”Y’got somethin’ y’wanna tell me?”
He's not stupid. He knows that his twin has more than enough reason to be suspicious. Maybe even upset. And yet when he asks, Daniel only shakes his head slightly. As far as he was concerned? There wasn't a single thing to talk about.
[ hush ]
He had to be sneaky around the Dixon’s silent twin and whenever he had time to steal kisses and sometimes even more, he didn’t take it lightly. Luckily, Daryl went on an early morning run that day and Rick was already awake. He knew his time to strike was nearing but he had to know that Daryl was truly leaving for at least an hour. If Daryl knew Rick had been sneaking around behind his back—especially with his brother, there would be hell to pay.
But he was careful, and quickly went to go find the pure one. He was where Rick had suspected; checking the snares. Quietly, he creeped up behind him and wrapped his arms around his waist. His nose brushed up against his ear while his lips met with the Dixons skin on his soft neck.
With his twin off on a run, Daniel was determined to have most of his own chores over and done with before the other Dixon returned. His hands moved quickly, fueled by slight frustration. He had wanted to go with. To actually spend some time alone with his twin -- but Daryl was in some kind of mood. Daniel wasn't one to hold a grudge; already his crankiness was ebbing away and being replaced by a general worry.
Arms wrap around him and he knows the hold without looking -- without even worrying. His hands drop away from the rope he was fiddling with so he could thumb over wrists with a small smile. The kiss to his neck causes a slight squirm before he turns around and smiles up, happy to be joined by Grimes himself. Leaning up, he noses against a cheek.
[ SWEATS NERVOUSLY ]
"Ain't ye jus' t'e sweetest thing."
The compliment is unexpected and Daniel suddenly blinks with surprise, colour rushing to his cheeks as he sets the coffees down for Norman and his guest. A tiny smile and awkward bow is offered before he suddenly scoots himself right out, a nervous glance offered to Norman over his shoulder.
Irishmen.
Arms move to wrap around Daniel in a second, no thought needed whatsoever to get the hunter's limbs to move. He lets out a breath into that neck as he clings. "I thought I lost ya, Dani."
The hug is instantly returned, eyes watering as he clings to his twin -- emotions flooring him so hard that he tugs Daryl down onto the ground with him. Even with the tears he's smiling -- almost laughing silently at the end of each heaved breath. He was okay. Somehow, though everything Daryl was okay. Alive and well. Daniel latches on and refuses to actually let go -- he can't. Not and risk his twin leaving his sights again.
"Well aint ye jus' t'e cutest toy i e'er did see."
Something immediately doesn't sit right. Toy? No. That was simply something he wasn't. Daniel's head shakes and he is wary, stepping away and looking over the Irishman suspiciously.
Something was very wrong with this one.
Daniel hesitates but moves to hug Connor around the neck.
For a few second Connor doesn’t breath, finally when he does exhale he brings his arms up to wrap around Daniel. Relaxing into the embrace he presses a hand gingerly against the small of the man’s back to bring him just a little bit closer. “W’at s’ t’s all abou’?”
Daniel can feel the slight hesitation but it passes and he finds himself smiling lightly at the way Connor seems to give in and pull him closer. The embrace is held and he sighs out happily before whispering carefully against an ear. Always quiet -- if not totally silent. "Y'needed it."

Silver eyes softened the moment that smile came into view— sending a spark of warmth through a vessel that did not belong to him. Everett didn’t need to sleep but resting this form always did him some good. Arms came around the mute in return before he found himself being led away, shrugging off his heavy jacket while he moved and releasing Daniel’s hand only long enough to let it hit the floor.
The mattress dips under the spirit’s knees as he follows the other onto it, pale hues never once leaving the silent being in mere intrigue and admiration. He settles quietly, glad more than anything to be home at least for a small while.
With Everette home, the time for waiting was over. They could be near each other for a while until the other had to leave again. He understood that the spirit had his duties -- a sort of job, but that didn't keep him from missing his savior dearly while he was away tending to such things.
With the two of them settled, Daniel reaches and hikes the comforter up so it rests on his shoulder. He lays his head down on the furie's chest, eyes hooding as he wrapped an arm around its familiar form. Everette made him happy -- happier than anything, and he nuzzles into him a bit in order to convey this. It was good that he was home, that they could be together. They belonged together, that was something that Daniel was absolutely sure of.

The night dragged on without any pause for breath, but eventually the time came for Everett to return home. Home being a small apartment hidden among the rooftops of New York. The destination would change; but always small, easily camouflaged. For Daniel’s sake if not Everett’s.
He manifests from the wide, angular shadows pooling in shapes along the floor and walls, crimson stained hands clutching at either arm as pale eyes scan the lounge.
"— Daniel?" He breathes, turning on the spot to pace into the bedroom as the name repeatedly falls from the furie’s lips.
Sleeping was something that the quiet being enjoyed fully; dreams were always so fascinating and lovely to have. Stuffed away in the bedroom of the apartment that the furie had made for them, Daniel felt nothing other than safe. Happy. It wasn't a lot but it didn't need to be -- not compared to what his life was like before.
At the sound of Everette's voice his head lifts, sleep being blinked away before his legs swing over the side of the bed. He's still groggy, but that doesn't stop him from going to the source of the voice. The moment he finds the other he smiles -- small and tired. A welcoming home.
And then he allows himself to move closer, to thunk his forehead against a shoulder. Arms come up to gently hug the creature, and then he reaches for one of those stained hands, tugs lightly to lead him back to the bed. Back to where he wanted to be. Back to where things were soft and warm and safe.
Body pressed down against the other while his hands pinned the others wrist down on the wall. Lips colliding roughly against the pure ones soft pink lips. He pulls away to catch his breath, blues staring up at the other. A finger is placed against his mouth, "Shh, don't say anything." If Daryl found out Rick had been stealing smooches from his twin, there would be hell to pay.
Only a small noise of protest seems to flutter out of the usually quiet man as he's pinned against the wall -- brows knit with confusion. The lips against his own causes his entire body to freeze up, the kiss sudden and almost harsh in nature. Daniel's eyes are bright when they part and he wants to ask, wants some kind of an explanation from Rick but he's silenced suddenly.
This comes as more of a surprise and confusing thing than the kiss itself. Why couldn't he ask? The thought of his twin's reaction to such a thing hadn't crossed his mind. Not yet. A quick nod is offered, however; Daniel is always obedient. Always willing to listen to and trust Rick, no matter the situation.
"Get up, we have traps to set up."
A small nod is offered as he tries to blink away sleep, a hand moving to childishly knuckle at an eye. Daniel was, apparently, a very heavy sleeper.
Oversleeping wasn't intentional.
"So you're Daryls brother? I would have never guessed from how different you two act."
Daniel nods carefully, eying the ex-cop with extra caution. Hands raise and fingers seem to fiddle with one another as he suddenly looks down. He liked Rick well enough, even with his darker tendencies. Even with that strange aura that seemed to radiate off of him. A man that had been through too much.
