Roberts gets captured and is offered a deal to become a part of the phoenix program. He's hired as Z-team's dispatcher (totally not as a way to torture him) and given limited freedom.

I’ve seen people saying it would’ve been better if Visi had hugged Robert instead of kissing him, but it’s worth remembering that even a hug can be interpreted as sexual assault depending on the situation. In the same game, Phenomeman kisses Robert, Robert kisses Blazer, Malevola literally touches your penis, and Flambe spends the whole time insulting you, calling you a bitch and a piece of shit. Are those scenes also “assault” and “immaturity,” or did everyone just decide to ignore that these characters are villains in recovery who have always acted in questionable ways?

If the scene bothered you, that’s fine. But it doesn’t make sense to expect something politically correct from a story that was built from the start around controversial characters, and Robert himself understands the kind of people he’s dealing with. This whole outrage toward Visi only gained traction because of shipping, and it became the perfect excuse for people who already disliked her.

There’s also the option to avoid the kiss. If you cut her off, then choose “you didn’t give me a choice” at the start of the locker room scene, and then select “I forgive you,” Visi won’t kiss Robert.

It’s valid to think Visi’s action was aggressive, but the same applies to the behavior of the other characters mentioned. Fiction allows you to explore broken, impulsive, and morally dubious people. In Visi’s case, the kiss is just her messy way of trying to connect with someone. Deep down, she means well, even if she expresses it in a problematic way. She was written to be that kind of character.

All of this I 100% agree with.

The whole game shows destructive behavior in people. And I just can’t stand the hate train on Visi, but then they circle back around and love another character who did the same action. Call each character out, don’t single one out.

She means well, she just doesn’t usually go about things in the best way. But she means well. That much is shown. It’s all she knows, she’s literally a fucking villian and people are expecting her to act hero.

People are just hopping on a hate dick, riding it and stretching it out way more than needed. Love how they excused the kiss Robert landed on BB, everyone looked away.

Also, these people acting like they have a high horse and some characters are better (when they’re not), is also interesting

Tbf i think you’d be hard pressed to find people who like the manic pixie dream girl achetype that Invisigal seems to embody in her romance with Robert. In general, the romance in dispatch is to the detriment to its characters— putting invisigal next to blonde blazer, of course invisgal would look more immature to the city’s darling. Maybe if this was made during the actual telltale games era, you wouldn’t have as many ppl complaining about her

Yeah, I see people’s points. It’s a hard pass between the two, they’re very contrasting characters.

A villian (who you’d assume would act immature tbh), and a hero.

I just mean people are so pissed at her to the point of obsessive hate, but they ignore the actions from other characters (same game and/or different game)

My god come ON. She’s 27, not 43. She’s still in her twenties. I work with people who’re 32 and act this way, people don’t just like “grow up” and act like a grandma.

Fuck yall she has a fun personality and adds plot to the story. Y’all’s characters also make mistakes and act immature in your own ways, but here you all are ignoring that too.

Also before you judge her, look in the mirror. Most people judging her are like 25 and still on tumblr like hello maybe let’s look in the mirror first and read what our posts on our blogs say too

Yall we got a “complex” character—Visi/courtney—(really she isn’t, people just lack literacy). And yall are out here completely misconstruing her character. Like full 360.

I swear most in this fandom are dumb as rocks… I’ve been arguing with people because they’re so slow… but you can’t fight stupid ig

HERES THE POINTS

- Invisagirl/Visi/Courtney is a VILLIAN, more so ex-villian. So why are you shocked she’s acting as such. If you want a hero, choose BB as she’s a born steady hero. If you expect a hero to have “morals” and “act mature” that’s… okay

- Visi isn’t a traitor. In no point does she “betray you” necessarily. When she planted the bomb on Mecha, they weren’t even friends. She TURNED herself in and had second thoughts. She was just trying to survive. And being with Shroud, it’s being a spy. She’s only “evil” if you push her away from heroism

- The whole point of the Phoenix program is that it gives a hand to try and help villains become good. That’s what Visi is TRYING to do. People not trusting her are honestly people who just assume and stuck to old labels, stagnant people.

- and the “evil” ending, isn’t her being evil. She supposedly goes to the side you KICK her to by not forgiving her or defending her. What is she supposed to do? Force her way back in? She has good intentions. She doesn’t “turn hero” because she isn’t good, she turns hero because she’s welcomed. Forgiven. You see her good intentions, she explains that to you.

People just can’t handle complex things and it shows, no wonder literacy is down
