oh god this is too much of a mood
This is not my beautiful house This is not my beautiful wife
When I was younger, I wish someone had told me straight-up that not all adults experience “a calling”. That many of them never find particular purpose in a career. That sometimes, their job is just what pays the bills and they have to seek satisfaction and fulfillment elsewhere.
Because as an adult, this pervasive notion that there exists a perfect path for everyone, that people should love what they do, and that work is meant to function as a vehicle for fulfilling a person’s grand life destiny is not only inaccurate for many of us, it can be toxic.
The ideal is so ingrained that I have to remind myself constantly I’m not a failure because I don’t adore my job, and because I’m not rocking the world with my work. That is okay.
Sometimes, work is just work. There isn’t always a perfect career path, magically waiting to be discovered. There might not be this THING you were born to do. Sometimes, you discover that what you really want to be when you grow up is “paid”.
listen the new screenshot with herc, zeus and hades looks like it could be a meme like
look at it
when rappers brag about being rich and breaking the law but then whine when people illegally download their music
when ur iphone charger breaks but ur sibling has one that works
this is like a group chat
Here’s another “self-made” billionaire that nobody is talking about
Pat McGrath became a billionaire when Kylie Cosmetics was worth $800 million. Yet the media was still obsessed with “Kylie is almost a self-made billionaire!” rather than talking about this woman who already was an actual self-made billionaire.
Never forget: twice as good for half the credit.
Prepare for Trouble
Actually, could we make that double?
If my man says he’s thirsty then I’m driving to his house with this, even if it’s 2am 😌💅🏽 I spoil him so much
“When I started my musical career, I was a maid,” she told the audience. “I used to clean houses. My parents, my mother was a proud janitor. My stepfather, who raised me like his very own, worked at the post office and my father was a trash man — they all wore uniforms. And that’s why I stand here today in my black and white and I wear my uniform to honor them.”
