"Hey Thor!" Sif called happily, pleased her longtime friend had arrived.

"Sif!" Thor exclaimed when he caught sight of his friend coming toward him, reaching out with open arms and pulling her into a firm hug. He hadn’t seen her for a while and he had missed her. After a quick squeeze Thor released her and looked at her grinning. "How have you been?"

She smiled at his tight grip, noticing his increase in strength. “I’ve been great,” Sif looked around. “It’s been really nice here so far. I’m glad you convinced me to come in the first place.” She punched his arm cheerfully. “How have you been?”

"I have been well." Thor replied. "I’m glad to be back. At the end of each summer, it always feels like an eternity passes before we come back to camp. Speaking of which," he chuckled. "What have I missed?"

As Thor spoke he began to walk toward a group of picnic tables where he could sit with his friend. They had not spoken for a while and he was eager to catch up.

Sif sat on top of a picnic table and threw her dark hair back over her shoulder. “Well,” She said, biting her lip thoughtfully. “Nothing too exciting. Steve and Bucky are finally an official couple and they’re really cute. Emma’s back and is frostier than ever. Jane is here too,” Sif said, not knowing if Thor still had a soft-spot for her. “Otherwise you really haven’t missed too much.”

"Emma is back?" Thor remembered her well, she was hard to forget. He wasn’t usually one to dislike others - and he didn’t really dislike her - but she did make it hard to get along with her. "I’m surprised. Every year I expect her to quit with how much she complains about being here. But I am glad to hear about Jane’s return. I’m looking forward to seeing her again." He smiled fondly.

"I’m surprised she comes back too," Sif smiled. "Jane seemed like she was excited to see you again. And I’m sure you’ll be happy to see her." She bumped his shoulder playfully. "Did you guys talk at all during the year?" Sif had noticed the way they looked at each other last year, and was curious to see if they would end up as an official pair like Steve and Bucky.

"Not very much." Thor replied regretfully. "We live far from each other." He shrugged. A thoughtful look Crosse his face for a moment, beer he shook it away with a teasing glance at Sif.

"I know what you’re getting at Sif. But what about you? See anyone you are interested in?"

"I don't know what you mean," Sif blinked innocently before laughing. "I haven't seen anyone, no. Everyone keeps asking me that too." She shrugged. "I'm fine with being single this summer though. But you and Jane," She said slyly. "Are you guys going to be the next cute couple of camp?"

Sif smiled at his obvious change in mood. “That’s so cute,” She said honestly, happy for her two pals. “I’m glad you guys are doing that. A lot of people can’t make it work with college but I know you two can. You guys are pretty much the cutest couple alive. It’d be stupid to separate you.” She giggled at his ongoing blush. “I’m sure you two will be just fine.”

"Aww," Steve said, blushing even deeper. "It’s not for everyone I don’t think, but- Bucky and I…well, you might know this already, but I really like him, Sif. And if er were going to be a thing, then this was going to happen, too. It’s almost…well, it was kind of inevitable, you know?”

Steve sighed, still blushing. “Sorry, I feel like I’m rambling.” He chuckled.

"No don't worry!" She said encouragingly. "I like hearing about you guys. It's so cute to see how gushy you two get." Sif poked his arm. "You two are meant to be. It's like one of those corny romance movies. No matter what happens you guys will always find a way to be together. And that's something really special."

[Through Text] Peter: "Hey, Sif. Do you want to hear, actually, read a joke?"

Sif: “Hey Peter! I’d love to read a joke, you usually tell the good ones. Or the really bad ones that are so bad they end up funny.”

Peter: “It’s going good! I think I’m on the right track at least. How are your duties?”

Sif: “That’s good, I’m sure you’ll be a great counselor. My duties aren’t all that exciting, just taking care of the kids you know?”

Peter: “Huh. It suits you though. Just don’t shoot an arrow at them when they get annoying.”

Sf: "I try not to, that's why I don't ever do any archery with them around."

Peter: “I actually have no idea. But anyways, how are you, Sif?

Sif: “Oh yeeeah, aren’t you in training for that? How’s that going?”

Peter: “It’s going good! I think I’m on the right track at least. How are your duties?”

"There are tons of scholarships you can get," Sif returned the smile. "But yes, focus on that later. You’re at camp, Steve. You gotta just live in the moment." She looked up at the sky. "I’ve been good," Sif glanced back at him. "How have you been? Besides dealing with the college stress of course. How have you and Bucky been doing?"

Steve smiled at her. “You’re right,” then blushed slightly. Seriously, could he ever not blush when Bucky’s name was mentioned? “We’re good. Great actually,” Steve let out a slightly breathless chuckle. “I want to stay close to him, y’know? That’s why I’m trying to find schools close by. I know it’s silly but…” his blush deepened. “We just got our act together-why be apart?”

Sif: “Oh gosh… Um, you get sent to jail?”

Peter: “Nope. He got a sifere headshot!”

Sif: "I'm laughing but I'll punch you the next time I see you, oh my god. How do you even come up with these?"

  Sif gathered up the ripped pillows and set them on the bed before glancing over at Jane. “Do you want me to go get a broom for this glass or just use one of the pillowcases?” She asked, looking around the room thoughtfully as she tried to come up with a plan of attack for cleaning.

"Broom would be best, I think," Jane said, frowning. "If an animal got in, you don’t think it could still be in here, right?" She glanced around. There were a few places an small animal could hide, and while she enjoyed nature, she didn’t enjoy the thought of having to deal with a wild creature.

"It might still be in here," Sif stepped cautiously over the glass to check under the bed. "It's not under here but I'll check the rest of the room for you." She smiled reassuringly. "If it's still in here we'll get it out. Maybe one of the guys can make sure the door locks and there aren't any gaps so it can't get back in."

Sif nodded understandingly. “I know what that’s like,” She bit her lip thoughtfully. “It’s hard thinking about the future. College is always freaky. But you can’t work yourself up too much about it, right? You can’t worry about something in the future. You’re a great artist, the best I know, but you can’t be perfect every day. And art school, the only thing you can do is break it down and research maybe one or two a week to start to get a feel for what the schools are like.” Sif gave him an encouraging smile. “And you know I’m always here for you to help you out.”

Steve smiled at Sif. “Thanks, Sif. Really, it…it means a lot. I started making a list of schools I might apply to. Some of them give scholarships, which I’m definitely gonna need…” he stopped himself, refocusing. Sif was right. “But there’s time for that later, right?” he chuckled. “How have you been, Sif?”

"It is a good place to think," She said with a smile. "That’s why I like it so much. There’s inspiration everywhere." Sif looked closely at the sketch, admiring the messy but detailed pencil marks. "How is your portfolio coming?" Sif asked curiously, looking back up at her friend. "Is it almost done?"

Steve smirked a little humorously. “Not even close. I guess I’m just not getting it today. And I know I could normally, it’s just…I’ve been kind of stressed out trying to apply for art school. I don’t even know where I want to go, as long as it’s in the city, but I need a portfolio wherever I end up, and well…” Steve sighed, catching himself and taking a moment. “It’s just a lot to decide, y’now?”

Sif stepped carefully over a branch, breaking more twigs on the ground. “Hey pal,” She poked Steve’s arm as she sat down beside him. “I could ask you the same question. You don’t normally hang out in the woods, and I would know since I’m usually out here.” She grinned. “I just came to get away for a little bit. Are you working on a drawing?” Sif knew how much Steve liked art and drawing, and that he always had a sketchbook and pencil nearby. She didn’t know how serious he was about art though, and noted the thoughtful yet frustrated look on his face.

"I guess you’re right," Steve mused. "I don’t come out here a lot. I always mean to get out in the woods but end up tied up at the craft shack or something. I like it out here, though. It’s a good place to think. And draw, too. That’s kind of hard with so many people around." He shifted to show her his sketchbook. Right now, there was just a very rough sketch, but it would eventually become a drawing of the horizon. "I love the views out here. If this one comes out right, I might add it to my portfolio."

"Oh yeah, I’m sure Steve will be sooooo threatening,” Sif rolled her eyes with a smirk. She knew Steve was incapable of being mean to anyone without reason. 

"You sound like you could write a romance novel or something," She joked, not answering his question directly. "The adventures of Bucky and Steve, the tragic tale of never-ending lust that turned into the cutest romance of the 21st century." Sif looked away, knowing Bucky would probably bring it up again. 

The problem was she really just didn’t think about herself in the romance department very often. Sif was used to helping out her friends with advice and rough-housing with the boys. Sure boys were hot, everyone was hot to her, but Sif had always had an easier time being friends with them than anything else.

Again Bucky rolled his eyes and shoved at Sif. “Oh shut up, you know I’m terrible with writing. I couldn’t even write Steve a love poem if I tried.” He sat back and looked up with a sigh. Sure, now that he had Steve he was set in the love department, but was that really all that was important?

"Hey Sif… what do you think is the most important thing in life?" Sif was pretty smart and very mature for her age, Bucky thought, so he figured that he would ask her for her two cents in regards to what she thought was needed in life.

Sif bit her lip, deep in thought. "That's a really good question," She admitted with a smile. "I think the most important thing has to do with happiness. I mean, it sounds corny but it's true. Maybe someone doesn't have a good job or a significant other but they may have their family and their family gives them happiness. Sure their life may suck but they have something that gives them joy. That's the most important thing in life, to have something that makes you happy. Even if it's something like music or going shopping, everyone needs something happy." Sif ran a hand through her dark hair, wondering if her answer was normal or sounded odd. "If they don't, then life is kind of pointless."

"Sorry, I don't know if that's the answer you were expecting," Sif laughed. "Probably way more deep than you wanted. But that's what I think anyway." She shrugged. "Why do you ask?"
