The powder blue Pearl walked over to her monarch and bowed respectively to her.Ā āYes my Diamond. I finished filing the reports, set up your meetings and called Holly Blue to make sure things at the zoo are going well.ā She wasnāt used to so many tasks nowadays. Her Diamond wasnāt very involved in her work the way she was before Pinkās shattering so just like her Diamond Pearl really didnāt do much. At this point she was her comforting companion more than her servant.
She carefully climbed up her radianceās throne and sat on the arm rest. She gazed up at her and frowned slightly. She had done so much work today and it seemed to have taken itās toll. She was becoming saddened once again. She rested her tiny hands on her Diamondās palm.Ā āWould you like to take a break for the day? You look like you need a breather.ā
Ā Ā āThatās very good. Youāve done well, Pearl.ā Thereās no explicit thanks, but with their differences in status, even those words count for it. Pearl deserved it, however; herā¦inefficiency as a leader (as Yellow would say) is what lead to the slight backlog anyways. She really needed to call on another Sapphire sometime soon, have her keep an eye out for such things⦠Yet knowing the stress it gave her, the Sapphire would likely be dismissed in only a few solar cycles.
Ā Ā Oh, no⦠Things were never easy anymore. Most of everything was taxing to do and feltā¦strenuous. Tedious. Should one go on? Running a court was no longer easy, she had no heart to shatter gems anymore, and work in itself was a bother. If it wasnāt for Yellowās constant pushing, it wouldnāt be surprising if the Blue Court eventually fell to a casual disarray that Yellow would be horribly displeased withā¦..
Ā Ā It likely would happen, with her sort of luck. Howeverā¦for now she was doing fine, making it by (barely), and with her Pearl for comfort. Good enough.
Ā Ā The hood of her cloak fell as she sighed softly, leaning back into her chair fully once more. The small hands of the Pearl helped, though not by much⦠It was simply one of those days where she might have to ask for a little song and rest before even attempting to be active againā¦.
Ā Ā How could life now be so draining?
Ā Ā āYes⦠I would,ā she finally admitted with another sigh, turning her head up towards the ceiling. Designs of planets that were hers, engraved onto the works, were once a source of prideā¦now they did nothing for her.Ā āToday has truly been a draining day for me.ā A pause, and then,Ā āAs well, Iād like it if you sang a song for me, Pearl. Anything will do, just make it so that itāsā¦calming and relaxing.ā
