"I do, actually. Granted, itâs not much, but I still do more than just school,â Theo glared playfully at the girl before laughing. âYou realise you just described yourself with that whole complain bit, right? Because that certainly ainât me.â He looked down at the pen in his hand and fiddled with it, nodding at her next statement, âYeah, I do, too.â Although, the reasons for him wanting it to work out werenât as clear anymore. He wasnât sure how, but in his gut, he could tell things were going to change. Whether they be for the better, or worse, he wasnât sure, and if he were honest with himself, he was a little worried. But, looking up to see the girl in front of him, helped put his mind at ease. Who knows, if the pair actually do become friends down the line, maybe when their parents break up, they can still be friends? Well, hereâs to hoping. âYeah, Iâm thinking I will, but donât let it get to your head, punk,â he replied lightheartedly. In the short silence, he took some time to study the girl, her body language, her facial expressions and features, but was interrupted by her words. He couldnât help the smile that crept onto his face. âNice to know the feelings might be mutual.â
"Yeah, I know you arenât, but still. Nobody deserves to lose someone, especially a parent, and especially someone like you." Before he had time to think over what he had just said, he quickly continued, "I know that feeling, though," Theo spoke honestly, "Thatâs why when you look inside my drawers, youâll find a lot of different journals. Iâve never really had anyone to talk to about anything. And, as my story may not be as tragic as yours, I think everyone deserves to have someone who understands." The male tossed his pen on his desk, then headed closer to the girl, taking a seat on the corner of the bed. He smiled sincerely, "Yeah. Our spot. Mine and yours. I mean, thatâs what it is right?â
"I gotta see it to believe it, buddy." Sienna smiled, obviously having a bit too much fun teasing the boy. "Hey, I don't-- okay, maybe I do, but you cannot lie and say you don't complain." This was getting all too sentimental for the girl to handle. First, they were agreeing on things. Second, they were planning things together. Third, they were having an ordinary conversation, in a room together. What was normal about that? When it came to Sienna, things were never normal, and things usually never stayed the same afterwards. But maybe, just maybe, things changing, espeically between the two of them wouldn't be a bad thing, unlike all the other things that changed in her life. Maybe this was going to, finally, turn out for the better. "Too late. You've just upped my ego by like, a thousand. I'll forever hold this against you now." In that moment, Sienna decided she was going to let it be what it was going to destine to be, and she wasn't going to change anything in the course... Maybe. "Hey, I'm not going to give you false hope. You never know, I might wake up tomorrow and decide you're on the top of my hit list." The blonde shrugged, "But, to lighten things, I don't think that'll be the case."
Sienna stood there, smiling a little at the words he said, trying to connect his words with a meaning other than the obvious one. She instantly thought about asking him to look at these journals, maybe getting a better understanding of the boy, but decided to save it for a rainy day. "You're a good guy, Theo." She spoke, taking a seat next to the boy. "And I'm sorry that you got cursed with this big mess, that others seem to call life. And I'm sorry that you somehow got twisted into my life, and into the mess that came along with it, and if everything works out, I really hope you end up happier than ever, because you deserve that." With that, the girl smiled, hoping she had said enough. "I like that," She responded as he agreed to calling it their spot. "Our spot."
