First attempt was almost succeeded! Unfortunately it’s not enough power to lift it up, but I already found a solution!
Final mechanical edition of siege tank’s gun. Probably color scheme will be changed.
Siege function added!
All instructions will be later.
...and after at least 20 tries I finally found good mechanism of wheal support. It wasn’t easy to find a good solution with strong connection to keep all tank on 4 points. Some unsuccessful tries are here:
All of them had one big problem: they are not enough strong to keep tank’s weight. Finally, it’s just a mechanic and after some tries I made wheals support I need:
Good luck everyone and Happy New Year!!!

Okay, which step should be first? Of course buying some Lego... and after hundreds watched lego sets reviews I picked this one, second in a row biggest set:
Hmm, it’s not so familiar with tank, but this set have much more common with final idea then others. You can find full info by it’s identifier number (42009). And full list of pieces is here. Mostly important that I have now few big and small linear actuators as well as toothed bars, motor and about 2600 other peaces to make a mechanical skeleton of the tank.
Hope it is the last lego set I bought - all other pieces as well as motors and remotes will be ordered separately. $250 are gone forever from mu budget. Sad but true, but we still have $250 left :)
And of course I definitely had fun with assembling it :) ...after 3 days:
Here is some photo from my evening workshop, but here you can find much more interesting assembling video and review.
Ready to roll out!
Hi all! It’s a story about making a StarCtaft 2 Siege tank model from Lego. From scratch. No instructions. Only hardcore. I am not a lego geek yet :), and have no baggage of thousands lego pieces - all staff will be purchased by demand.
So, here are the goals:
Budget limit is up to $500 (USD)
Fully functional: Siege/Unsiege mode, movement, tower rotation and fire (optional for now)
Remote control for all actions
Minimum number of motors, actuators and remote controls
Only original unmodified Lego pieces
And the final: in the rare case of success this model will be sold on ebay auction as well as all other purchased lego pieces :)
Instagram is here.
Let’s rock!
