my headcanons about relationships on the Z-Team: Unexpected Synergies, And Who Doesn't Like Each Other That Much?
Malevola & Visi: obviously brat/brat tamer relationship. Might be both sexual and not. Visi's a loner, and Mal's all-roundedness makes her ideal for tackling missions alone, so when they work together? They don't overstep, help out as much as the other needs and not a hair more, which suits them and makes them efficient. (It was a long, hard way, though.)
Sonar & Visi: doesn't work. Sonar has book smarts, Visi has street smarts, and they both think the other is the stupidest member of the team.
Visi & Flambae: they can actually be civil with each other (although their 'civil' looks very different from other people's civil.) Their shared crush on Robert makes for great, almost cute bonding on good days and remorseless fights on bad days. There's one thing, though: Flambae is often almost fiercely protective of Visi. He's used to protecting his sister, his mother, his niece, Prism, random women in need of help on missions, so he sees a tan-skinned girl younger than him and it's Protect On Sight. He especially shuts down cops or bystanders on missions, who feel the need to goon all over 'hot Latine stereotypes'. He has seen it all - not on his watch! Visi doesn't appreciate.
Flambae & Malevola: there's only one free slot in her mental space for "obnoxious guy" and its 120% occupied by Sonar. She just doesn't have the energy for another one, so she tends to avoid him. Can appreciate his effort to become a hero, though. It's a drive similar to hers.
Malevola & Coupé: they both are Getting Shit Done. Talking about their mutual deep passion for media is how they spend their breaks. While the stories they engage with don't have much in common, they enjoy theorizing and debating narrative techniques etc.
Punch Up & Prism: nope. They're both charismatic personas, but their charisma works on very different types of people, and they don't really fit well together. It's not an outright clash, but spending too much time with those two in a bar can lead to a subconscious feeling of imbalance or even tension.
Visi & Coupé: I think Visi might be weirdly attracted to Coop. You, believing yourself to be an irredeemable villain, meet someone whose villain potential is so much darker, and yet they persevere and try to be better. Plus, them both choosing Red Ring as the next safest option for leading their lives might tell us something about the similarity of their brain patterns. Punch Up & Malevola: they're both down to earth, emotionally intelligent, rather brawny types who like to engage in fights. Of course they like each other.
