I know I'm rarely active here, but my recent yanking of the wisdom from my face has inspired a need for new rp partners and threads. Like this post for a random starter or message me directly or in the replies to plot. Let's see what we can create people.

Ramiel chuckled softly, “Ah, man…whenever I get the chance, these guys are going to regret it…” He grumbled, shaking his head. “Thinking they could just take me like this…Sorry you had to be dragged into something like this.” Ramiel sighed, directing the words towards Damian.
“If we both make it out of this, I’ll make sure you’re compensated very well..” He said.
"Don't concern yourself with that." Damian said, somewhat pushing aside Ramiel's comments as odd, but mostly unimportant in the face of everything going on. "For now, let's just rest as best we can and see what happens."
It was a long time before someone came for them, two masked guards flinging open the doors to whatever makeshift prison they were in and stalking towards them.
"Oh fuck, you're actually alive." Damian breathed, rattling his chains to try to get the attention of the smaller man chained across from him. "Sir, wake up. I need you to tell me what hurts and how badly."

Ramiel’s head ached, and beyond that his entire body ached. Faintly he could hear a voice calling to him, along with the sound of something rattling, and he furrowed his brows, opening his eyes slowly.
“You’re making so much noise...” He grumbled, shaking his head slightly.
“It feels like I got hit by a truck. Definitely some ribs bruised or broken. Lots of bruises everywhere. Nothing else...seems broken, though, thankfully..” Ramiel nodded, blinking slowly as his eyes adjusted, looking at the other man.
Damian nodded, taking stock of himself now that he knew his boss wasn't about to drop dead. He could feel now his swollen knee, the blood making his forehead stiff from a head wound somewhere, the pain in his own ribs. He had fought hard but apparently the head shot had come soon enough to keep him from serious harm.
"I'll get you out of here. But for now, stay quiet and watch for any opportunities that come up." He said. He didn't expect to come alive out of this but he'd be damned if his client died here.

“That didn’t…answer my question.” She muttered, her head tilting forward as she examined the ropes over her body. “Were these even entirely necessary..?” Miu sighed.

Emilia nodded, “R-Right, the door.” She said quietly, moving her gaze towards the the doorway he had pointed out.
It took her a few brief moments of hesitation, but she soon gathered enough courage to bolt out from under the table and made a scramble towards the door, dodging a few falling books as she peered over her shoulder to make sure Zed was following.
Emilia giggled a little at the socks, “These are welcome.” She said, shifting her weight between her feet. “Well, I’ll shower, and then I’ll be out to take care of you.” Emilia laughed, “Try not to get into too much trouble, okay?” She hummed, rocking back on her heels.
He stood slowly, trying to mask his sudden grab for the wall so he didn’t fall over as a casual lean.
“I’m just going to make coffee and then lay on the couch and watch some cartoons. Nothing crazy.” He said, though he’d much rather just forget the coffee and dive straight into his bed where it was dark and cool and safe. His headache was launching up into the stratosphere. No use worrying her though.
“You sure you should be drinking coffee?” Emilia wondered, tilting her head, “I think it could be better for you to at least get in bed..” She said, “I’m not sure if it’s really the same, but when I used to get migraines, I’d always prefer sitting in a dark room, with no loud noises..” She chuckled.
So she’d noticed. She was more observant than he’d given her credit for. He huffed out a laugh, a breathy and self-deprecating sound.
“Coffee is part of the reason I have a migraine. I’m addicted to caffeine. But to be honest, I’d love to be in bed right now, coffee or no coffee.” He managed to make it to his bed, sitting heavily on the end of it. He hadn’t been able to resist splurging (relatively) on this frame and mattress and his Egyptian cotton sheets, though the blankets were all handmade or secondhand, just like he liked them.

I’m terrible around people..” Emilia chuckled slightly, placing her bag down by the same chair and shuffling after him. “Ah, do you have any spare clothes I could borrow when I do shower? Everything was so sudden so I don’t have any clothes of my own.” She said softly.
Zed nodded, pushing the little pot under the coffee spout and setting the little machine to humming.
“Come on, I’ll get some of my sister’s things out from the last time she was here. Her clothes will probably be way big, but it’s either hers or mine so.” He shrugged, as though it was an obvious choice not to use his. “Nightgown or pjs? I don’t see the point in staying dressed if we’re just going to stay in.” He definitely didn’t want to go anywhere with this headache.
“Uh…a nightgown will be fine.” Emilia nodded, fiddling with the sleeves of her shirt. “I don’t usually wear pants when I’m just around the house, so a nightgown will work just fine for me.” She laughed.
He nodded reaching into his closet where his sister kept her spare clothes for when she crashed at his place. Alphus was a summer windstorm through his place and when she didn’t come for a while, he missed his twin like a lung.
“Here. This is one of her short ones. Should fit you pretty well. She’s tall, but about your size.” He said, handing her a soft blue cotton nightshirt that only went to Alphus’ mid thigh. It said “Someday we’ll find it, the rainbow connection” with a rainbow on the front. He’d never said his sister didn’t have a childish side. He also handed her a clean pair of bright green fuzzy socks, Kermit the Frog on his mind he supposed.

“Woah…Really nice place..” She muttered, “It looks like one of those places you’d see in those home design magazines..” Emilia said as they headed in.
“Really fancy..” She laughed softly.
Zed tried to chuckle off the sudden awkwardness he felt.
“It’s not much really. Trust me when I say I could have gone much bigger but they just didn’t feel like…” He swallowed, getting out of the taxi carefully and offering his hand to her to help her out. “Like they could become a home.” He finished quietly. Then he shook himself a little, guiding her inside. His keys were still missing, but the doorman knew him and buzzed him up, promising a new key by day’s end. Zed pulled the spare key from the top of the doorframe and let them in, into a space that was so much different from the outside.
Inside was spacious, yes, but all the furniture was secondhand, worn and soft, covered with throw pillows and fuzzy blankets. The kitchen was populated by mismatched mugs and chipped plates, though the designs were all unique and beautiful. He pointed to the right of the open concept living room/kitchen.
“I have a second bedroom. You’re welcome to it.”
Emilia took a moment to respond, as she was simply admiring the homey design of his space, then realized he was speaking to her and turned towards him quickly.
“R-Right! Thank you, Zed.” Emilia nodded, her shyness coming back full force now that his mother was no longer around.
Zed couldn’t help but laugh.
“Relax, it’s just us now. You can stop being so anxious now. Especially since you don’t have to pretend anymore.” He said, dropping the key on a chair just inside the door and kicking off his shoes. “Make yourself at home. You have your own bathroom too so shower or do whatever if you like. I’m making coffee.” He said moving into the bathroom where a mint green coffeemaker with a single crack on one corner stood. The motions of making coffee were soothing to him, even if he was going to completely “ruin” it with loads of milk and sugar.

“I can look after him.” Emilia said, “It’s what a girlfriend’s for, right?” She laughed sweetly. “You needn’t worry too much, Rozlynn, your son will be just fine under my very watchful eyes.” She hummed, her smile a little wider than usual.
Zed gave her a sidelong look of shock but covered it quickly with a soft laugh.
“So long as you’re not putting that very important homework on hold for me, I’ll submit myself to your tender care.” He teased. It was close to midterms. It would make sense that she’d have homework… if there was a school left. His chest tightened. School had become a second home to him. He hoped it wasn’t destroyed. He shook his head slightly, tossing away those thoughts for now.
Emilia turned her gaze to him, “Zed, sweetheart, please. I can handle you and homework at the same time. I’m used to having a lot on my plate, this is easy.” She laughed, squeezing his hand carefully.
He squeezed her hand back, feeling safe and at home with two of the most loving women in his life on either side of him.
They wheeled him to the entrance and Rozlynn ordered them a taxi home. She kissed her son and he hugged her back shamelessly. Then they waved goodbye and Zed gave the driver his address. It was, to him at least, a modest top floor apartment with roof garden access. Not that he had any kind of a green thumb, but it was nice to have. The building wasn’t that impressive either, he thought. Still, he hoped it wasn’t rubbing his wealth, independent of his father now, in her face to bring her here.
