I know that we don't have a lot of funny HC in e33 but one that I have that cracks me up all the time is imagining if Maelicia entered the Canvas later and the expeditions pVerso has to handle just keep getting increasingly younger and Verso is just losing his mind trying to herd literal teenagers who were raised without parents and don't know how to do basic ahh shit like light a fire, don't have a single survival instinct and are also like genz / gen alpha mindset.

Like... The world is doomed and there's no adults so they just... Have a morbid sense of humor and don't take expedition seriously whatsoever. And they see Verso as a boomer and he's the oldest person they've ever met. And treat him as a boomer that he is.

Verso: Do you guys even want to live?!

15 yo expeditioners: bro the world is fucked and we're all gonna die. We do not care.

Verso: why did you even come then?

Them: yolo?

Verso infiltrates Expedition 33 in the most self-destructive way possible. He's not a cold secret agent archetype or a mustache twirling villain. His methods are frighteningly effective but it's because he fanatically turns himself over to it:

be the thing they need at the critical time

be charming to distract from how little information you share

repeatedly and relentlessly demonstrate your value

self-sacrifice to prove you're serious

be a good listener and let people unburden themselves with you

if you have to share, share something that is real and personal, but don't go too deep with it

make them laugh

And the thing is... I think Verso was sincere. The game UI isn't lying when he gets a relationship upgrade. Monoco calls him out on getting too attached.

Verso's act 2 plan: I'll just be friends with you for real, and I'll let myself love you guys and then at the end I'll just kill that part of myself to do what needs to be done.

AHHH IT’S FINALLY OUT!

Thank you to the entire Dome Works team and for all the hard work everyone put in!! ❤️ I had the honor of working on some art assets for this game, including character sprites and journal illustrations which you will progressively see more of throughout the game! ❤️ This game has been a huge labor of love from us, and there’s so many things to discover inside it as well as a whole bunch of additional content updates coming!

I’ve always been on the fence about all the pointy-feet nevrons, because half of me finds it very funny to think that Clea can’t paint feet

but then half of me thinks about the fact that she’s a perfectionist, and how it feels more in character for her to take anything she struggles with and double down on perfecting it, leading me to believe the body part she actually had trouble with is probably hands, and nevrons like the Noir and Lampmaster are the results of her overcoming that weakness in the most Clea fashion possible. I also think about how the oldest creation in the canvas is Esquie who a) has pointed feet and b) was painted by Verso, and how maybe this could be an old joke between them and/or Clea’s way of honouring her brother through her work
