Oh and I also just stuck bloo in a silly robe bc while I KNOWWWW theres a runes professor mentioned n all, IDC cause we dont really see runes as a class much. I also like the idea of runes being more like literal inscriptions added to items.

Like yes, they're more or less Hieroglyphics to read historical literature in Canon, but its borrringgg. I think having runes as a connector to more archaic types of magic is interesting. Like dude, we HAVE fire spells, we dont need to scratch oit a runes to make fire anymore. And Yes! We do! but having an area rug with a rune inscription that burns your feet if you arent keyed in takes up less energy to maintain than wards if the purpose is to keep people out of this specific room.

Is it always useful? No, but for spells that I want to have a specific setup for activation, it works! I dont have to shell out a fortune for wards, when I can just apply a rune. Or like if I wanna have a charmed item, but again! A specific instance where i can control how or when it does something, it could be cool.

=/ I just think having what could be essentially CODING for magic, could be rlly cool.
