Already, Belladonna was neither enchanted nor intrigued by Sienna Shafiq like so many seemed to be. In fact, she felt an annoyance directed at the self righteous girl who just seemed to be almost baiting her. Waiting for her to say something incriminating. “You’re right, maybe I should, but it’s just fact. Pool parties are dangerous, even more so indoors with a bunch of inebriated students. Because of the CIRCUMSTANCES of late, I imagine people would have reason to be more r e c k l e s s than usual. Everyone deserves fun but what happened to an outdoor bonfire?? The weather isn’t too horrid and we have magic to get around that, Sienna.”

                “ Spells exist to alleviate dangers surrounding any type of party. Isn’t magic just brilliant in it’s versatility?? ” Her time at Hogwarts was  d w i n d l i n g,  more and more by the day. On one side, Sienna saw the  STARS  waiting for her. The International Wizarding Space Academy had, just a day ago, admitted her to their early scholarship program and it was all she’d ever dreamed of. HOWEVER, behind her, was this. The Burkes’, the Crouchs’, the Greengrasses’, the students who flippantly hissed ‘ d e a t h ’ concerning parties her younger sister, and all her friends were at. She saw Death Eaters without their masks. And every time the steel willed girl came upon the chance to let them know what she saw, she took it with tenacity. “ However, if you’re as uninspired with the pools as you indicate, perhaps you and your friends can head outside together?? Collect some wood, start that outdoor bonfire you so desire. I’m quite sure  n o  o n e  would mind, or even blame you, for missing the festivities. ”

“Did you hear there’s a pool party?? In the prefects bathroom?? I HATE to sound like a gossip & Kelly Killjoy™ but really – that’s just a s k i n g for someone to die.”

         “ I’d choose my words more  c a r e f u l l y  given the circumstances as of late, Belladonna. Students deserve a little fun after everything they’ve endured. Don’t you agree?? ”

It was probably the first time in his life where Kiran Khan truly felt sorry for his actions. Guilt felt fucking weird and really shit. Regretfully, he took the flowers. They looked like a cow had eaten it for dinner and excreted it back out, anyway. “I mean, I think it sounds alright?” Kiran winced at his reply, ruffling the hair at the back of his neck. “Uh…” Fuck, fuck, fuck. Say something. “I… don’t really know what to say, to be honest.” He hadn’t been able to process everything that’d occurred in the past couple of hours. Thusly, his current state of mind was just a painfully white blank page. “Obviously, you know, I’m sorry…” He sighed at how awfully unconvincing that sounded. “Nah, I really am sorry, like…” Exhaling deeply, he fiddled around with his top, feeling like it was slowly constraining him, and took a deep breath. “No one’s ever put it like that to me… Obviously, it’s not anyone’s job to do it, but… it was never my intention to make you feel like that, you get me. I just– Man, this is the worst fucking apology. Everything I say is just gonna come out as horse shit. I’m proper sorry, Sienna. Swear down.” If it hadn’t been blindingly obvious before at how bad Kiran was in these situations, then his next words were about to prove it entirely. “I hope we can still be friends.”

Since the arrangement, her view of the night sky had been skewed. Slithers of her stars was all she saw. But the sudden prospect of a future sans Kiran Khan ( the disloyalty, disrespect and sadness it entailed, ) felt like learning people had walked on the moon: that she, one day, could follow, all over again. Sienna felt planets and solar systems and greatness in her future. Despite the remaining anger, it brought a smile to her lips. “Oh, you are? I must say, I’ll be rather unsurprised if —- despite your being ‘sorry, like...’ —-  the usual gossip: of, oh, I don’t know, you sleeping with a girl I have to see everyday is the next time I hear of you.” Sienna swallowed down a scoff. If she couldn’t be polite, she’d at least not be rude. “I can say, without doubt, that I am wholly uninterested in a friendship with you, Kiran. My mother will be in contact with yours about the finalities before the days out.” She drew a breath, “bye.” Sienna flipped her hair over her shoulder, turned on her heel, and walked away.

Kiran had ran laps, and laps, and laps. Everything had gotten stressful in a matter of mere seconds, and suddenly he was thinking and feeling too much. Thinking and feeling weren’t necessarily bad, but they were bad thoughts and bad feelings, and for Kiran there was nothing worse. He’d rather Amma hadn’t returned his phone to him at all. Sienna was angry, he was able to figure out that much. And so, he sprinted all the way down to Hogsmeade, and all the way back to the castle in rugby shorts and tight black under armour, but the sight of Sienna already waiting on the bridge triggered the panic he’d tried so hard to suppress. “Yooooo, you alright?” He ran over to Sienna, checking his watch and creasing internally at how late he was. “Sorry I’m late, I was just, uh…” He took a moment to catch up his breath, bringing up the bouquet of flowers he’d just bought in Hogsmeade, though the presentation was… questionable from his sprint back. “I got you these… because of the whole Benji ting. Must have been a bit of a clapped situation for you.”

Sienna pushed herself off the bridge’s railing and took the flowers. She forced a smile. “Thanks.” And, out of common courtesy, managed to not raise a brow at the state of them. She couldn’t, however, suppress the sad glint in her eyes. “Bit.. clapped, that’s one way to put it.” Really, the whole arrangement had become a bit clapped for her. It wasn’t always the way she’d felt toward Kiran, though. “I used to have quite the crush on you when we were younger. I thought you were good, sweet.” A small, fleeting smile shaped her lips, and disappeared just as quick. “You just... don’t think enough, Kiran. You mean well, but you’re so astoundingly self absorbed that you don’t stop to consider the way your actions can hurt people. And they do, you know. Hurt people.” Sienna had been aware of Kiran’s ways for awhile, but having Benji throw them in her face so obnoxiously may very well have been the last assault on her patience. “I’m done with it. I could stomach some of it in hopes that you’d —- that you would grow up and that I wouldn’t have to dishonour my duties in not staying committed to this, but I am not okay with being ridiculed by your conquests or girlfriends or whatever you want to call them for the way you mistreat me. This has, has,” pausing, she let out a small sigh, “... broken my heart, in a way. I wanted this so much. And you just made a fool of me.” Sienna tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, looking over the grounds below the bridge. “I’m calling it off, Kiran, and I’m so sorry,” she said, her gaze returning to him, an angry flare behind it. “Sorry about every girl you slept with, about every girl you dated, every girl you kissed or flirted with or any of it behind my back. I’m sorry I let myself believe you were going to change. I’m sorry that I became the naive, unaware ‘pretty bride,’ as Benji so endearingly put it, joke of a girl at your hands.” She hadn’t even known she was this angry, and all of sudden, she couldn’t stop. Sienna, rather assertively, handed the flowers back. “Sienna Khan sounds rather shit, anyways, doesn’t it?”

Kiran: I don't know why Benji said those things but yeah we should probably chat haha sounds a bit intense

Kiran: I'm at the gym now but I can link you after, that cool with you?

Sienna: Convincing.

Sienna: I'll meet you at the wooden bridge in an hour.

Kiran: Really? Safe haha that's random, haven't spoken to Benji in ages!

Kiran: Who were you talking about?

Sienna: Grow up. Just keep her away from me Kiran.

Sienna: Actually, I'm not done.

Sienna: I shouldn't have to put up with girls I don't know talking to me like that, and not Benji, not /any/ girl, should have to feel like she has to 'put out' to keep a man interested. We are more than the pleasure you can get from us. The things she said were disgusting. Women are not objects that you can dispose of when they bore you. I hear the rumours. Every time you do those things, you're disappointing me. I have patience, but I also have too much self respect to allow myself to wait idly by while you continually make a fool of me. I fear you'll never be able to honour the commitment we made.

Sienna: I think we need to talk in person.

Shay slid into the seat next to her sister, only half paying attention to the other person as she tossed notebooks and her wand down onto the table in front of her. “What’s going on? I’ve been working on this super sick play for the team, it even flies, Enna! -and I wanted to show…” Her voice trailed off as she realized this wasn’t a pleasant conversation she was interrupting. “Kiran Khan did WHAT? Sienna, tell me what he did.”

Brows that elevated were followed by a fond twinkle in Sienna’s eyes. “I can’t wait to see it. Show me what, Shay?” Already somewhat unconvinced on an arranged marriage, save for her desire to please her older sister, she certainly didn’t want to have Shay beginning to associate them with negativity. It could be a beautiful thing, ( keyword: could, ) if both parties were dedicated. “It’s nothing, mērā pyāra. Gossip, that’s all.”

“Ugh,” Malachi groaned, quick to take up on the change of subject. “I’m right bent, that’s what I am. I’m stuck again on coding. It’s not like I’m trying to figure out immortality here. Just trying to understand why we live so long. As compared to muggles, I mean.” Letting out a huff, he shook his head. “You sure you’re alright though? You look rather perturbed. It upset you that much? You should talk to Kiran about it, if so.”

“Have faith, you will get there.” Sienna hummed in thought. “Have you gotten any closer with the nucleotide bases?” Malachi had introduced her to the world of genetics, and even though what she knew was sparse —- his work hadn’t yet failed to capture her interest. She let a smile, genuine and gentle in that it was directed at a friend, curve her lips and crinkle her eyes. “It could always be worse, could it not? I’ll be fine.”

“No.” Sienna didn’t need people to know how blindsided and disappointed she felt. Reign it in. “My ears, as well as everything else, are fine,” she said, mild in temperament. “And yourself, Gisèle?”

Benji couldn’t hold in her laugh any longer. The last ‘WHAT’ had done her in and she leaned over to the other girl. “I can’t believe you’re this surprised? You really don’t know what he gets up to in the week?” She shook her head,“He don’t stop for no one, not even some pretty bride. You don’t fuck him, he don’t pay attention to you. You don’t flirt with him, he finds someone who will. –Unless you’re Lance but that’s a whole different story. if you want him to stick around, put out. That’s all I got for you.”

“Benji, please stop.” A waste of her breath, as she went on regardless. Sienna wasn’t able to hide her disgust at the small speech. “Why would anyone with half a brain allow themselves to be treated by a guy in that way? That’s ridiculously demeaning and it only enforces the idea that women are disposable unless they give men what they want.” She shook her head. “Pretty bride? DON’T call me that. I’m more than some air-headed thing for Kiran to decide whether he’s bored or not with. You need to STOP talking. I’m not you and I’m certainly not about to behave the way you do. Just... stay away from me.”

“Now, now, let’s calm down.” Malachi held up his hands in an effort to placate his classmate. “I’m sure there’s a perfectly reasonable explanation as to why I heard that he was stuck in a closet. Why, that could happen to anyone.”

“I appreciate it, Malachi.” Unfortunately, Sienna wasn’t naive to Amma Avery or Kiran’s ways, nor what two drunk teenagers got up to alone together. “Perfectly reasonable,” she echoed, “of course. Anyways. How’re you?”

“Kiran Khan did WHAT with who?” Sienna, with her previously pleasant smile wiped from her lips, rose a hand to indicate that she didn’t require an answer. “Just... don’t tell me. I’ve already heard enough.”
