“I think it’s in the terms and conditions but, who READS those?” Kamala jokes with a shrug of her shoulders. Silk? She’ll admit that she doesn’t actually know about this superhero, but hey, she’s from New Jersey. How was she supposed to know? “His costume reminds me of my childhood, I mean me he’s only a few years older than me but still. Although nostalgia doesn’t bring up the cool factor.” She explains before stretching her hand towards Silk’s and shaking it. “Ditto to that, and your nose happens to be correct. Let’s beat the evil out of these suckers.”

“No one. Who knows what you are really signing up to. It’s EXCITING.” The spider-hero said, the smile hidden under the mask but still heard. She is kind of laughing at the explanation about Peter’s costume and she is making a mental note to let him know what Ms.Marvel thinks of it. “He is 28 I think. We are the same age. Same nasty spider bit both of us.” Way to explain her origin story in less than 10 seconds. “Let’s do this. I treat you with coffee after this.” Cindy is quick to point out, web coming out of her free hand to trap one of the baddies.

“Kind of funny,” Gwen held her finger up, correcting her and returning the small smile. She did feel bad for Cindy. She was weird, like really weird, but she could hardly blame her. It wasn’t her fault she was locked away in a freaky spider bunker for like a decade, “Yeah, it’s definitely weird as hell, but look, he even specifically invited you to go. You can’t give up an opportunity like that. Give it a shot. If you’re uncomfortable, just bounce after dinner and you’re all good,“ Geeze she sounding like some overly optimistic motivational speaker. “I can agree with you there. Figuring out boys freaking sucks.”

“I think he invited me out of pity.” Or the fact that the gigantic lie he told him didn’t matched up. Still, she was invited, refusing an invitation was bad, right? You are meant to say yes and at least show up for five minutes. “Thank you Dr.Stacy.” Cindy side-eyed the blonde with a lingering smile on her lips and just sighed. “Yep. Definitely. I prefer taking giant HYDRA machines over boys.” At those she can punch, though she had punched Peter as well once. She is guessing that isn’t good between friends so she rejects the idea. “Damn you, spider-hormones.”

“Huh?” Kamala looks away from the possible alien and towards her. “No problem. It’s what I signed up for anyways.” Oh but how it was extremely tiring. Monsters, aliens, the occasional inhuman and no holidays. But, it was what she loved. “Nah, I met the OG one couple times, his costume is not as cool as the second one, or yours for that matter. Hi, Ms. Marvel’s the name.”

“Yeah, it comes with the suit and the powers, right?” She nods in agreement. They kind of signed off to this type of deal the moment they gained powers. It took her a while to understand, and even with all of her spider senses, she still couldn’t see her enemy’s attack. “Yeah yeah, his suit is kind of lame but I LIKE it. But thank you, I made it myself.” Cindy smiles proudly even if her mask covers her mouth. Extended hand toward the other. “Nice meet you Ms. Marvel. I think I smell a team up on the way.”

Gwen sat up from the spot where she was lounging, her brows furrowing as the other girl spoke, “Damn,” she let out a small laugh. She didn’t mean to laugh, but it was really the only response she could get out initially. “Yeah, wow, you got it pretty bad. I think you should at least talk to him at some point… You don’t have to explain everything, but just tell you’re happy for him or something like that?” situations like these made Gwen glad she was single. She had never considered herself an expert in boys, but at least maybe she could give somewhat decent advice to her friend?  “Okay. Here’s the real question: Are you going to the wedding? I’ll totes be you plus one, even. Weddings mean free food, Cindy.”

“Not funny.” And yet a smile graces her lips for a second, as she wraps one arm around her legs, letting her chin rest on top of them. 10 years away in a bunker surely did wonders to rust her social skills. Boy skills. “Uh, I kind of did. And then I walked away.” A hand moves to her hair and scratches there in frustration. “I don’t know. He said I should go but---isn’t that weird? But the free food is kind of a big deal.” And honestly, when has she ever rejected a good free food meal? Right, maybe when it was meant to be on her ex-boyfriend’s wedding. “Punching bad guys is easier.”

“My high school boyfriend is engaged.” She still can’t believe it. The visit of Gwen is no surprise, they weren’t exactly best of friends, alternative universes and all. But Cindy found herself wanting to spend time with the other. Maybe it was because Gwen was bitten by the same spider as Cindy but from another universe. Who knows. “It was so awkward. I have been avoiding him.” She is not proud of that. But what can she tell him? Hello yes, sorry for disappearing but I was hiding in a secret bunker for bitten spider/human hybrids. “Boy problems weren’t that big in high school.”

“Uh. Thanks.” Cindy rose from the ground, to see the other girl standing there, having actually saving her ass. Wide eyes visible for the other to see her surprise. “Were you looking for the OG Spider or---” Original Spider. Because New Yorkers were still trying to get used to the presence of multiple spider/human hybrids. After regaining composure, she offered a hand for the other, pulling her mask down, believing that secrets between fellow heroes was dumb. “I’m Silk.”

   on the other hand, steve was not exactly sure how many people     like spider-man existed. this radioactive spider did get around.    “just call me steve.” he didn’t mean to surprise her like this,    suit and all, but when the suit was called for, it was called for.         “uh, is your pal here?”

“Uh---sure thing, Captain. I mean Steve.” How is that even a thing? She isn’t sure she will be able to call him by first name basis. “No. I don’t know where he is.” Well, technically she did, they had a bond stronger than anything else because of that damn spider but that was not what she was asked. Is he in trouble? Oh, is it AVENGERS business?”
