the heart of everyone’s happiness within the casino is a sole person who works tirelessly to ensure promises and treasures that seem to be out of reach for them. behind what appears to be the image of perfection is a lack of such for one’s own self.
damn, he got called out, huh.
SIGMA'S BIRTHDAY - April 24
As one might expect of everyone's angel, the manager's birthday is a big deal at the aerial casino. Try as Sigma might to downplay it, he IS well liked by the staff for his care, even though working to repay their debts to him. Thus, the casino tends to go all out for celebrations. ( It doubles as another means of luring more guests into the casino with deals and festivities, and this positive association naturally makes someone more inclined to visit again. ) Discounts, decorations, fesitivities ; the casino always makes it a BIRTHDAY TO REMEMBER. There's a lot more greek food and influence for that day as well do to sigma's false history.
Sigma is touched by it of course. Considering the hell of his beginning, this is everything he never imagines he could dream of. BUT SIGMA DOESN'T ACTUALLY CARE FOR THE DRAMATIC FLAIRS. It's rather hilarious given how much he is inclined to grand and dramatic gestures for those he cares about (if he knows they will like them), but he himself isn't. he doesn't mind them !! He would love it if someone DID do a grand gesture, but it isn't a big deal to him. He appreciates THE THOUGHT more than anything else. The sentiment that anyone wants to celebrate personally with him. Even if its as simple as just eating a piece of cake together in the evening with some music, or painting together, or taking a stroll. He cares more for genuine company than gifts. It's little gestures that can say everything.
While obviously dependent upon rp relationships, I like to think Fyodor and Nikolai pay him a visit, or he comes to them after the casino festivities. They don't have to do much, but they're the two most important people to him. Of course their presence matters ; or even just a phone call if they can't meet up for some reason. ( He does understand things come up. ) He likes to sit with them, chat, just enjoy it again with some treats and maybe card games or something else. Mundane but priceless. If he's on his own, he tends to retreat to his office as the night ends to have a piece of cake and wine while reading more mythology stories because he LOVES mythology and learning the mythology of different cultures, and it's a nice way to end the night, even if the stories are often tragic.
since the bday is coming up, maybe i should talk about how Sigma likes to celebrate

"oh, sorry... i didn't mean to trespass." hands are raised slightly in mock surrender. it wasn't her intention to end up where people weren't allowed. once again luck didn't seem to be on her side.
" It's quite alright. " Despite the firmness of his initial comment, the casino manager's voice takes a softer tone upon the offered reassurance to the other. His firmness had only been to make sure she did not assume he was speaking to someone else rather than her. But with her attention, there is no need for that same level.
Sigma offers a friendly smile as if to soothe over any worries that may have arisen from his words. " It's just unsafe over here with all of the construction. " He elaborates - half truth and half lie. There is construction - but it's moreso of who lurks further in that is the real danger than anything the construction might cause. " Naturally, we don't want anyone getting hurt or worse if something were to happen. " He tilts his head slightly, careful to keep his movements open and friendly. " Is there somewhere you were looking for ? "

CHOSEN GAME: THINGS MY FRIENDS MUSES HAVE SAID MEME
Such words are full of faith and encouragement, like the guiding hands that encourage an injured bird to take to the skies again once it had healed. And who among them has not been the injured bird? Who had not suffered under life's cruel blows at some point in their lives, smacked down from the carefree skies into thorny bushes of reality and pain? Ignorance is bliss, but it is both joy and sorrow that paint the colors of the world and offer depth and saturation that experiencing only one or another could not provide.
" You could tell I was nervous? " Sigma asks with a tepid smile that is more action than it is emotional. He hasn't explicitly said what was to come. Merely that there were IMPORTANT GUESTS that were going to be paying a visit to the aerial casino. ( He does not speak of the fact that they are enemies ; that he is well aware of the fact that his life is on a precarious balance. Oddly, he suspects he doesn't NEED to say it. ) The thought of the Hunting Dogs is enough to make his stomach tighten and a cold finger of anxiety to drag along his spine while his nerves can't decide if he's HOT OR COLD.
What little in the world he has hangs precariously at the edge of the abyss.
He exhales slowly, offering a tiny laugh. " Ah, somehow it doesn't surprise me that you could tell. " It's not insulting or defense; on the contrary - it is quite relaxed and calm. " I've faced so many important people before - " those who abused him, those who threatened death, those who offered salvation " - but i can't help but be nervous sometimes still. No matter how many times i do it. " Government agents, underground bosses, so many people and threats that no longer made his heart tremble - but this still did.
Silver eyes turn away from the gaze outside the wall of glass and the view it displays to look towards Ryoji with a smile, tremble as it may. To be scared or nervous was fine, it was simply that one HAD TO PERSEVERE THROUGH IT. " Thank you for your confidence. I can only hope my faith gains in strength and stays as strong as you suggest. "
