Knowing Paul's aversion to the colour red, how would/does he feel about Tord's hoodie?

I imagine he felt very conflicted about it, particularly when Tord first picked it out and started wearing it. Because he wants to be able to move on, and he wants both of them to separate themselves as far away from the army as they can, and in some way avoiding the color altogether feels like a good way for him to accomplish that.

But, at the same time, he wants Tord to be able to grow up as a normal kid and not carry all the baggage that Paul himself is still dealing with, and he knows that banning a color is not the best way to go about that. So, he let Tord keep it, and by now he’s gotten more or less used to it. His discomfort only gets worse when he’s around Patryk because his last memories of Patryk were in the context of the Red Army, so he is a more direct connection to Paul’s past, as opposed to Tord, who he’s had seven years with since then.
