crazy about the chest area's part of the dress. Not crazy about the lace shoulder sleeves. Would maybe make the straps wider.
I love the white button up that ends in a scallop. I love the layer of scallops underneath, and the layer of black and white striped ruffle underneath that and the layer of ruffled tulle underneath that. I love the layers of scallops on the side, and the white bows on the sides. And I REALLY LOVE the black ribbon with gold stripes that goes down the dress. It just really makes the outfit for me, it's so SO GOOD.
Love the enormous back bow and its tails. Love the film reel part of her stockings and the white criss cross pattern. Like her boots. Love how she's always holding her phone. Wish it had keychains on it. Love the slight orange in her eyes.
But overall, even if I'm biased and I love her design and character, it's still a bit too busy for its own good and has areas it could improve in. Saeki Miriawesome.
7. Sherry Tachibana everyone's favorite gorilla fairy
MOTIF + PERSONALITY Superhuman strength + Detective. A cheerful girl who follows what interests her and lacks morals. Her super strength is meant to be at odds with her appearance, and I suppose the same can be said for her lack of morals.
DESIGN The white bow on the hat is a bit much, but it's fine. The lapel of her cape is a bit odd but whatever. A bigger, fancier bag would be better. Love her big skirt. Love the black underskirt. I've come around to the full boot and regular shoe combo.
It's very safe and solid and almost boring. Overall, she's a bit lacking, just like her sense of morality.
6. Noah Jogasaki GIRL PUT ON A RESPIRATOR SPRAY PAINT FUMES ARE NOT A JOKE
MOTIF + PERSONALITY Liquid Manipulation + Street Artist Prodigy. A ditzy girl who does as she pleases. You sorta get the impression she's an artist first and person second. Kind of fits her actually.
DESIGN Love the ears on her enormous beret. Rainbow bangs are great. The red, blue, and yellow of her pigtails, and the red, blue, and yellow spotted ribbons on her pigtails, its a little much. I would omit the ribbons entirely.
The quilting on the inside of her coat adds that street fashion flair. Wish the outside of it were a bit more stylish, but it's fine. The brushes clipped onto it are super duper cute. Why does it have a zipper and buttons.
Love the dots that look like they were sprayed on. Love the transparent hem of her skirt. Love the melty hems.
The differently colored boots really work here.
But overall, she's Noah Jogas-okay.
5. Margo Housho Hi, I'm a purple themed liar with a checkerboard pattern in my outfit trapped in a death game. Awww, you're sweet. Hi, I'm a purple themed themed liar with a checkerboard pattern in my outfit trapped in a death game and I literally came before Manosaba. Hello, human resources?!
MOTIF + PERSONALITY Liar + Grifter. A scammer girl who treats everyone in a friendly manner. The mini top hat says it all. Conveys it well enough, I suppose.
DESIGN That's a lot of butterflies. Patterns are patterning all over the pace but they look fine. The foundation of her outfit is quite good. Adore the shawl. Possibly what makes the design for me The split skirt and the sheer ruffle extending its length is quite good. Shoes are cute. Would have given her platforms. Not crazy about the halter straps. Great hair.
But overall, nishishi.
4. Nanoka Kurobe anyways I started blasting
MOTIF + PERSONALITY Military + Schoolgirl. A mysterious stoic girl who reacts coldly to others. Yep.
DESIGN Unfortunately, she's almost entirely clad in black, so all of the details blend together into one flat shadow. It does suits her, but it's a bit plain in that sense.
Love her huge hat. Love her gun hairclips. The triangle knives are bit much. Love her hair. Love her dead fish eyes.
Love the cross between military and schoolgirl outfit. The jacket with the belts, baggy puff sleeves, and ammo boxes melds so well with her regular tartan jumper.
The choker necklace is a bit much. Could do without the waistbelts.
Her elbow pads are so cute. The two belts on her legs are the perfect touch. Her boots are top tier.
But overall, NanOMGka Waiirobe.
3. Ema Sakuraba no that's wrong
MOTIF + PERSONALITY Cherry Blossoms + Tomboy. A sweet girl who uses the boku pronoun and wants desperately to be liked by others. Yep.
DESIGN Fabulous main character design. Down to earth and regular, but with just the right amount of detail to not be too boring.
The two tone hair is fabulous. The extra long strand of hair is excellent.
Love the double collar. Love the cherry blossom petal extensions on her collar ribbon tails. They hit gold with that. Would have made the gem smaller or larger.
The flowers on the sleeves are excellent. The assymetrical split of the dress is excellent.
Not crazy about the one piece jumper she's wearing underneath. Two garters is a bit much. Would have left it at one, personally. Would put some white decals on the beret.
I get what the shoes are going for but do not like them. The socks are cute.
But overall, an ideal main character design. Ema SakurabA+.
2. Hiro Nikaido kay i'm getting tired
MOTIF + PERSONALITY Poinsettia + Student Council + Yamato Nadeshiko. A studious girl with strict views on right and wrong. The student council armband says it all. Yep.
DESIGN Fabulous foil to the main character. They both have double collars and the same style of sleeves, but the split in Hiro's skirt is on the opposite side, she wears her head accessory on the opposite side, her hair is longer, and her color palette is the opposite of Ema's.
The color chain across the tie is fabulous. The asymmetrical cape is fabulous. The split skirt is fabulous.
Not exactly crazy about her headpiece, it's a bit gaudy, but it's fine. Her shoes could be flashier.
But overall, Kino NiKino. Just a really solid design.
Gokucho look at him he's so cutes
the end
i'm manosaba-ing out

2) Back making Sew the Back of the Body [Body Outer]. Leave the opening in the middle unstitched. Look at the marks and pay attention to the front and back.
3) Align the torso Sew (1) and (2) together, leaving a hole for the butt and neck (approximately 8mm or 1 cm for the joint). Open the tips of the front legs to the side, flatten them, and sew (see bottom right).
3a) Detailed diagram of how to sew the front legs [Front legs (back side)] <- -> Spread the tips of the front legs out to the side and flatten them l V [Front legs (back side)] Sew in the shape of a foot. Cut off the excess seam allowance.
4) Making hind legs. Sew the left and right lines of the [Hind Legs (inside)] and [Hind Legs (outside)]. Sew the darts of [Hind Legs (outside)]. Sew on the [soles] of the legs.
5) Sew on the body Pay attention to the direction of the legs and sew the hind legs to the body. Line up the alignment marks and make sure they go straight down.
6) Make a tail Leave the opening and the base where the joint will be attached unsewn, and turn it inside out. Attach a joint at the base of the tail.
7) Make a frame The wire is shaped into a ring and spray painted (yellow). The wire is attached to the cut out transparent file with glue, and passed through the ears.
8) Make triangular ears If you sew the felt and fur together lightly, the fur will float, but this is fine for now.
9) Make floppy ears Turn it inside out, leaving an opening for turning, and insert wire to sew the opening. Color it (the ends with the soft pink pastel), thread the gold ring (attached to the cut out transparent file) through it, and attach the (red) buttons.
Color with soft pastels. Apply a thick layer and shake off any excess powder to get the desired effect.
10) Make the head Sew 6 darts in total and sew the front and back together. Leave a hole for the neck to pass the joint through and an opening for turning. Once sewn, turn it inside out.
11) Combining. If you want to move the head or tail, use joints to connect them to the body. If you can't get hold of joints, sew them together firmly by hand. Look for them in the stuffed animal section of a craft store.
12) Insert the wire Insert wire into the body and tail. Make a circle above the neck so that the head can rest on it. After roughly shaping it, insert wire through the opening and align it.
13) Fill the body, tail, and head with cotton. Use a stick to push the remaining part in. Pack it evenly, avoiding the wire.
14) Sew the opening Seal the back, head and tail.
15) Make eyes Scan the pattern from the magazine and transfer it to the printed fabric, then cut it out. Make a covered button that fits the base. Refer to the package for instructions on how to make a covered button. If you temporarily attach the fabric and base with double sided tape before making it, the center will not shift.
16) Make a mouth Stick the pattern onto the back of the sticker felt and cut out the shape. 17) Add ears, eyes, and mouth and back patterns Bend the triangular ears and sew them to the head so that they are evenly balanced. Sew the drooping ears to the inside of the triangular ears. Sew the eyes on like buttons and stick number 16 on for the mouth. Stick the pattern on the back as well.
Kyubey says: You can use felt for the ear buttons instead. If you make the body out of fleece and the eyes with iron-on printing, it will look like this. If you use a joint, it will move but will be a little wobbly, so if this bothers you, you can sew it on directly without using a joint.

hi! the worm Charlotte translation/tutorial was so helpful! Thank you so much for sharing that! I was wondering if you ever plan on doing the kyubey one?
Wow, glad to hear so, yay
Urgh, to be totally honest I haven't even sewn together the kyubey plush yet.
If/when I get around to it, I'll be able to upload the google TL of the instructions since that's just a natural product of the process.
As for the pattern pieces, because of how much more complexly shaped they are than worm Charlotte's, I might resort to taking a pic of each piece with a ruler next to them.
So overall, it's a very, Very, tentative "maybe".......
Thank you for the ask!
What drawing app do you use?
the free IbisPaintX app!
not feeling crazy about these but posting them anyways
