     margo made a face that was equal parts grimace as it was a smile, reaching up to rub the back of her neck at the statement made. not that margo was ashamed of her dancing, she’d been dancing since she had been a kid, but the singing definitely left a lot to be desired.

“ thanks.  it’s  a  work  in  progress,  you  know,  thought  i’d  throw  the  chicken  dance  in  there  somewhere  but  i  don’t  think  riverdale’s  ready  for  that.  ”  margo informed, hoping that the casualness of her counter would at least mask how utterly embarrassed she was. she cleared her throat again, busying herself with scooping up a glass, a bottle of chilled water and one of pop’s menu’s before she shuffled over to his booth.

     “  here  you  go.  um,  do  you  want  to  hear  the  specials?  or  i  can  come  back  in  five  when  you’ve  had  some  time  to  look  over  the  menu?  i’d  rec  the  spicy  chai  latte,  it’ll  warm  you  right  up  and  bonus :  won’t  keep  you  up  for  eight  hours  straight.  trust  me,  it’s  margo  tested.  ”

❝ I don’t think the WORLD is ready for that. ❞ he comments, a hint of a smile tugging at the corner of his lips. he doesn’t blame her for filling the long stretch of boredom that would probably set in the later it got. his hands rest at the edge of the formica countertop where the raven-haired girl placed the water and menu, the CROOKED smile fading ever so slightly.

❝ actually--- i know what i want. ❞ he doesn’t want to be rude ( she doesn’t seem to know -- or maybe she doesn’t CARE -- he’s ‘ on the wrong side of the tracks ’ ) and besides, he can feel the tiredness begin to seep into his BONES and he’s not sure how much later he wants to be up. ❝ can i just get a burger and. . . ❞ he peers up at her briefly, as if trying to remember what else he wants. ❝ i’ll try your suggestion. . .the spicy chai ? ❞

blue eyes rise INSTANTLY at the older serpent’s voice. his gaze follows fp’s briefly, scanning the room, before landing back on the taller man. he KNOWS why he’s come and his stomach does a small flip. it hadn’t been HARD hiding the varsity jacket, but the young serpent had been nervous about being caught. EVERYONE was talking about the ‘ golden boy ’ of riverdale and it felt like everyone was out looking for a clue to the mystery. ❝ yeah. . .i-i did. i buried it right where you told me.
