Someone asked if I was cosplaying Wallace today and that’s how I found out that I put on the exact same fit as him…
I think those fancomics where Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes is transgender are cute and fun but I also think it's a deep misunderstanding of Calvin's character to think he would transition into a heterosexual normie who goes to her high school reunion. That girl would have neopronouns and fang implants
Adult Calvin is a tattoo artist named Panthera who is the bassist in a terrible metal band called Captain Napalm and Hobbes helps do faer E injections
I know it's like 2 weeks too late to change it but I'm so mad I didn't realize that the band would obviously be called "Get Rid Of Slimy GirlS". I walk the road of shame

Zubat is a broadcast symbol.
I noticed years ago that the wings look like stylized "soundwaves" but the meaning of its two long stick legs JUST clicked and I can't find anyone else pointing this out?!
saw an ad outside a local restaurant that said "have a star-crossed dinner this valentine's day"
do...do people not know being star-crossed is bad?
"come here and have a dinner that's cursed by fate"
everone in the replies going "no it isnt" and "ive never heard it used that way before" take a look around at what and who you are surrounding yourself with. ignorance is contagious, never just assume you know the actual literal meaning of anything, look it up

The Last Unicorn displayed with different palettes from the movie.
This took about three hours in Photoshop. I screencapped about thirty frames from the movie and made my little unicorn outline. Then I painted the movie consecutively throughout the unicorn (as I watched it in the background). I tried to make sure on her shoulders and hips that the moment encapsulated both the legs, so the mountain on her shoulder is their traveling background and appears before Mommy Fortuna’s carnival as well as before their trip to the Greenwood. The Red Bull on her hips is right before they get to the castle but also before the ocean swallows him up. If you want to support a lesbian art student you can buy this design on a great many things in my Redbubble shop.

IMPORTANT NOTE: the above image showcases not one, but two inappropriately bent spinal contours. One (lower) bends the head down (as if looking at a phone), and the second (higher) lifts the chin up again to a seemingly more neutral position (like looking at a computer monitor at a desk job). The result is an s-curve to your neck, jutting your head forward and wreaking hell on your cervical discs without you even knowing it. With this kind of posture, being told to correct your posture will compel you to “fix” the second bend but not the first unless you are consciously aware of it (and most aren’t), and the weight maldistribution of your head will cause problems down the line.
If you have chronically bad posture, the good kind will feel awful at first because it uses small muscle groups that aren’t used to being engaged for long periods of time. A healthy posture shouldn’t feel like tilting your head up or down, but pulling it back while keeping your eyes level (it should feel more natural if you keep your shoulders pulled back too). Practice chin-tucks and that will help you ward off the curse known as cervical spondylotic myelopathy.

Wally Dion, Green Star Quilt, 2019 circuit boards, brass wire, copper tube
I SAW THIS IN THE PORTLAND ART MUSEUM! ITS HUGE!
it shimmers like no gemstones i've ever seen: green as malachite and emerald but shot through with opal, gold, copper. photographs can't do it justice because of how it shines, as well as the way the actual material elements have their own dimensions. you can lean in and study all the fine lines of the circuits or step back and admire how the rearranged whole forms new patterns. it's one of the most beautiful creations i've ever seen.
which path will you follow?
- muddy footprints between the trees
- dusty gravel next to a wheat field
- asphalt lined with neon lights
- bumpy cobblestone, old and mossy
- sandy boardwalk near the waves
- icy path high in the mountains
- i will stand still in place

'A popular fanfic author stopped updating her fic because she said that the stress of being constantly falsely accused of using AI was a witch hunt and it was destroying her mental health to the extent that she needed to take a break from writing, leading to multiple online discussions defending her and debates about AI accusations and how You Can't Really Tell So Leave Her Alone, and then someone realised that there were Claude coding artefacts in her fics and that it was a super pervasive problem in that particular fandom, proven definitively by looking at the source coding of each work on AO3, and she denied it for a bit but then ultimately admitted that oopsie, she had been using genAI all along, and then she deleted all of her fics off AO3 and people got mad because they were being denied access to their favourite fics, even though they now knew definitively that they were genAI slop, and then it turned out that she'd actually stopped updating the fic on AO3 in the first place because she'd been shopping it around to agents and editors as an original work with the serial numbers filed off, and she'd been in conversations with a publisher which ultimately got dropped because she'd lied to them about her AI use' oh cool, so we're in Hell, then
Let me be clear: if you use AI to write fanfic, paticularly if you do so in the hopes of snapping up a tradpub deal off the basis of the popularity of your worthless slop, then you are an absolute grade A ding-dong, and may the vengeful spirits of our beloved Spirk Elders haunt you via the medium of perpetual papercuts forevermore.
I am unaware of who this is referring to and feel like a small fishing boat that just saw the dorsal fin of Leviathan off the starboard bow
That is so extremely valid, and truly I wish that I had not myself plunged into the depths and seen the truth of the Leviathan (a gigantic plastic fish effigy that's broken off a derelict Fish & Chip shop and washed into the Atlantic: a harbinger of doom in its own synthetic tongue)
So many lessons in fandom and life boil down to make your own works for love of the game, don't go looking for ways to be an asshole to people, don't lie when people ask you something that challenges you to be better, and don't fucking cheat.
I wondered about this. I'm allergic to penicillin, anyway.
The problem isn't the penicillin
The problem is that the amount of penicillin in a slice of bread is so miniscule that you'd need to eat a vast amount to receive a medical dose.
Bread mold also has a shit load of toxins that vastly outnumber the amount of penicillin. These mycotoxins over time cause liver, kidney, immune system, brain and heart damage, hemmhoraging, ovulation disruption and damage to semen production.
That's what's gonna kill you first.
I have a question:
If you get pre-sliced bread, and one slice has visible mold, are the other slices ok. Some people I know find it gross , but I've been doing it since I was young because my mum said it's ok
Mold has invisible root networks throughout the porous material of the bread. Also, the spores get airborne so it's likely that it has spread through the rest of the bread.
It's literally impossible with the naked eye to tell how far it has spread, so best case scenario is to chuck the whole loaf.
